Yurodivy’s new album “Aphos” is out today – February 2nd – via WOOAAARGH Records and all the tracks can be heard below. The label also comments:

“Like a metaphoric tale, the album trace the story of a fish which decided to leave the cold and dark sea bed to swallow the sun and bring it back into the abyss. The title ‘Children Of The Sun’ captures the division of a people that is facing a system settled by former generations that is now beyond their control.

“In this tale, it is the moment when the sun, brought on the seafloor as something positive, is dividing everyone. Using material from the Battleship Potemkin movie and linking it with the current state of our society seemed for us a good way to represent the analogy of the lyrics of this song, and, by extension, of the whole disc.

“‘In The Violence Of The Ashes’ is the 8th chapter of ‘Aphos.’ It is the key moment in the story told in this album. It illustrates our heroin’s journey towards the earth center, a concious fall towards hell, this moment when it becomes necessary to touch the bottom to become aware of real problems.”

1. Six Feet Under Water 05:57
2. The Way Of The Light 02:23
3. Ascension 04:01
4. 40 Days 08:57
5. Now You Can Feed The Monster (part1) 02:30
6. Now You Can Feed The Monster (part2) 04:15

Sweating profusely in a parched no man’s land about three and a half hours northeast of Los Angeles, Beastmaker’s city of Fresno isn’t exactly a cultural mecca – and yet it’s the birthplace of Hollywood outsiders and weirdos like Sid Haig, Slim Pickens and director Sam Peckinpah. Still, it suffers from a dearth of musicians interested in heavy rock.

As the band prepares for the release of sophomore album “Inside the Skull” this summer, Beastmaker is also ready to hit the road again. The first run of dates with Mothership and Slow Season begins March 10th in Costa Mesa, CA and runs through March 18th in Seattle, WA.

Following a quick break, the band will return to the road supporting Zakk Sabbath (Zakk Wylde’s Black Sabbath Cover Band). These dates begin May 19th in New York, NY and run through June 10th in San Francisco, CA. A complete list of all dates can be found below.

Drummer Andrew Alejandro Saldate IV cannot wait to hit the road and comments: “We are pumped to go out a support our new record Inside The Skull with the rockin folk of Mothership & All star trio of Zakk Sabbath!! It’s gonna be a hell on wheels!!! Look out!!!”

Manchester, UK-based black metal outfit Cold Fell will issue proper debut album, “Irwell,” through Argento Records in early March, and today a stream of the first single lands online.

“Skull Crushed Against Salford Cobblestones” is the lead track on Cold Fell’s “Irwell,” the track ripping the listener wide open with subzero tones from its opening note serving as a prime introduction to the demoralizing acoustics of the entire album, which was mixed and mastered by Tom Dring at Vagrant (Dragged Into Sunlight, Corrupt Moral Altar), and features artwork by Mark Mc Coy from Youth Attack.

Cold Fell will release “Irwell” through Argento Records on March 3rd, digitally and on vinyl, with 150 copies on clear/black color-in-color, and 150 copies on solid black. Pre-orders are available here.

Featuring members of Between the Buried and Me, Haken, Trioscapes, Cynic

On March 10th, Nova Collective (featuring members of Between the Buried and Me, Haken, Trioscapes, Cynic) will release their debut album, The Further Side, via Metal Blade Records. Nova Collective‘s music can be described as fusion, weaving progressive rock influences with world music, jazz and classical, to create something entirely new that is pure aural candy for prog/jazz fans. For a preview of The Further Side, a full-band, live performance video for the first single, “Dancing Machines”, can be viewed at: youtube.com

To pre-order The Further Side, please visit: metalblade.com/novacollective – where the album can also be pre-ordered in the following formats:
–CD
–Black 180g LP
–Clear-red marble LP (limited to 200 copies!)
*digital options are also available!

Nova Collective began in 2014 when bassist Dan Briggs (Between the Buried and Me, Trioscapes) and guitarist Richard Henshall (Haken) began exchanging emails about music; before long, a few demos were fleshed out into full arrangements. Drummer Matt Lynch (Trioscapes, Cynic) and keyboardist Pete Jones (ex-Haken) came on board shortly after to finish writing the album. The Further Side was written on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, with Briggs and Lynch in America and Henshall and Jones in England, sharing session files until the group could get together at the beginning of 2015 to record with engineer Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, The Contortionist). Mixed by Rich Mouser (Neal Morse, Transatlantic), it is immediately clear that The Further Side is a labor of love for all involved, and that enthusiasm shines throughout.

Nova Collective line-up:
Dan Briggs – Bass
Matt Lynch – Drums
Pete Jones – Keyboards
Richard Henshall – Guitar
