The band also commented: “Rising from the ashes of all that is doomed, Dresden/Leningrad is here to bring an ode to those who gave their life to The Father. The riff marches, the devil’s song buzzes over the battlefield that is bombarded by the kettledrums of hell. Tread the tracks of your fallen brothers, Dresden/Leningrad is your leading light through No Man’s Land.”

Amsterdam’s Conteched, ever in character as a “corporate metal” act, has issued the following announcement about calling it quits:

“The press officer of Conteched dislikes to give the following statement:

Conteched passed on.
Conteched is no more.
Conteched ceased to be.
Conteched expired and gone to meet it’s maker.
Conteched is a stiff
Conteched rests in peace (thanks a lot mr Cleese).

“After a bombardment of job applications by Mr. Phil A., who applied to every post available within Conteched for the last 2 years, the three CEO’s left in Conteched called it quits. Thanks to all customers who enjoyed our products, and witnessed some good takeovers! We wish you all the best and maybe who knows.”

Amsterdam’s Obsidian has posted the following statement online about deciding to call it quits:

“Sad but inevitable news from Obsidian. After more than a year of searching for inspiration and energy to re-ignite the metal machine, the oil would not flow anymore. After our latest release ‘Point of Infinity’ we noticed that our musical focus had shifted.

“We thought about (and tried) changing our direction, creating a new set list. Basically to start over again. But we could not find the energy needed to pull something like this off. Individually we still spend a lot of time in making music, so our creative hearts won’t stop beating, although it might not be for the same genre in some cases.

“So, from the more than a few bands called Obsidian, there will be one less. We hope that people have enjoyed the music we brought out and urge people to not harm themselves in light of this new perspective of a world without Obsidian. We want to thank everybody who helped Obsidian directly or by just making wind by hair to our music.

“Can’t get enough of our mugs? Follow Obsidian band members via: Anatomy of I, Cilice, Disavowed, Space Flakes, Tangent, or The Fiber.”
