If you don’t know by now, Vicious Rummors is indeed a living entity; always progressing and evolving with time. 38 years and 16 albums later… the band promised some major announcements and here they are: Vicious Rumors is proud to welcome back lead singer Brian Allen, who sang on SPV/Steamhammer albums “Razorback Killers” (2011), “Live You to Death” (2012) and “Electric Punishment “(2013).”

Brian left the band in 2013 for family reasons and returns with full force and power. Geoff Thorpe says: “We’re so excited to have Brian back! Life really does have a funny way of coming full circle!”

Singer Nick Holleman has subsequently left the band to pursue other projects. He may be leaving “the band.” but he’s definitely not leaving “the family.” Thorpe says: “With no bad feelings at all we wish Nick all the best and thank him for 4 great years of recording and touring.!”

Vicious Rumors is already working on a killer new studio album, and furthermore introduces a new lead guitarist from Portland, OR baned Gunnar DüGrey. Thorpe comments: “His style, feel and general playing ability is out of this world!”

In the summer of 2017, the band will perform an exclusive German Open Air concert at the prestigious Bang Your Head Festival in Balingen as well as a series of club shows. Vancouver metal band Bison makes a devastating return with brand-new album,”You Are Not The Ocean You Are The Patient.”

Set for release in Europe on June 23rd followed by a North American release on July 7th, the crushing new offering follows the 2014-issued “1000 Needles” EP and serves asa first full-length offering to include bassist Shane Clark, former lead guitarist of 3 Inches Of Blood.

“It was important that the songs fit together to tell a bit of a story,” relays guitarist and vocalist James Farwell, “a story of a new life and escaping the city, while still being tethered to it. Life is a constant fight, and though I have taken the fight to a more natural and beautiful place, that struggle persists. This is an album of daily living. It is for everyone.”

Bison’s “You Are Not The Ocean You Are The Patient” was captured in the band’s hometown with long time friend Jesse Gander at Rain City Recorders.

“I wanted to also steep myself in music that was not necessarily heavy in the obvious sense,” Farwell continues, “so I was listening to lots of blues while writing the album: Peter Green, Muddy Waters, and Howlin’ Wolf. There was also lots of instrumental rock music playing on my long commutes to Vanceouver for work and rehearsals.”

“The new songs still sound like ‘us,’ whatever that means,” vocalist Dan And adds, “but we aren’t concerned with shying away from whatever influences creep up. The older we get and the longer we play together, the less we give a shit about trying to sound like anything in particular.”

1. Until The Earth Is Empty
2. Anti War
3. Drunkard
4. Kenopsia
5. Tantrum
6. Raiigin
7. Water Becomes Fire

Bison will embark upon a short run of Canadian dates next month with additional live incursions to be announced in the coming weeks. Currently confirmed dates are as follows:

6/09/2017 The Palomino – Calgary, AB
6/10/2017 The Capitol – Saskatoon, SK
6/11/2017 The Windsor Hotel – Winnipeg, MB
6/12/2017 The Exchange – Regina, SK
6/13/2017 The Vat – Red Deer, AB
6/14/2017 Brixx – Edmonton, AB
6/16/2017 The Rickshaw – Vancouver, BC

CKY now rises from the ashes with “The Phoenix,” due out June 16th and seeing Chad I Ginsburg stepping into the front man role. He’s joined in enduring partnership by fellow CKY co-founder, Jess Margera, and bassist Matt Deis (ex-All That Remains), who first joined CKY in 2005.

“We’re grown adults now with an eagle-eye perspective on who we are, what we do, and how to do it right,” Ginsburg declares. “None of us are out there in the clouds. We’re pretty well-grounded people that have an honest perspective on where we’re at.”

“We made sure that we went into the studio with our guns blazing,” Margera says. “This isn’t a bunch of parts thrown together. We focused on the songs. We didn’t ‘have to’ make this album, we wanted to.”

In keeping with CKY tradition, “The Phoenix” was recorded at the famed Rancho De La Luna studio in California. The goal was to make an authentic, organic, and “real” rock n’ roll record, uncompromising in its dedication to capturing what CKY actually sounds like.

“We’re feeling rather lucky,” Ginsburg agrees. “We’re not taking things for granted. We’re saturated in gratitude. It’s an incredibly humbled CKY, with a fire to last another twenty years. The point is to go play rock n’ roll and appreciate everybody else who does it, too. It’s a lucky job to have.

The first single “Rancid Rock” taken from upcoming Nitrogods album “Roadkill BBQ” is available today and can be heard via a music video below. “Rancid Rock” is the opening track of the album and makes clear what to expect from this true rock ‘n roll trio.

Nitrogods recorded 14 tracks for the album, starting with “Rancid Rock,” playing a boogie on the title track dedicated to Rick Parfitt, and giving the slide guitar extravaganza on “My Love’s A Wirebrush.”

Furthermore, the band digs deep into music history on “Where Have The Years Gone,” an unashamed homage to The Who. Guitarist Henny Wolter comments: “Oimel and Klaus saw the band during their final tour and where absolutely awed. That’s why we simply had to record this number.”

Following a self-titled cassette release last year via Al Hadid Records, Zebulon Kosted is about to return with a new album titled “You Have No Race You Have No Culture.” Today a 5+ minute sample has come online from the release, which will be made available through Tetraktys Media and Hammerkrieg Productions on June 6th, 2017.

Listen in below, or you can download the track excerpt for free at Bandcamp here. Zebulon Kosted comments on the upcoming album:

“Spend money, have children and uphold the status quo or you will be ostracized. Why would you need to question the value of globalization, urbanization and industrialization when it has brought progress and freedom to the peoples of the world? You have no race.

“Humans all come from the same source and have all procreated with different peoples from different places for thousands of years. You have no culture. Culture has been supplanted in the regional sense by cell phone, fast food, sweat shop clothes and tabloid media distractions. We are one. We must destroy the wealthy few who continue to enslave us.”

Leeds quintet Mountains Crave at last presents debut album, “As We Were When We Were Not,” which was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Rob Hobson at Silent City studios and will drop May 13th.

Featuring guest appearances by members of Undersmile, “As We Were When We Were Not” sees Mountains Crave expanding on the blueprint laid down with previous eponymous EP, incorporating disparate influences from Pink Floyd to Wolves in the Throne Room.

Inspired by Aldous Huxley’s 1962 lecture on visionary experience, the album explores themes such as spiritual enlightenment, death and the afterlife, and man’s kinship and subsequent alienation from the universe.

Blackest Of The Black Festival will be taking over Oak Canyon Park in Silverado, CA in Orange County this Memorial Day Weekend, Friday, May 26th and Saturday, May 27th.

The brainchild of Glenn Danzig, the event not only serves as a music festival, but as a cultural experience. The festival will be hosted by Full Metal Jackie and will feature camping, along with a number of sinister attractions, and two music stages curated by Danzig.

Glenn Danzig’s comic book company Verotik will be hosting a few special booth signings during the festival. To commemorate the release date of his new album, “Black Laden Crown,” Danzig has confirmed a rare and exclusive autograph signing session for the first day of the festival only, on Friday, May 26th.

Additionally, award-winning comic book artist Simon Bisley will be signing on both nights of the festival. Bisley has contributed to a number of comics including Verotik, DC, Fleetway, Full Circle, Marvel, and more, as well as Danzig album covers. His work has also influenced Beast in the 2006 Doctor Who episode “The Satan Pit,” and Simon Pegg’s character Tim Bisley on the U.K.’s Channel 4 sitcom, Spaced.

The Verotik area is only one of a slew of dark attractions to be featured at Blackest Of The Black. The festival will also feature a roaming freak show filled with contortionists, demons, and more, thrill rides, and a Sugar Skull Contest. The main attraction, Castle Danzig, is a fully immersive walkthrough experience of agony and ecstasy, all based on the music and graphic novels of Glenn Danzig. Within the vicinity of the eerie castle and courtyard, attendees will find a sacrifice altar, bondage stage, suspension stage, electro stage, blood bath, a padded cell, stocks, cage dancers, and more!
