Rising Brazilian thrash metal starlets Nervosa has posted a new live video online for the song, “Raise Your Fist.” You can check it out below. The song comes from the band’s third album, “Downfall Of Mankind,” which was released last year through Napalm Records. Speaking about the video the band said:

“We have just released our newest music video, this time for the song ‘Raise Your Fist’ from our latest album ‘Downfall of Mankind’.

“In addition to live scenes, the video features images of our fans and musicians from other bands (such as Sepultura, Destruction, Flotsam & Jetsam, Ratos de Porão, etc) raising their fists.

“This is a protest song that talks about resistance and fighting, so we thought it would be interesting to give our fans from around the world the opportunity to express themselves through our video, raising their fists to support a cause, showing unity and solidarity! ” comments Fernanda Lira on the idea of the band of creating a contest on the internet for fans to send pics of them to compose the clip.

“Recorded and edited by the Brazilian company Cobra Media Craft, the videoclip is now available on the official Youtube channel of Napalm Records and also through the link below!”

Produced by Zeuss (Rob Zombie, Queensryche, Whitechapel, etc.), The Outer Ones sees Revocation pushing both the death metal and progressive elements of their signature sound harder than ever. “I knew that I wanted to go in a darker direction, and this is our most death metal album to date,” states vocalist/guitarist Dave Davidson. “Sometimes when death metal bands go down the prog route they lose some of that edge, but we wanted to keep the aggression at the forefront of what we do while still pushing our boundaries.” Moving away from the societal and historical themes that informed 2016′s Great is Our Sin, this time Davidson has immersed himself in the fantastic, evoking one of the great writers of the sci-fi/horror genre. “The title is my ode to H.P. Lovecraft and the entities of pure cosmic horror that rule that universe he created. Since the new music we were writing was so evil and spacey in sections it seemed to be the right title to fit the overall vibe. But while the lyrical content is largely influenced by such writings, in every allegory there is of course some reflection of the real world, so I enjoy writing in a way that could have one overlaying meaning and then another deeper, symbolic meaning as well.

Bernie Torme, best known for his tenure with Gillan, has passed away one day before his 67th birthday after a bout with virulent double pneumonia. The Dublin born guitarist also had stints with Ozzy Osbourne and Atomic Rooster, as well as leading his own band and collaborating with Twisted Sister singer Dee Snider in Desperado. His family has released the following statement:

“Bernie Tormé passed away peacefully on the 17th March 2019, one day short of his 67th birthday, surrounded by his family. He had been on life support for the past four weeks at a London hospital following post-flu complications.

“Bernie will be remembered for dedicating his life to his music for five decades. He will be sorely missed.”

Bernie’s bandmate Mik Gaffney added, “On a personal note, I can only say how much I will miss him. I’ve known him since the late 80’s. It’s been a privilege to be his drummer for the past couple of years and his friend for much longer. It’s a struggle to convey the emotion into words.”

Slayer’s March 17 show in Christchurch, New Zealand has been called off in the wake of this past Friday’s mosque shootings in the city which killed 50 people and left 50 others injured. The show would have taken place just one kilometer away from the mosque.

The decision to cancel the concert at Horncastle Arena was announced by Tim Scandrett, the board chairman of the venue owner VBase in a Facebook post.

Explains Scandrett:

“We understand fans may be disappointed. However, we feel that it is in the best interest for the safety and well-being of the public after the tragic events which unfolded across our city 24 hours ago”.

Adds booking agency Storm The Gates: “Whilst we want music to be a positive impact on any city, the recent events are incomprehensible, and right now we stand together with Christchurch, and send our deepest sympathies to those affected.”
