The Pulse Of Radio reports that Ozzy Osbourne‘s mansion in Buckinghamshire, England has been ruined by flooding during one of the U.K.’s rainiest winters ever. According to the Mirror, the house, which sits on a seven-acre estate, is located in one of the hardest hit areas of the country and now needs more than half a million dollars worth of repairs.

Ozzy‘s wife and manager Sharon said the building was “destroyed,” while Ozzy added, “It’s been completely flooded. The rain has battered down the walls and seeped through everything. There is water everywhere… We can’t even go about getting it fixed because apparently it’s going to take nine months to dry out. The place is ruined.”

The water damage is the latest incident to plague the Osbournes at their English countryside retreat. Others have included Ozzy‘s all terrain vehicle crash in 2003, two fires and a burglary.

While they wait to see if the house in England can be salvaged, the Osbournes will stay at their Los Angeles home — which itself was the site of a small fire in January 2013.

Ozzy begins a short North American tour with BLACK SABBATH on March 31 in Brooklyn, New York.

Multi-camera, fan-filmed video footage of CARCASS‘ entire September 25 performance at Saint Vitus Bar in Brooklyn, New York can be seen below. The footage was filmed by Frank Huang and Frank Godla, and edited by Pit Full Of Shit.

CARCASS‘ new album, “Surgical Steel”, sold around 8,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 41 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was released on September 16 in the U.K., September 13 in the rest of Europe and September 17 in North America via Nuclear Blast Records. The effort was produced by Colin Richardson (FEAR FACTORY, MACHINE HEAD, NAPALM DEATH, SLIPKNOT, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE) and mixed by Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, ACCEPT, EXODUS, ARCH ENEMY).

Joining guitarist Bill Steer and bassist/vocalist Jeff Walker in CARCASS‘ current incarnation are new drummer Dan Wilding (ABORTED, TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED) and guitarist Ben Ash (PIG IRON, DESOLATION, LIQUEFIED SKELETON).

In a recent interview with Chile’s Radio Futuro, Walker stated about the new CARCASS CD: “We think we’ve made a good album, so it’s gonna be very interesting when people get to hear the record. We can’t wait to see what people think.”

He continued: “It sounds like CARCASS. Even the drumming sounds like CARCASS. Everything about it… I think it’s gonna shock people, how good it is. I think it’s got all the elements that people like, yet it still sounds fresh. So that’s all I can say, really, ’cause we don’t really sound like any other band, and the fact that after 17 years, we wrote music and it still sounds like CARCASS, I think it’s good.”

Regarding the direction of the new CARCASS album, Walker previously stated: “We’ve taken stylistic cues from all the albums because it’s in our blood, but it’s no rehash or mess of ideas. I think it sounds almost like the missing link between the third and forth albums but with some groove in there. I’ve jokingly christened some parts ‘trad blast’ and some ‘death sleaze’… don’t think for a minute this is just some nostalgic throwback album — we’re setting up another 17 years of ideas for other bands to copy and clean up on. [laughs]”

Florida death metal veterans OBITUARY will bring their brutal wares to the stage this fall on a short series of live assaults. The tour begins with a pair of back-to-back shows at Brooklyn, New York’s Saint Vitus Bar on October 9 and 10, before flattening nine more venues through October 20.

Having been holed up in their own Redneck Studios the last few weeks penning the follow-up to 2009’s punishing “Darkest Day” full-length (2009), OBITUARY‘s upcoming shows serve as a temporary writing break.

Elaborates drummer Donald Tardy: “We have been busting our asses in the studio, having a blast and writing new material. Twelve songs are done and ready to be recorded but we want a monster album for our fans so we are working on a few more to make this record huge! We will continue writing until October when we will take a break from the studio and new music and go destroy the Trois-Rivieres Metalfest with HATEBREED and crush the U.S.”

OBITUARY tour dates:

Oct. 09 – St. Vitus – Brooklyn, NY
Oct. 10 – St. Vitus – Brooklyn, NY
Oct. 11 – American Legion – Allentown, PA
Oct. 12 – Trois-Rivieres Metalfest – Trois-Rivieres, QC [info]
Oct. 13 – Presidents Club – Boston, MA
Oct. 15 – Beale Street – Indianapolis, IN
Oct. 16 – Pyramid Scheme – Grand Rapids, MI
Oct. 17 – Fubar – St Louis, MO
Oct. 18 – Cobra Lounge – Chicago, IL
Oct. 19 – Cafe 611 – Frederick, MD
Oct. 20 – El N’ Gee – New London, CT

The as-yet-untitled full-length will be recorded with the Kickstarter funding help of their legion of dedicated fans around the globe. The campaign, rooted in an honest desire to produce the next record on their own terms, is in its final week.

“We’ve been creating death metal since 1984,” the band comments. “It’s who we are…it’s in our blood.

“If there’s one thing that we’ve learned touring all these years, it’s that OBITUARY fans are among the most loyal and supportive motherfuckers in the world!

“We’ve been trying to find better ways to engage with and give back to our fans.

“Over the past couple of years, we’ve streamed concerts live from around the globe, given away tons of merch packages and dozens of all-access backstage passes. It’s inspiring to see and share in your excitement about OBITUARY, and the inspiration that provides keeps us going. This is about putting our trust, our music, our career, and our new album in fans’ hands! We want to make music for the people who still come out to shows, still sport our gear, and still have a ‘Slowly We Rot’ cassette in their car.”

“DMSLT”, the new video from A PALE HORSE NAMED DEATH, the band featuring Brooklyn, New York native Sal Abruscato — who played drums on three TYPE O NEGATIVE albums (“Slow, Deep & Hard”, “Origin Of The Feces”, “Bloody Kisses”), as well as four LIFE OF AGONY releases (“River Runs Red”, “Ugly”, “River Runs Again”, “Broken Valley”) — on guitar and vocals, can be seen below.

A PALE HORSE NAMED DEATH‘s sophomore album, “Lay My Soul To Waste”, was released on May 21 in North America, May 24 in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and May 27 in the rest of Europe via Steamhammer/SPV. The group has once again commissioned famed artist Sam Shearon (a.k.a. Mister-Sam; ROB ZOMBIE, FEAR FACTORY, RAMMSTEIN) to create the artwork for the CD, which was mastered on January 17 by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound in New York City.

According to a press release, “Lay My Soul To Waste” “keeps A PALE HORSE NAMED DEATH‘s patented signature formula of slow, deliberate sludge and head-down doom intact and as flawlessly executed as ever. Think ALICE IN CHAINS, only harder, angrier and with a more perverse view of the world, as if they were reared in a row house in Bensonhurst, as opposed to the rainy landscape of Seattle, all the while feasting on a steady diet of BLACK SABBATH records.”

Abruscato is open about the fantasy that dominates his lyrical point of view. He admits that all songs “have a line to reality…things that could and do happen every day.” But like any skilled storyteller, Abruscato likes pushing buttons. His lyrics are no different than the narratives of the horror movie playing at your local multiplex. It’s largely fiction, with some nuggets or kernels of truth embedded within.

Musically, the record matches that pallor and “will hit you in the gut.” There are more harmonies this time out, and the piano is a bit more front and center, while guitarist Eddie Heedles contributed some leads. But for the most part, the formula remained largely untouched. “If it’s not broken, don’t fix it,'” Abruscato said, matter-of-factly. “We wanted to display the advancements, musically and artistically, and retain the core element.”

“Lay My Soul To Waste” track listing:

01. Lay My Soul To Waste
02. Shallow Grave
03. The Needle In You
04. In The Sleeping Death
05. Killer By Night
06. Growing Old
07. Dead Of Winter
08. Devil Came With A Smile
09. Day Of The Storm
10. DMSLT
11. Cold Dark Mourning

A PALE HORSE NAMED DEATH‘s debut album, “And Hell Will Follow Me”, came out in 2011.

The band made its live debut on February 20, 2011 at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey as the support act for MONSTER MAGNET and SEVENTH VOID.
