Vanna is currently on tour with IWrestledABearOnce, Oceano, Within The Ruins, The Plot In You, and Surrounded By Monsters. Vanna has now checked in with the following statement about missing tonight’s previously scheduled New York show:

“Attention upstate NY fans: We regret to inform you that we will NOT be playing the show tonight at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park, NY.

“This morning our singer/guitarist Joel had to go to the hospital for some serious illnesses. He is on medication now and sleeping all day, as a concert environment is no place for a sick, contagious person. We intend to join back up with the tour tomorrow in West Springfield, VA @ Empire.

“The rest of the tour package will still be playing the show tonight so please attend and support them as it will be a great show. Sorry for the inconvenience and last minute cancellation but we hope you all understand.”

“Beyond our wildest dreams, and they can get pretty kinky, we were almost completely 100 % satisfied with this years GWAR-B-Q,” said lead singer Oderus Urungus, reached at his Antarctic bungalo. “Everything went well, except that hottie from Attack of the Show didn’t show up…but I suppose that is understandable. We did feed her to a worm last year!”

From everything to the weather (which was an enjoyable 85 degrees), to the authorities (who seemed to be enjoying themselves), to the bands (who all put on amazing sets), all conditions were in perfect alignment and the much-anticipated event went off without a hitch…well, almost.

Slave Pit spokesman Dave Brockie had this to say about the event: “The ‘Meat and Beat’ went great, and Oderus stayed in the area an extra three hours to make sure everybody got to hang out with their Lord and Master. It was a great line-up of great bands, and we got to see both Sleazy P. AND The Sexecutioner! It was a huge improvement over last year (when we didn’t even manage to have it outside) – we made big strides this year and I am sure next year we will get even bigger and better. Rest assured any hiccups we had have been noted and will be sorted out for next year’s event…so see ya at GWAR-B-Q 2013!”

California’s Devildriver is preparing to hit the road one final time in North America in support of latest release “Beast.” The tour is scheduled to kick off October 7th in Grand Junction, Colorado with a string of headlining dates before the band meets up with GWAR on October 12th in Philadelphia, PA to start the “Fate or Chaos” tour. Devildriver will also play select headline dates during off days of the tour with GWAR. A complete list of tour dates can be found below.

Frontman Dez Fafara commented on the upcoming tour with GWAR: “Devildriver was going to take some time off from our touring schedule in October and November, but when we were asked to support GWAR, it was a resounding YES in our Camp!

“The GWAR tour we did is still the most fun the band and I have ever had on a run and we are all excited and looking forward to these shows. Our crowds go together well and it will be Halloween Season so it seems appropriate and fitting we should be out on the road at this time and with a timeless act like The All Mighty GWAR! HAIL to the Devils Duo about to ride together again!”

Devildriver recently announced its signing to Napalm Records. Following this tour, the band will take some time off and will then head out for a European tour in February of 2013. Look for the band to be back with their new album and Napalm Records debut in 2014.

Heavy metal legends Iced Earth will be touring North America starting next week, hitting the road with Volbeat, Hellyeah and The Sixxis for an extensive 5-week trek. The group will be touring in support of their 10th studio album “Dystopia.”

In regards to this upcoming tour, Jon Schaffer (rhythm, lead and acoustic guitars/backing vocals) comments: “I’m completely stoked, Volbeat is one of my all-time favorite bands, and Michael and the boys are great people. There is a lot of mutual respect and admiration, and I think we are in for a hell of a good time! This will be a package that won’t soon be forgotten, I’m sure of that.”

To commemorate the tour, Iced Earth are releasing a limited tour edition of “Dystopia.” Currently available only at the merchandise stands on the tour, the 2-disc Dystopia Tour Edition contains the original full-length album, as well as b-side covers of Iron Maiden “The Trooper” and Black Sabbath “Mob Rules,” as well as the classic 17-minute Iced Earth track “Dante’s Inferno” re-recorded with vocalist Stu Block. The bonus disc also contains both music videos from “Dystopia” – the title track and “Anthem” – as well as a ‘Making of Dystopia’ studio interview with the band, and exclusive cell phone skins and desktop backgrounds.
