Quality fan-filmed video footage of HELLOWEEN‘s September 23 concert at Stage 48 in New York City can be seen below.

HELLOWEEN is currently taking part in a 10-date North American tour. The band is travelling across the U.S. and Canada, bringing its power hooks and catchy melodies to fans who have yearned to see them since their 2008 tour with GAMMA RAY.

HELLOWEEN‘s new album, “Straight Out Of Hell”, sold around 4,100 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 97 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD entered the Media Control chart in Germany at position No. 4 — the highest chart position in the band’s history. It also landed at No. 4 in Finland and No. 2 on the international album chart in Japan.

“Straight Out Of Hell” was released in Europe on January 18 and in North America on January 22. The cover artwork for the CD was once again created by Martin Häusler, who previously worked with the band on the “7 Sinners” and “Gambling With The Devil” CDs.

“Straight Out Of Hell” was produced by Charlie Bauerfeind, who also worked on “7 Sinners”, and sees the five musicians maintaining a rawer edge throughout, working quickly in the studio (MiSueno Studio in Tenerife) and delivering 13 brand new compositions that, in the words of founding member, guitarist Michael Weikath, will “kick even the laziest listener’s ass!”

ANDI DERIS & BAD BANKERS, the new project led by HELLOWEEN/ex-PINK CREAM 69 frontman Andi Deris, has completed mixing and mastering its debut album. Andi states: “We are so happy with the result we can’t wait you guys out there finally hear it, too. Great, crispy sound… modern but not tooooo modern… the way it should be, in my humble ears.”

Andi previously stated about the new project: “It’s been years I was looking for a band (all over the planet) that I could actually ask to record an album with me, only to find it on the little island I live on just a few months ago. Even more thrilling is the fact that the guys are between 19 and 22 years old. You won’t believe it when you listen to the songs!

“We all had and have a lot of fun with the image, even more during the photo session.

“Obviously, we despise everything around banks, managers and bankers who are clearly responsible for the shit that goes on nowadays (and most certainly in our future), so it felt very good to vocally tell them what we think about them. Sure, therefore it’s highly explicit, but, who gives a f… that’s what they deserve, and it helps the music to really kick some ass.”

Dutch symphonic rockers WITHIN TEMPTATION will release a new EP, “Paradise (What About Us?)”, on September 27 in Europe and on October 1 in North America. In addition to the title cut, the EP will contain demo versions of three brand new songs: “Let Us Burn”, “Silver Moonlight” and “Dog Days”.

Says the band: “By releasing these demos, we want to invite you in our home studio and show how we capture song ideas at an early stage of creating a new album. These demo versions are far from their final sound on the album, but will give you a hint of what we’re working on. It will be fascinating to hear what the end result will sound like, once the album is released.

“We hope to make the waiting time for the new album a little shorter and sweeter with this release.

“It’s so exciting to share the different stages of our music with you.”

Having recently announced their new label home with U.K.-based Dramatico, WITHIN TEMPTATION has signed a licensing deal with Nuclear Blast Entertainment for the North American territory.

“There are very few bands out there today who continually deliver on such a high and consistent level as WITHIN TEMPTATION,” stated Nuclear Blast Entertainment president Monte Conner. “That is why they have such an incredibly loyal worldwide fan base. I am thrilled they chose Nuclear Blast Entertainment as their U.S. partner. Their fans are in for a real treat come later this year!”

Equally excited are WITHIN TEMPTATION‘s vocalist Sharon den Adel and guitarist Robert Westerholt, who comment: “We were looking for a partnership with a passionate and artist-minded company. Monte Conner, Markus Staiger [label owner], and the people at Nuclear Blast exactly fit this profile.”

WITHIN TEMPTATION members are currently working on the follow-up to 2011’s “The Unforgiving”, which debuted at No. 50 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, achieved the band’s highest-ever chart position in the U.S. and U.K., and landed in the Top 5 on the European Billboard chart. “The Unforgiving” also debuted in the Top 10 in twelve different countries. The Dutch group has amassed four Netherlands Export Awards, more than 30 gold and platinum sales awards, two MTV European Music Awards, two World Music Awards, and numerous international accolades.

Westerholt in 2011 announced that he would step down from touring duties in order to focus on taking care of the three children he has with Sharon den Adel. His replacement on stage is Stefan Helleblad, who had been working with the group behind the scenes for a few years.

Swedish metal veterans ENTOMBED have inked a deal with Century Media Records. The band’s new album, “Back To The Front”, will be released on October 29 (one day earlier internationally). Check out the CD cover artwork below.

ENTOMBED recently teamed up with PledgeMusic to launch a reissue campaign for some of their albums.

In earl 2012, Threeman Recordings, which is owned and run by members of ENTOMBED, launched a collaboration with Ninetone Records. The first release under this arrangement was a single for the re-recorded version of the song “Amok” from ENTOMBED‘s 2007 album, “Serpent Saints – The Ten Amendments”, produced by Patrik Frisk (CORRODED).

“Serpent Saints – The Ten Amendments” was released in the U.S. on July 31, 2007 via Candlelight/Threeman Recordings. The 10-song effort marked the group’s first release with drummer Olle Dahlstedt (ALPHA SAFARI, ex-MISERY LOVES CO.), who replaced Peter Stjärnvind in 2006. Mastering duties were handled by Soren Elofsson at Cosmos Mastering in Stockholm, Sweden.

“Serpent Saints – The Ten Amendments” entered the Swedish national chart at position No. 3. This was the highest chart position in the band’s career.

The current lineup of ENTOMBED features Victor Brandt (TOTALT JÄVLA MÖRKER, AEON, SATYRICON) and second guitarist Nico Elgstrand (who previously played bass for the group).

Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe has posted the following message through his official Twitter account about the sales success of his band’s latest album “Resolution.”

“Thanks to all the people congratulating us for #3 chart spot in the US for “Resolution”! It’s pretty cool- we are proud of the record! This confirms something that @MarkDuaneMorton & I have been saying for a couple of years in the press, trying to explain to people about the difference of metal/hc fans- that the music is much more of a LIFESTYLE thing than regular pop “music”. Being involved in this scene runs deeper than just tunes- it provides a social group, I believe composed of primarily folks who think DIFFERENTLY than the status quo.

“To me, coming up in the HC/Punk scene was so much more than just records- it was friends where I had none before, an escape from the bullshit of normal life that I was totally fed up with. I believe that the metal scene is approaching that paradigm today- its smart, starting to become politically & socially aware. The metal fans also flat out SUPPORT their scene more as well, by going to shows even in tough economic times, and buying records to try and support the artists who make our music…

“The record industry is BROKEN, and a new model HAS to occur-there is no denying that. But I feel that the metal/hc/punk fans will embrace that new model & support the artists in a way that pop fans will not, or perhaps will do so only grudgingly. Here are some figures for y’all that illustrate what I’m talking about, that shows that metal fans still support the artists. Our record Wrath debuted at #2. Resolution debuted at #3. Wrath soundscanned 68,000 copies during release week. Resolution scanned over 52,000 copies first week. Now, you may look at these #’s and say “Wow, their chart position & sales have declined. Their fan base must be getting smaller.”

“NOT AT ALL. Consider this- album to album sales ACROSS the board are down approximately 40%. This is due to a bad economy and (ahem) downloading. Lamb of god’s album sales are down only about 20%. Take the guy with the #2 slot, Tim McGraw. His last record came in at 139,000 copies. His record that debuted last week came in at 69,000. That is about a FIFTY PERCENT DROP. So while he sold more records than us, his drop in sale was FAR LARGER than ours. It’s the norm EVERYONE on the charts.

“Everyone except……..yup, you guessed it, some of the more underground types of bands. During our second week, we can expect to see an 80% drop in sales. This is because we have a hardcore fan base who actually went out & got the record, most probably did ON THE DAY OF RELEASE. We aren’t a big radio band. We don’t have “hits” or AirPlay to drive us along the charts. But we have a fan base that will exist long after machine has EATEN the latest pop sensation and spit them out. How many pop singers have 17 year careers that keep growing? Not many.

“Flash in the pan bullshit. So we thank you for your support. We thank you for supporting our music. When I say “our” music, I mean OUR music- it’s YOUR music as well as lamb of god’s. Otherwise we would’t be where we are. Thanks again, and I’ll see ya in the pit.”
