SHINEDOWN kicked off the 2013 edition of the Carnival Of Madness tour this past Sunday (August 11th) at the Stone Pony Summerstage in Asbury Park, New Jersey, with SKILLET, SEVENDUST, IN THIS MOMENT and WE AS HUMAN also on the bill. While SHINEDOWN has been on the road steadily since the March 2012 release of its fourth studio album, “Amaryllis”, drummer Barry Kerch told The Pulse Of Radio that the hard-working group isn’t going to take a break after the Madness tour winds down. “It’s definitely, I would think, towards the waning side of the ‘Amaryllis’ cycle, but we still have a lot of work that we want to do with the record,” he said. “We still have singles that are gonna be put out, I know we still want to do an acoustic tour on this record. So we still have a lot more work to do, and with this tour just beginning, I guarantee we’re touring for the rest of the year.”

Loudwire wrote about SHINEDOWN‘s opening night set, “Frontman Brent Smith looks and sounds better than ever. The band as a whole was solid . . . it’s no surprise why the band continues to headline major festivals year after year.”

According to The Pulse Of Radio, SEVENDUST was a last-minute replacement for PAPA ROACH, who had to bow out due to singer Jacoby Shaddix‘s ongoing vocal issues. Loudwire wrote about the veteran Southern heavy rock act, “With their energy and chemistry onstage, the boys from the South could have easily co-headlined this trek.”

The Carnival Of Madness tour next stops in Canandaigua, New York on Friday (August 16).

Relapse Records is extremely proud to announce the signing of Richmond, VA’s Inter Arma. The label comments: “The group consisting of (T.J. Childers – Drums, Steven Russell – Guitars, Trey Dalton – Guitars, Mike Paparo – Vocals, Joe Kerkes – Bass) formed in 2006 and released their debut full-length Sundown via Forcefield Records in 2010. Combining a punk rock ethos with an esoteric blend of psychedelia, black metal, and doom/sludge, the quintet quickly developed a name for themselves in the underground through relentless touring and mesmerizing live performances.”

The band also commented on the signing: “It’s pretty crazy to think that we’ll be tacitly associated with bands like Neurosis, Amorphis, Human Remains, diSEMBOWELMENT, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Incantation, Mastodon, et al. That’s a pretty high standard to hold yourself to, but we’ll give it our damndest.”

Additionally, the band recently released a brand new 12” EP entitled “Destroyer” via Toxic Assets Records which can currently be streamed at this location. Inter Arma plans to finish recording a second full-length and Relapse debut later this summer for an early 2013 release.
