Limbs announce the addition of their new singer Austin McAuley, who replaces Chris Costanza. The group have also premiered a new track called “Abandoned“, which you can hear below:

States the band:

“Change is weird and it can be painful sometimes but with change comes growth. Chris will be stepping down as our vocalist. He has chosen to fully focus on his daughter/family and life at home. We absolutely support this decision and are excited for what’s in store for him.

This has been in the works for a bit now and we’re stoked to finally share it with you guys. On that note, we’d like to welcome Austin McAuley as our new frontman. This dude is amazing and beyond talented and we’re so thankful to be able to add him to the family. This may be a bit of a shock for some people but trust us, this is only a growth spurt. We’ll see y’all soon.”

Comments McAuley of his new role:

“I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity and am very excited for everything in the future. Joining Limbs really has pushed me musically, and creating these new jams has me so hyped. Stepping into this new role has definitely been challenging in some aspects, but it’s given me the privilege to join my closest friends on stage every night, as well as further develop the standards in our writing. I believe this new music heavily reflects our movement forward, and quite frankly I’m ready to release more.”

Adds guitarist Jordan Hunter:

“Austin‘s arrival definitely affected the dynamic of the band, but in a fantastic way. We’ve really taken a new approach to writing songs collectively, and Austin coming into the picture was a direct cause of that. He was already close with the band prior to his induction, so the camaraderie has been second-nature while on the road and in the studio. He’s a terrific fit.”

The song [‘Abandoned‘] is quite literally a narrative of struggling to accept one’s own flaws. It represents the rejecting of negative emotions, coupled with a perpetual need for self-preservation. We wrote this song differently than any song we’ve ever written before – all together in a room from start to finish.

We’ve definitely adopted a more collective-based style of writing as opposed to having one person write most things primarily. No part of this song was written during the crafting of the ‘Father’s Son‘ LP.”

“We’re bloody chuffed to welcome rapid UK thrash legends Xentrix to our roster,” states a message from Listenable Records.

Hailing from the North West of England, Xentrix was formed in 1985 by guitar player Chris Astley. After numerous changes to the line up Xentrix signed to Roadrunner Records and entered the studio to record their first album, Shattered Existence, with producer John Cuniberti (Vio-lence, Forbidden, Joe Satriani).

Xentrix were one of the leading lights of the British thrash metal movement. They had music videos for their cover of Ray Parker Jr.’s “Ghostbusters” as well as the songs “Crimes”, “For Whose Advantage?” and “The Order of Chaos”, which all had regular air time on MTV’s Headbangers Ball. Gaining global notoriety, Xentrix had many high energy performances with audiences of thousands . “Ghostbusters” theme tune quickly became a favorite with stage divers at their live shows. They sold over 500,000 records worldwide.

After many tours with Annihilator, Sepultura and Tankard , the band broke up in 1996. There was a brief return in 2005/2006 which saw a small number of UK shows and then a second return in 2013 at UK’s Bloodstock Festival was followed by a series of dates with Kreator and then Overkill.

Xentrix returned to full activity in 2017 for a storming Bloodstock Festival show with Jay Walsh (Bull-Riff Stampede) newly appointed at the helm. Following this the band pushed forward with a number of shows including Metal Mania Poland with Emperor / Napalm Death and Headline sets at both the Otero Brutalfest in Spain with Entombed A.D. and Symbolic Fest in Czech.

Through the closing months of 2018 the final recording work for the new Xentrix album, Bury The Pain, was completed. With production from Andy Sneap and mastering by Russ Russell, this new recording has the band sounding heavier than ever, while still retaining their signature sound.

With the imminent release of their brand new album Bury The Pain on Listenable Records in early summer 2019, Xentrix are fired up and ready for the next chapter to begin.

American thrash metallers, Sacred Reich, have finished recording their new studio album – a first in 23 years – entitled “Awakening.” The album is due this summer. A first new song called “Don’t Do It Donnie” will be released April 19 on a split 7″ with Iron Reagan.

Comments Phil Rind: “We are stoked to do a split with Iron Reagan. When we began as a band in 1986 we were influenced lyrically by punk bands and the Reagan era. This is a great way to get back to our roots. The song is a heavy and cheeky middle finger to the politics of today. You’d think we’d have learned by now. There is a reason our first record is called ‘Ignorance’.”

The new Sacred Reich album, “Awakening,” has been recorded with producer Arthur Rizk and engineer John Aquilino at The Platinum Underground in Arizona. More details on Awakening shortly.

– March 27th, 2019 –

On April 5th, AntropomorphiA will release their new album, Merciless Savagery, via Metal Blade Records. For a preview of Merciless Savagery, the new single, “Luciferian Tempest” (feat. Farida Lemouchi of The Devil’s Blood, Molasses), can be heard at: youtu.be/33f6rgAB1aw

To hear the previous singles (“Womb ov Thorns” and “Merciless Savagery”), please visit: metalblade.com/antropomorphia – where the record can be pre-ordered in the following formats:

–digipak-CD
–180g black vinyl (EU exclusive)
–grey marbled vinyl (EU exclusive – limited to 200 copies)
–dead gold marbled vinyl (EU exclusive – limited to 200 copies)
–black/white splatter vinyl (EU exclusive – limited to 120 copies)
–brown marbled vinyl (US exclusive – limited to 100 copies)

In the year marking the 30th anniversary, AntropomorphiA has delivered an extreme metal opus that more than maintains the high standards upheld over the course of their storied career. Further building on the monstrous sounds of 2017′s Sermon Ov Wrath, Merciless Savagery lives up to its name, attacking with unrepentant ferocity and holding nothing back. Vocalist/guitarist Ferry Damen comments: “‘Sermon Ov Wrath‘ was our most raw and honest statement and an album where we transcended certain genre limitations, capturing the essence of AntropomorphiA, and I would say the new record’s atmosphere is darker, heavier and more punishing, but still has hooky riffs and grooves. I think it’s the logical step forward. It’s a different chapter, even more diverse while being very cohesive, but you can immediately hear it’s AntropomorphiA.”

Merciless Savagery track-listing
1. Merciless Savagery
2. Requiem Diabolica
3. Womb ov Thorns
4. Cathedral ov Tombs
5. Apocalyptic Scourge
6. Wailing Chorus ov the Damned
7. Luciferian Tempest
8. The Darkest Light
9. Unsettling Voices

It seems that work continues on Slipknot’s sixth studio album despite other controversies that have been generating the headlines recently. The band shared the below clip from the vocal sessions for the effort, which itself has been scheduled for an August 09th release date. Recording sessions for the record started earlier this year with producer Greg Fidelman (Metallica, Slayer) behind the boards.
