Trent’s Back, BayBay!

Trent Reznor has confirmed that Nine Inch Nails have signed to Columbia and will release a brand new album this year!

“I’ve been less than honest about what I’ve really been up to lately,” says Trent in a press release. “For the last year I’ve been secretly working non-stop with Atticus Ross and Alan Moulder on a new, full-length Nine Inch Nails record, which I am happy to say is finished and frankly fucking great. This is the real impetus and motivation behind the decision to assemble a new band and tour again. My forays into film, HTDA and other projects really stimulated me creatively and I decided to focus that energy on taking Nine Inch Nails to a new place. Here we go!”

The 2013 incarnation of NIN features Reznor, Adrian Belew of King Crimson, and Josh Eustis of Telefon Tel Aviv, as well as previous NIN collaborators Robin Finck, Alessandro Cortini, and Ilan Rubin.

The band play Reading and Leeds in August.

Norwegian black metal veterans Gorgoroth have announced that vocalist, Pest, has been fired from the band with immediate effect after he refused to make the band his top priority. The band will still be honouring its touring comittments however. A message from the group reads as follows:

“Out of respect for and loyalty to Gorgoroth’s audience and collaborators, Infernus (guitar) has kicked Pest out of the band, effective immediately. This after Pest informed the band that he would not be prioritizing doing the upcoming Latin American tour after all, just two weeks before the band was set to depart for Brazil.

“Infernus has decided that the tour will go on as planned, though, and Hoest of Taake will replace Pest as vocalist on the tour starting on September 7th.

“As for the next Gorgoroth studio album, Instinctus Bestalis, vocal duties will be handled by a Serbian Satanist known as Atterigner, of the band Triumfall (Forces of Satan Records).”
