Cannabis Corpse debuts a new song entitled “Chronic Breed”, taken from the forthcoming new album “Left Hand Pass”, which will be released on September 08th through Season Of Mist.

Check out now “Chronic Breed” below.

Comments the band’s vocalist/bassist Phil Hall (also Municipal Waste, Iron Reagan):

“At long last Cannabis Corpse has come out of its weed induced slumber to bring all y’all head bangers out there a new slab of brutal Death metal. This time around we decided to give our new guitarist Ray Suhy a lot more room to add his own unique flavor to the song writing and riffs. We think what has came out is a fresh sound for Cannabis Corpse.”

Adds guitarist Ray Suhy:

“‘Chronic Breed‘ was one of the last songs we wrote for “Left Hand Pass‘. We rewrote this one a couple of times before we got it to flow the way we wanted it. Hallhammer laid down some killer drum parts and Landphil‘s vocals are some of my favorite that he’s ever done. There’s lots of catchy and brutal moments on this record and ‘Chronic Breed‘ is one of my favorites!”

Swedish metal act Nocturnal Rites has come back from the dead, signed on with AFM Records and announced the new album “Phoenix,” which will be out on September 29th.

There are bands which are badly missed once they disappear from the scene. One of those examples is Nocturnal Rites, who last released an album in 2007 (“The 8th Sin”) and then afterwards slowly slipped into a hiatus kind of situation.

We are happy to come up with good news now: Nocturnal Rites is indeed back! The band has just put finishing touches on “Phoenix.” The band commented: “We can’t wait to share this new album with everyone. It’s been long overdue. Needless to say, it feels great to finally be back.”

Stay tuned for more details coming soon.

Nocturnal Rites is:

Jonny Lindqvist – Vocals
Nils Eriksson – Bass
Per Nilsson – Lead Guitar
Fredrik Mannberg – Guitar
Owe Lingvall – Drums

New album, ‘Vengeful Ascension’, to see release this Friday + headlining tour with Anciients underway

“Mankind Will Have No Mercy” is the latest single from New Orleans metal legion Goatwhore. The punishing hymn comes by way of the band’s anticipated new full-length, Vengeful Ascension, set for worldwide release this Friday, June 23rd, via Metal Blade Records.

Check out the audio menace of “Mankind Will Have No Mercy” at: metalblade.com/goatwhore – where the record can also be pre-ordered in the following formats:

–Digipak CD
–Limited “spell book” edition including two CDs (limited to 3000 copies)
–180g black vinyl
–clear/black-marbled vinyl (limited to 300 copies – EU exclusive)
–sepia/white-splatter vinyl (limited to 200 copies – EU exclusive)
–violet-red marbled vinyl (limited to 200 copies – EU exclusive)
–Clear with black and white swirls (limited to 1500 copies – US exclusive)
–sepia-marbled vinyl (limited to 100 copies – US exclusive)
* exclusive bundles with a shirt, plus digital options are also available!

The band’s seventh full-length offering and second recorded reel-to-reel was captured at Earth Analog in Tolono, Illinois near Champaign with longtime soundman and comrade Jarrett Pritchard (1349, Gruesome).

In a near-perfect 9.5/10 rating, Metal Assault writes, “With their consistent, exclusive, unbridled sound, they leave a lasting impression… they prove just honest, pure heavy metal can still be a thing. It’s bands like this that give hope and power to the metal scene. This album is inspiring and one to put on repeat.” Heavy Blog Is Heavy concurs, Goatwhore have eclipsed their previous work by creating an expansive and involving album that is as heavy as it is musically diverse and unusually catchy.” While Team Rock calls it, “…the most mature recording in the Goatwhore canon,” furthering, “Its combination of disparate subgenres from opposite ends of the structural and melodic continuum is masterful, resulting in a remarkably non-contrasting display of good and evil; that being good songs that sound as evil as all hell.”

Elsewhere the sentiment echoes. Metal Wani hails another, “perfectly-sculpted Goatwhore masterpiece of raw aggressiveness and the band’s classic instrumentals.” New Noise Magazine gushes, “‘Vengeful Ascension‘ is Goatwhore‘s most diverse and interesting work to-date. The band proves that they can do more than just shred away from beginning to end, but build upon their foundation to introduce deeper chemistry…The record is one of those works that taps into the vein of human existence, and unleashes it in devastating heavy metal fashion.” Metal Insider notes, “There’s no filler here. It’s fast, sometimes slow, painfully brutal yet also restrained where needed… Their live show proves to everyone that these guys are for real and there’s no dependency on pro-tools and gimmicks. They record ‘track to tape’ so any fakery is thrown out the window. It’s like the opposite of Instagram. It’s pure sweat equity with these guys year after year and it pays off.”

Goatwhore is currently ravaging stages through the USA and Canada on a near-three-week headlining tour with Vancouver metallers, Anciients. The tour commenced June 9th and will run through July 1st. The band’s latest journey comes in advance of their previously announced North American fall takeover supporting UK-based metal icons Venom Inc. “The Blood Stained Earth Tour” will pillage twenty-eight cities from September 1st through October 2nd. Additional support will be provided by Portland punk thrashers Toxic Holocaust and Ohio deathcore unit The Convalescence. See all confirmed dates below.

A sonic manifestation of war, chaos, desolation, and emotional conflict, seamlessly bridging twenty years of the band’s signature brand of audio venom, Vengeful Ascension finds its members at their most accomplished – both individually and as a cohesive unit. Guitarist Sammy Duet’s dense, sub nuclear riff work and possessed solo blitzes are at their most devastating, spiraling flawlessly and instinctually around drummer Zack Simmons’ and bassist James Harvey’s hammering rhythms with front-man Ben Falgoust’s distinctly commanding roar, his acidic prose more enunciated than ever before, complimenting the apocalyptic proceedings.
