Belgium’s leading black metal force ENTHRONED returns with a new studio album entitled “Sovereigns”. The follow-up to 2012′s critically acclaimed “Obsidium” is scheduled for an April 15 release via Agonia Records.

The album will be available in: digipack CD, black vinyl, bone-white vinyl with green splatter limited to 100 hand-numbered copies and exclusive box CD limited to 333 hand-numbered copies (including the new album released in exclusive jewel-case edition, embroidered patch (8 cm x 10 cm), flag (42 cm x 59.4 cm) and a lighter with band’s logo).

“MK Ondergrond” (meaning “Underground” in Afrikaans) conducted an interview with DEFTONES singer Chino Moreno prior to the band’s August 10 performance at the Oppikoppi Festival 2013 in South Africa. You can now watch the chat below.

“MK Ondergrond” (Facebook page) is South Africa’s first dedicated underground music variety show, hosted by a macabre crew of animated characters, featuring band interviews, video reviews, gig guides and the best in local and international underground music videos.

DEFTONES released several different vinyl editions of its current album, the critically acclaimed “Koi No Yokan”, in January. The four configurations are as follows: a standard retail version pressed on 140-gram black vinyl (3,000 units); a direct-to-consumer version on 180-gram black vinyl with foil-stamped numbered jackets (1,000 units); an international edition pressed on 180-gram vinyl; and an exclusive edition sold through Hot Topic retailers pressed on 140-gram clear-colored vinyl (1,500 units).

“Koi No Yokan”, the band’s seventh studio album, was released November 13, 2012 via Warner Bros Records. It debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, with over 65,000 copies sold first week. Revolver declared it their “Album of the Year,” Spin selected it as one of its Top 50 Albums of 2012 (and its No. 5 Metal Album Of The Year), the New York Post hailed it as “one of the best rock albums of the year,” and Penthouse said “If you hear an album this year that combines the ferocious and the sublime as well as DEFTONES‘Koi No Yokan’, please write us an email and flag it ‘urgent.’”

U.K.-based avant-garde metal outfit CODE will release its third album, “Augur Nox”, on November 19 in Europe and November 26 in North America via Agonia Records.

“Augur Nox” is the first album featuring CODE‘s new lineup of Aort, Wacian, Syhr, LORDt and Andras. The brand-new material demonstrates the band’s fresh personnel in a vivid light, confirming CODE‘s position as a radiant gem in the extreme metal world. It displays a multifaceted approach: from stunning wide-ranging vocals, otherworldly clean passages, and barbed metallic riffery, all filtered through a refined prism of avant-garde black metal. The album is CODE‘s most progressive effort to date, yet always captures the band’s distinct eerie and arcane vibe.

Featuring ten tracks and 2 interludes over a 55-minute playing time, “Augur Nox” is a bold step forward where acute songwriting and expansive experimentation go hand in hand.

CODE‘s sound has been both refined and exaggerated at the same time, to produce a melodically dense and ambitious piece of work. The band describes the forthcoming release as their “most dynamic and challenging material to date.”

“Augur Nox” was mixed and mastered at Orgone Studios (GHOST, CATHEDRAL, ULVER) in London after three years of development and pre-production.

“Augur Nox” track listing:

01. Black Rumination
02. Becoming Host
03. Ecdysis
04. Glimlight Tourist
- Dx. (interlude)
05. Garden Chancery
06. The Lazarus Cord
07. The Shrike Screw
- Rx. (interlude)
08. Trace of God
09. Harmonies in Cloud
10. White Tryptych

The song “Glimlight Tourist” can be streamed in the YouTube clip below.

The follow-up to 2009′s “Resplendent Grotesque” (nominated for a Spellemann award in the “Best Metal Album” category) will be available in digipack, limited vinyl and digital formats. The vinyl formats include: black vinyl, color in color vinyl (bone white/ultra clean) limited to 100 copies and a further 100 copies on swamp green/ultra clean color in colour vinyl.

A video trailer for the CD can be seen below.
