Quality fan-filmed video footage of STEEL PANTHER‘s March 12 performance at 013 in Tilburg, The Netherlands can be seen below.

STEEL PANTHER is the ’80s metal/hard rock tribute band formerly known as METAL SKOOL. Onstage, the band both pays tribute to and lampoons the heyday of ’80s glam metal. The group’s between-song comedy includes jests at conflict between bandmembers, discussions of drugs, sex, and improvised humor with the crowd.

Regarding naysayers that say STEEL PANTHER is a joke-metal band, the group’s drummer Stix Zadinia told the South Bend Tribune: “Listen to our record and tell us that our songs aren’t better than most of the bands out there. How funny is that? At the end of the day, it comes down to the songs. I think our songs — without sounding egotistical — I think our songs are great. When you hear the hooks in our songs, you hear the playing and you hear the vocals, you throw that up against any band in any era, and I think it stands up.”

STEEL PANTHER will release its third full-length album, “All You Can Eat”, in the United States on April 1 on Open E Records via Kobalt Label Services (KLS). The 12-song CD, which was produced by Jay Ruston (ANTHRAX, ADRENALINE MOB), is available for pre-order at SteelPantherRocks.com.

Italian melodic metallers Lacuna Coil have announced that they are heading back to the studio to record album number seven!

“I am so excited to work on new stuff,” says singer Cristina Scabbia. “I am sure a lot of people will be mesmerized by the cinematic vibe of the new album that’s underway. I’m very happy to have the chance to work with Jay. Not only is he a pro in what he does, but I am just loving the fact we are going to experiment with new sounds and are getting a different point of view about our art. We’re swamped with the music already… LACUNA COIL is back baby!!!”

“We met Jay [Baumgardner, producer] a few years ago in L.A. and had a really positive feeling about him, as he has produced and mixed some of my favourite records and some very relevant rock/metal albums,” adds co-vocalist Andrea Ferro. “We have decided to work with him, because he has the ability to work together with the band towards a common vision without driving the band away from their sound.  In the studio there is the right energy that allows common people to achieve uncommon results!”

The follow-up to last year’s Dark Adrenaline will likley land in early-mid 2014, with the Italians set to support Paradise Lost on their upcoming UK tour. Dates are as follows:

30.10.2013 (UK) Wolverhampton – Wulfrun Hall
31.10.2013 (UK) Glasgow – O2 ABC
01.11.2013 (UK) Manchester – Ritz
03.11.2013 (UK) London – Roundhouse
