Death metal trio Hideous Rebirth is back with sophomore album “La Fosa Comun.” Featuring album art by Tony Koehl (Arkaik, Dehumanized, Putrid Pile), “La Fosa Comun” was recorded by Arturo Acosta at Dark Cauldron Recordings and was once again mixed / mastered by Justin Loomis at TNS Audio Mastering.

The album also includes a guest appearance by Frank Zelada (ex Euphoric Defilement, Ossification, Siderate) and is due out October 277th via Gore House Productions. Guitarist / vocalist Erick Gutierrez comments:

“The writing process took quite a long time; beginning in late 2013. The recording process for the album took several months too. It’s not often we can get together but we made the best of everything when we could. It was extremely fun working with our friend Arturo over at Dark Cauldron Recordings. We brought back my vocals to help balance the lineup changes. We tracked drums with scratch guitars, in the beginning, knocking them out in a couple days, then moved on with 2 different guitars.”

In regards to the album art, he adds: “Tony always delivers. We shared ideas when we met up at his home to discuss the concept. I don’t believe it was difficult, we wanted his input on the art cover. When we finally saw it, it was better than we had envisioned.”

Erick finishes by saying, “’La Fosa Comun’ can be best described as 12 tracks of lore, conjuration, and ritualistic brutality. So much of us went into this album and we can’t wait for you all to listen.”

1. Orgy of Souls
2. Obscured in Blood
3. Haunting Carnal Illusions
4. Ab Insidiis Diaboli
5. Desecration Seance
6. Incandescent
7. Condemned to Silence
8. Flames of Passage
9. Pervasion of Impurity
10. A Shadowing Menace
11. La Fosa Comun
12. Ominous Transcendence

Prosthetic Records welcomes Chicago four-piece instrumental group Zaius to the label’s ever-expanding roster. Formed in 2010, the band explores a lighter, more melodic side of the members’ musical tastes without abandoning the metal tendencies that come natural.

Guitarist Dann Dolce comments on the signing: “We are insanely proud of these eight songs and can’t wait to share our first full length with the world. A proper release is what this album deserves, and Prosthetic Records really has our backs on this. The four of us couldn’t be happier.”

“Of Adoration,” the band’s debut LP, will be released via Prosthetic Records on October 6th, 2017. The opus was tracked at the start of 2017 with Jeff Edwards before being sent off to be mixed and mastered by Chris Common (Pelican, Mouth of the Architect, Minus the Bear).

“We try not to conform to any specific sub-genre and pull influence from as many places as possible,” reflects Dolce. “Our goal is to keep our songs moving and dynamic, heavy yet engaging, not letting parts drag on longer than they have to.”

Sweden’s metal/post-rock newcomers and Agonia Records recent signees Antarktis revealed details of the upcoming debut album “Ildlaante.” Set to be released on October 6th, the record features six tracks with a playing time of 52 minutes. Watch a video for the first single, “Svalbard” in the player below.

Antarktis was co-founded by guitarists Björn Pettersson (In Mourning) and Tobias Netzell (In Mourning, ex-October Tide). Initially a few songs were written, yet laid on ice before they ever saw the light of day. As years passsed, the idea of Antarktis was picked up once again, and what first started out as an after work side project, ventured off into a territory uncharted by the duo’s mother band, In Mourning. Thanks to vocalist and bassist Daniel Jansson (Ikhon) and drummer Jonas Martinsson (Me The Tiger, Necrosavant), the line-up got completed in 2013, giving Antarktis new life and a personality of its own.

The band comented on the debut album: “We are all extremely proud of this album and we’re excited to finally be getting it out. We’ve really grown together a lot as a band since we formed, into something where we all can contribute and write together very unconditionally. The entire album and the process behind it is very much a group effort which we think makes it stand apart from what we do with our respective other bands and projects. Our hats off to Karl Daniel Lidén for a meaty mix/master and to Emy Rojas for the beautiful art.”

“Ildlaante” was recorded between September 2016 and February 2017 in three different studios in Sweden. Drums were tracked with Alexander Backlund and Sebastian Svalland at Nailvillage Studio. Guitars, bass, vocals and keyboards at Studio Libra, while additional vocals at Ikhon HQ. The record was mixed and mastered by Karl Daniel Lidén (Breach, Terra Tenebrosa, The Old Wind). Artwork was created by Emy Rojas of Arrache-toi Un Oeil (Converge, Sunn O))) and Clutch).

The track list and cover art can be found here:

1. Aurora
2. Svalbard
3. Notes From Underground
4. Ildlaante
5. Cape Meteor, Pt 1
6. Cape Meteor, Pt 2

German sea storming extreme metal act Ctulu will release the 4-Track EP entitled “Cultus in Tenebris” on October 6th in the U.S. via Static Tension Recordings.

“Cultus in Tenebris” was recorded at the same time as the 2016 selt-titled album. Ctulu wanted to reduce both these works to minimum duration while containing maximum quality. The band has never before filtered so many ideas that didn’t make it on the final release.

“Cultus in Tenebris” is a concept EP that tries to catch the spirit of Necronomicon rituals. It is a gathering of exotic weirdness, of seeing in the dark, of praising the old, capricious, mad and wild gods. This is Ctulu’s first genuine U.S. release.

More information on the EP is expected soon. The artwork can be seen here:
