Russian hardcore metal outfit Hellweed debuts a new song entitled “Guts Out”, taken from the forthcoming new EP “Legacy in Vain”, which will be out in stores June 30.

Check out now “Guts Out” below.

Explains vocalist Roman Chekhovsky:

“Lyrically, ‘Guts Out’ is about many of Russian bands, our friends, who quit playing heavy music, because it’s never been popular or brings something in Russia. Never. But I would rather die than sell our guitars and close our practice room, so we keep fighting in the heart of evil. For the metal and hardcore pride.”

TesseracT premieres a new song and music video titled “Smile”, which the band recorded during the late spring of this year with producer Acle Kahney. Comments vocalist Daniel Tompkins:

“Lyrically, ‘Smile‘ carries a strong and forward sense of irony as we explore and darkest side of the human condition. The song will witness the manifestation of an ‘entity.’ Consciousness survives through constant manipulation only to propagate pessimism and hopelessness. Our entity observes, consumes and evolves, bearing witness to human existence, mimicking our presence in colossal form.”

Check out now “Smile” below.

Adds bassist Amos Williams:

“We chose this track as although it is part of a greater theme, and is in fact towards the end of a story arc, it stands alone very well. We have a solid idea of where we would like to take this track on the next album as it is in no way finished. It is merely one step in a journey. The verses and choruses stand very far apart from each other. There is a tension we wished to build through a minimalist approach, with small phrases that repeat against accompanying parts of different lengths. These undulate, seemingly getting lost against the nonconventional phrasing of the drums. All this is nothing new to TesseracT fans, but this time we have looked to really align the lyrical and musical messages.”

TesseracT is currently out touring with Megadeth, Meshuggah and Lillake:

06/25 Boston, MA – House Of Blues
06/27 Philadelphia, PA – The Fillmore
06/28 Portsmouth, VA – Portsmouth Pavilion
06/29 Silver Spring, MD – The Fillmore
06/30 Columbus, OH – Express Live
07/05 Windsor, ON – Colosseum at Caesars Windsor (no Tesseract/Lillake)
07/07 Saint Charles, MO – Family Arena
07/08 Oklahoma City, OK – The Zoo Amphitheatre
07/09 Houston, TX – Reventon Music Center
07/11 Pittsburgh, PA – Stage AE

Sludge metal band Ether today reveals “No Gods, All Masters” a new track from forthcoming album “There Is Nothing Left For Me Here.” Give it a listen below.

“There Is Nothing Left For Me Here” will be released on July 7th, 2017 via Dead Truth Recordings. The record was written amidst the separation and divorce process of a member, which steadies the mood of the record toward complete and utter abandonment.

Lyrically, “TINLFMH” touches on the personal but focuses on current socio-political affairs, the whitewashing of historically tragic events, western programming, capitalism, and other tenets of denigration of the human condition.

The record is as emotive as it is crushing, combining haunting melodies with Sabbath-esque riffs, to present something truly cathartic. Ether maintains a DIY punk ethic, releasing records independently and booking tours personally. The band consists of:

Daniel Burger – drums
Devin Estep – guitar/vox
Peter Kovalsky – guitar/vox/banjo/toy piano
Joshua Shomburg – bass/vox/gong
George Geanuracos – violin/vox

“Forever War” – a new track from Spokane, Washington’s own Cold Blooded – just came online and can be heard below. A sludgy song of epic proportions, the track is taken from the forthcoming full-length album “Throne Burner,” due to be released via Blackhouse Records (Prison Religion, Ras Kass) on 7/21 and produced by Bill Nieman.

Speaking on the album’s title and lyrical through-line for the songs, vocalist Ethan Kennedy said: “In the past I wrote lyrics inspired by books or films that affected me. However with Throne Burner I started writing shortly before the presidential election and I knew no matter who won, a good deal of this country would be supremely pissed off and extremely divided.

“I wrote about all the negativity and violence in America and the influences that in turn has on our society. Some songs are from the perspective of someone directly affected by the violence, some deal with those of us viewing it in the media and even to the perspective of someone who wants to perpetrate the violence.”

To further hone the sonic chaos the band enlisted Topon Das of avant-grind freaks Fuck The Facts to contribute several sound-collage interludes (as well as master the record). Speaking on Das’s relationship to the band, Kennedy related: “we’ve opened for Fuck The Facts several times and they are one of our favorite bands. We also bonded because our old drummer owns a food truck of some renown and we invited them down after a show to gorge themselves. That definitely solidified our friendship.”

Speaking on Das’s interludes, Kennedy continues “he really went out of his way to get our input into what we wanted for those segments to even revising what he did based on my opinion. In the end he created some very palpable moods/messages that fit the album perfectly.”

The band has several shows confirmed around the record release (listed below) and will also be supporting Decapitated and Thy Art Is Murder in Spokane.

7/20 Spokane, WA The Pin (Record Release Show!)
8/18 Seattle, WA The Kraken Klaw
8/19 Everett, WA Tony V’s Garage Klaw, Method 13
8/31 Spokane, WA The Pin Decapitated, Thy Art Is Murder
