Swedish power metal act Twilight Force announced the sudden departure of vocalist Christian Eriksson a/k/a “Chrileon.” The band promises to proceed with no interruption, naming ReinXeed vocalist Tommy Johannsson (guitarist for Sabaton) as temporary replacement for upcoming shows and while the band seeks a permanent replacement.

The announcement reads: “Dear friends, followers and apprentices. We now bring you tidings of great importance. So please, stay a while, and listen.

“Our singer Chrileon is no longer a part of Twilight Force.

“The Twilight Kingdoms have been ravaged by turbulent times. Twilight Force has in recent times travelled far and wide, searching answers to ancient conondrums and mystical prophecies.
We have done battle numerous times during these journeys; and always fought back to back, ever resilient, and ever prosperous.

“Everything to bring back order, peace and magic to the Twilight Kingdoms.

“It has now become apparent to us, that somewhere along this perilous journey, Chrileon fell victim to the Forcelord’s dark soul magic. And alas, his mind was easily enticed by these deceitful whispers of darkness, until the day eventually came, when Chrileon’s spirit was completely obscured by blackness and avarice.

“He secretly spawned minions of beguiling charm to aid him in his battle, and now, in the eleventh hour, Chrileon forsook his vow to stand by our side in the battles to come. Hence, Chrileon has inevitably forfeited his birthright to the Emerald Throne, and is unfit to rule the Kingdoms as a beacon of twilight.

“We know this might seem like grave news to some of our brave Knights. But fear not! The future endeavours of Twilight Force will NOT be affected in any way, shape or form by the departure and fall of Chrileon. His compositional and musical contributions to Twilight Force has always been nonexistent. So the sights, sounds, and sparkling musical landscapes of Twilight Force will forever remain utterly and completely unaffected.

“We will now begin the exciting adventure of searching the kingdoms for a worthy and mighty successor to Chrileon, to carry onwards the Crystal of Emerald Fire!

“Also, the forthcoming journey together with Dragonforce will commence as planned with a temporary, albeit gloriously mighty and renowned replacement! It will be none other than our good friend Tommy Johansson (Sabaton, ReinXeed).

“Just to make it clear, [Tommy] is not the new singer of Twilight Force; the stars fortunately aligned perfectly so that the touring schedule of Sabaton did not collide with our adventures together with Dragonforce.

“We will respond to inquires in the comments to the best of our abilities.”

Toronto’s Nervcast announced the forthcoming debut EP “Locked And Loaded,” which due out on October 21st. The band will be performing a series of Ontario dates in October and November (dates listed below) in support of the EP.

Just as the title describes, this EP introduction from the band is full of four hard hitting tracks that are catchy and have lyrics that are relevant. The EP was mastered by Joey Sturgis (Asking Alexandra, The Devil Wears Prada) plus produced/engineered by Collin Young (Animal Faces, Godstopper, Yonder Peak) and captures the band’s love for classic rock while maintaining today’s standard in modern production.

The band’s music video for their first single “Fallen Angels” can be viewed in the player below. Vocalist / guitarist Everett Mason comments: “I would like to introduce the world to our brand new band Nervcast. This video is for our debut song “Fallen Angels” off our upcoming EP “Locked And Loaded”. The video features British actor Paul Mason and in the storyline kidnaps the band and holds us captive while we perform a classical arrangement of our song. In Paul’s mansion, he has installed a jail cell in the basement where he keeps us as prisoners until he wants us to perform for him. We had a lot of fun working with the talented Aaron Alter, who put this whole video together.”

The EP track list is:

1. Chemical Solution
2. Fallen Angels
3. Moonstruck
4. Locked And Loaded

As Translation Loss Records prepares “Cutting Pieces,” the third LP by New York City-based Gnaw for release at the end of the month, No Clean Singing has undertaken the task of issuing the album’s lead track, “Rat” which you can check out over here, or simply by staying here and clicking the player below.

Gnaw was created by vocalist Alan Dubin following the dissolution of Khanate. Closing a four-year gap since the acclaimed second album, “Horrible Chamber,” Gnaw’s “Cutting Pieces” dredges forth some of the outfit’s most unnerving audio assaults yet. The seismic atrocities and haunting intricacies on “Cutting Pieces” leaves an instantly damaging, long-lasting impression, their cumulative decimation producing some of the outfit’s most cinematic terror to date.

Gnaw commented on the new single, “‘Rat’ was conceived in individual heliocentric hallucinations as we each submerged ourselves in separate self-deprecation chambers. We feel it is a perfect album lead-off song. It’s visual. It feels like an entrance to a dark recess.”

Translation Loss will release “Cutting Pieces” on LP, CD, and digital formats on October 27th; find pre-orders over at this location.
