Singer Josh Todd of Californian rockers BUCKCHERRY was interviewed by Terrie Carr for the latest edition of “Box Of Rock” on WDHA-FM 105.5 FM, the rock music station licensed to Dover and Morristown, New Jersey. You can now watch the chat below.

BUCKCHERRY has completed work on a new EP that will follow up last year’s “Confessions” album. Todd revealed the news in an interview with PopCultureMadness.com, saying, “We just made an EP that we’re gonna be releasing in the spring that we’re really excited about. I don’t wanna give it away yet, but there’s definitely a theme to this EP, and if you’re a BUCKCHERRY fan, it’s a must-have. So it’s really cool, and probably one the funnest times I’ve had writing songs.”

Todd admitted that the band continues to make records despite the fact that CD sales across the board continue to decline. He explained, “The record will go away at some point, because it’s a single-driven market now. Everybody’s going on iTunes and they just buy the songs that they like — that’s it. They don’t buy records. I mean, you see it all the time now, even in pop music — (there’ll be) a big pop single, and they’ll sell millions of singles, and then the record drops and they sell, like, 15,000 units.”

BUCKCHERRY guitarist Keith Nelson told The Pulse Of Radio a while back that he wasn’t discouraged by CD sales. “I believe in the album as an artform,” he said. “I don’t think that putting two songs that are gonna be played on the radio and then a bunch of filler stuff — that’s not why we do this. But I have lost faith in the number of records sold as an indicator of success, because our audience is growing, our business is growing. Nothing has receded, except the actual number of physical records that are sold. So I don’t think that’s a true indication of our success.”

Todd said in his interview that BUCKCHERRY has to tour more than ever to make up for the lack of CD sales, revealing, “You’ve gotta be on the road if you wanna make a living at this. There’s no longer these days where you drop a single and sell millions of records and go out and tour for six months and then you can just chill and enjoy your life.”

BUCKCHERRY‘s sixth studio album, 2013’s “Confessions”, sold 18,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 20 on The Billboard 200 chart.

MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil stopped by the KVVU Fox 5 studios in Las Vegas on August 26 to discuss the band’s upcoming second residency at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel Casino and eventual farewell tour. You can watch video footage of his appearance below.

Asked about reports that that the final chapter for MÖTLEY CRÜE could come as early as 2016, after the film version of the group’s biography, “The Dirt: Confessions Of The World’s Most Notorious Rock Band”, gets completed, an accompanying album is released and yet one more tour around the globe, Vince said: “We just think it’s kind of that time — to do one big push. The tour will last, like, two years. And kind of go out on top. I mean, we’ve been together, actually, 32 years, and by the time we finish up, it’ll be 35 years. So that’s a good enough run.”

Vince also insisted that MÖTLEY CRÜE‘s retirement will be for “real” and that they won’t hold multiple farewell tours like certain other acts.

“There are some bands that are on their fifth and sixth farewell tour,” Vince said. “Nah, we’re not gonna do that. I’m not gonna say we would never get back together and do some concerts or something — we wanna keep that open — but we’re not gonna do a farewell tour and then a couple of years later go, ‘Ah, never mind.'”

MÖTLEY CRÜE will return to Las Vegas for an exclusive twelve-show engagement September 18 through October 6 at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

In a brand new interview with The Oakland Press, MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil was asked about bassist Nikki Sixx‘s recent statement that the final chapter for the band could come as early as 2016, after the film version of MÖTLEY CRÜE‘s biography, “The Dirt: Confessions Of The World’s Most Notorious Rock Band”, gets completed, an accompanying album is released and yet one more tour around the globe.

“It’s definitely for real,” confirmed Neil. “We want to go out on top. We don’t want to be one of those bands that people are like, ‘Oh, they’re playing a … little club now. We still sell out arenas and do stadium shows and stuff like that, and that’s how we want to be remembered.

“It’s just time. Mick‘s [Mars, guitar] health is not that good, and touring is tough on him. I’m sure in five, 10 years’ time we’ll probably do something together again, but it’s not gonna be like a KISS farewell to the farewell to the farewell tour. We’re not gonna be like that.”

Neil also said that he plans to have his next solo album out by the time the CRÜE calls it quits.

“I’m planning to release something maybe before the end of the MÖTLEY run,” he said. “That way it would come out right toward the end of that, and I can just go straight from MÖTLEY and continue touring on that (solo album). That’s the idea now, at least. It’s a ways away, still.”

Buckcherry have released an official video for “Nothing Left But Tears”, the latest single from the band’s new album ‘Confessions’.

The video for the song “Nothing Left But Tears” from Californian rockers BUCKCHERRY can be seen below. The clip was directed by Daniel Andres Gomez Bagby and is the first in the band’s career to not feature them in a performance setting — instead, each of the members personifies one of the seven deadly sins… the same deadly sins that inspired the band’s new album, “Confessions”.

“It’s evil, powerful, creepy and fun — it’s an incredible piece of art,” says frontman Josh Todd of the video, with Gomez adding, “we’re taking a step into the dark and seeing what happens afterwards.”

States Gomez about the ambitious video project: “It opens in a roadside motel where there was a murder-suicide, and the video is the aftermath. Our character comes back from the dead and walks into a tunnel that is the pathway to hell and ends up in an ‘Alice In Wonderland’-meets-‘Dante’s Inferno’ tea party where six of the seven deadly sins are having a party in the middle of the forest — our interpretation of hell.”

Says guitarist Keith Nelson: “There are so many cool characters in the video, and it’s the first video where we didn’t play instruments. It was a lot of fun to do something different.”

Produced by Los Angeles-based Marco De Molina and his Veva Entertainment company, a behind-the-scenes featurette shot throughout the making of the video can be seen below.

“Nothing Left But Tears” comes off BUCKCHERRY‘s sixth studio album, “Confessions”, which sold 18,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 20 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was produced by Keith Nelson and Marti Frederiksen (AEROSMITH, OZZY OSBOURNE) and features eclectic CD artwork by graffiti artist Ewok. The songs on “Confessions” merge punk grit, gutter attitude, honest storytelling, and razor sharp hooks, while the lyrics are tied together by the underlying theme of the Seven Deadly Sins.

In an interview with Loudwire.com, singer Josh Todd elaborated on the album’s subject matter. Josh explained, “There was a point in my life when I was a youth when I lost a family member and I acted out in my grieving process through the deadly sins, so that’s kind of what the story’s about on the record. I think the seven sins are timeless and that everybody struggles with them in their daily lives all the time.”

The provocative video for the album’s first single, “Gluttony”, was directed by Billy Jayne and filmed in a North Hollywood church.

A two-disc deluxe version of the “Confessions” CD is also available and features the bonus tracks “Give ‘Em What They Want” and “When The Fire Starts”. In addition, a bonus DVD includes the “Gluttony” music video and lyric video, behind-the-scenes footage and band interviews from the set of the “Gluttony” video shoot, and “The Story Behind Confessions” featurette.
