After a serious bus crash in Poland over the weekend, The Dillinger Escape Plan has now issued this update about the situation:

“By now I’m sure many of you have already heard the news, but we wanted to communicate to you all directly. Not just to express the fact that nobody is in critical condition, but to express our gratitude to the fans who have seen us or who were going to see us on this tour, the crew who was also in the accident with us and part of why things have been going so smoothly, the various promoters and venue staff, Live Nation Poland who have been so helpful in the last 38 hours, the many police and medics and emergency workers who came to the scene, the hospital workers, and the friends and family who have reached out to us personally since yesterday morning.

“We were in the middle of playing some of our favorite shows we’ve ever played, and having a better time on and off stage than we have in a long time.

“We were ripped out of sleep at 8:25AM to what still feels like a lucid nightmare. The cacophony of metal bending and things breaking and people screaming and what felt like being hit by a missile. Without going into detail, not everyone is out of the hospital yet, some of us are hurt worse than others.

“Questions like why did this happen, why are we alive and others not, why are the people from the Bay Area fire dead, why at all is anyone here or not. What the hell is all of this. Remember how valuable life is. We are all lucky to be alive. To just have any time at all.

“Anyway, thanks to you all for caring. We were truly having an amazing time and we’re blessed to have you all, such a high caliber group of people. It’s been an honor to play these shows, but we unfortunately have to cancel the remainder of them. We will reschedule every one that we can, and we’ll update more when we can.”

Nor Cal’s Blessed Curse is back. It’s been some time since the trio released a full-length, self-titled album in 2012. But on March 31st these thrashers make a comeback with “Beware of the Night.”

Ripping and tearing through five new songs of blistering, aggressive metal, “Beware of the Night” was once again produced by Juan Urteaga (Sadus, Exodus, Testament) at Trident Studios.

“Recording with Juan has been a great experience in the past and this time was no different,” states drummer Derek Bean. “I feel like this whole session was an improvement from the 2012 self-titled album from our playing to the final masters. We worked timely and efficiently on getting these songs recorded to the best of all our abilities, which definitely shows in the final release.”

The album also introduces new bass player Dan Keenan. “The delay of the band also just had to do with finding the correct person who has the same goals and desires as us and wants to improve and push us forward into our own sound and style which took some time,” adds Derek.

Now armed with a new recording, featuring striking cover artwork from Stone Design’s Brian Lewis (DevilDriver, Black Label Society, Cultural Warfare), Blessed Curse has been doing regional shows, including one this week supporting The Mentors at Café Colonial in Sacramento on February 18th. In the meantime, the guys promise there won’t be as much delay between recordings with several new songs already written for a future full album.

Over the Christmas holiday, longtime Decibel contributor David Shawn Bosler was in a serious car accident that left him with a horrific list of broken bones and injuries, requiring multiple surgeries and putting him on a long road to full rehabilitation.

On March 24th, 2017, Saint Vitus Bar in Brooklyn is hosting a benefit show, with 100 percent of the money raised going to Bosler’s recovery fund. The bill is topped by a rare live appearance from savage metalcore stalwarts All Out War, joined by local black metal philosophers Anicon, brutal Philly grinders Die Choking, and the hypnotic bass soundscapes of Insect Ark.

There will also be some one-of-a-kind items up for raffle to help Bosler and his family. Tickets are available here and anyone who can’t attend the show can still contribute to the Bosler family’s GoFundMe campaign here.

Iron Bonehead Productions is proud to present Naudiz’s second album, “Wulfasa Kunja,” on both CD and vinyl LP formats.

One of best-kept secrets in the black metal underground, Naudiz hails from Italy but exhibits a sound that spans countless locales and eras. Naudiz was never born, but exists since Nifelheimr, the primordial land of eternal ice, and Muspelheimr, the primordial land of neverending fire, collided.

Across nearly 40 minutes, “Wulfasa Kunja” features eight component songs patiently building with a master’s touch, weaving spells of mystery and might, often before exploding into dizzying vortexes of barbaric splendor.

Due out April 14th, the “Wulfasa Kunja” track listing and cover artwork by Timo Ketola can be seen below.

01. Garmr
02. Vali ok Nari
03. Jarnvidr
04. Angrboda
05. Loki
06. Geri ok Freki
07. Vanargandr
08. Wulfasa Kunja
