Rogue Records America has announce the release of the self-titled full-length album from Sweden’s HUMANITY’S LAST BREATH. For fans of MESHUGGAH, VILDHJARTA and progressive death metal searching for another amazingly brutal act to latch on to, HUMANITY’S LAST BREATH is your band.

“Humanity’s Last Breath” is out now on both physical CD (limited-edition digipak) and as a digital download (digital format also includes the entire album as an instrumental version).

The song “Animal”, taken from “Humanity’s Last Breath”, can be streamed in the YouTube clip below.

Bludgeoning your speakers with 13 tracks that grind any brains you have left into a pulp, HUMANITY’S LAST BREATH once again sets the bar in the death metal genre, showing the progression of not only the band but the limits of what one can do with metal itself. Chugging riffs, thunderous drums, pounding bass and banshee-like vocals take the listener through a more groove-oriented sound than the band’s last release.

HUMANITY’S LAST BREATH was formed in 2009 by drummer Buster Odeholm and guitarist Kristoffer Nilsson. They previously released two EPs, “Reanimated By Hate” (2009) and “Structures Collapse” (2011).

HUMANITY’S LAST BREATH is:

Marcus Hultqvist – Vocals
Kristoffer Nilsson – Guitar
Stefan Bengtsson – Bass Guitar
Buster Odeholm – Drums

Swedish heavy rockers GRAND MAGUS have entered the studio to begin recording the follow-up to last year’s “The Hunt” for an early 2014 release via Nuclear Blast. The band is once again working with producer Nico Elgstrand and engineer Staffan Karlsson (ARCH ENEMY, SPIRITUAL BEGGARS) at Studio Sweetspot in Halmstad.

Commented GRAND MAGUS drummer Ludwig “Ludde” Witt: “The time has come! Warriors! Things have been quiet around here recently, you know us well enough to know that we haven’t been sitting around idly though… We have finished writing our new album and we enter the studio!!! Monday the 2 of September marks the start of our new journey. The result will be something to behold. That is a promise. You want something heavy? You’ll get it. This will be our strongest album to date.”

Added the entire band: “The MAGUS have been busy bees with an elaborate pre-production phase, meaning that we have demoed all the tracks and it certainly pays off now. The recordings proper started off this Monday and we already have some killer basic tracks brewing. We are working simultaneously on several tracks to ensure flow and proper impact. It feels like it’s going to be something extremely powerful this time… The drums are killer and with the perfect touch we’ve learned to expect from Ludwig, there will be a wall of ferocious guitars and grinding bass guitar that will shake the bowels. Among other things we worked today on ‘Holmgång’, which has a lot of riffing going on and we think the guitar sound is the best we’ve ever had on a recording. Pure power!”

“The Hunt” was released in Europe on May 25, 2012 via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD’s cover artwork was created by Arik Roper (CATHEDRAL, HIGH ON FIRE, SLEEP), who also handled the art on GRAND MAGUS“Iron Will” LP.

Due to family obligations and work commitments, drummer Sebastian “Seb” Sippola left GRAND MAGUS last year.

The governor of Jakarta, Indonesia, Joko Widodo, attended the band’s August 25 concert in the city — 25 years to the day after the release of the band’s fourth album, “…And Justice For All”, and more than 20 years after their tumultuous first show in Indonesia.

“I am happy and satisfied with the concert,” Widodo said after the show. “No one got out of control last night. We showed them that Jakarta citizens are all dignified. We could rock the night away in an orderly fashion.”

60,000 Indonesian metal fans attended Sunday’s concert, where more than 2,000 security personnel were deployed.

METALLICA‘s last show in Indonesia took place in 1993 — at the peak of the band’s commercial popularity while they were on the road supporting the mega-selling “black” album. One of the biggest shows that Indonesia had ever hosted, it ended with a riot that saw angry fans — many of whom were trying to get into the concert for free — burning cars and destroying public property, as well as sustaining countless physical injuries while fighting with the police.

Back in May, Widodo had to turn over his autographed METALLICA bass guitar to the government temporarily, while authorities determined whether the instrument was merely a gift or a violation of ethics rules. Widodo received the bass from METALLICA bassist Robert Trujillo, but had to give it up to the state within 30 days, according to laws regarding gifts to state officials.

Former METALLICA bassist Jason Newsted performed the classic METALLICA song “Phantom Lord” with MEGADETH last night (Sunday, August 11) at the final show of this summer’s Gigantour in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Check out fan-filmed video footage of his appearance below.

Newsted, who quit METALLICA in February 2001, is the frontman of a new band, simply called NEWSTED, which took part in this year’s edition of Gigantour, the critically acclaimed package festival founded in 2005 by MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine.

Speaking to Artisan News at the August 6 NEWSTED signing session at Looney Tunes in West Babylon, New York, Jason stated about how the idea for the jam came about: “It was mostly created by kind of rumor and agents and managers and things like that early on when we were putting together the structure of this tour, that ‘maybe you and Jay can play a song.’ It was never something that I said or that Dave said, it was [something] that managers said to us.”

He continued: “I’m open to jam with anybody whenever anybody wants to jam — I think that’s not really a secret or nothing — so if the dude calls out ‘Phantom Lord’, I’ll sing or play bass guitar or whatever he wants; that’s all fine.

“As a fan, jamming with Dave, coming from back here… ‘Cause I was a fan of Dave before we were brothers and peers and stuff like that. So, man, if he wants to jam, I’m open to that, of course.”

Mustaine previously hinted that he would invite Newsted up on stage to perform a song Dave co-wrote during his short tenure with the band.

Addressing his followers on Twitter, Mustaine wrote: “If I play a song I wrote in @Metallica w/@JasonCNewsted, which should it be?”

Mustaine then listed the following METALLICA tracks for fans to choose from:

* Ride The Lightning
* The Call Of Ktulu
* Metal Militia
* Phantom Lord
* Jump In The Fire
* The Four Horsemen

Mustaine, who was one of the original members of METALLICA, was fired from the band by drummer Lars Ulrich in 1983. He was replaced by Kirk Hammett and went on to form MEGADETH and achieve worldwide success on his own.
