On March 10, Polish tech death masters DECAPITATED entered Hertz Studio in Bialystok, Poland to begin recording their sixth album. The as-yet-untitled CD is set for a release in September via Nuclear Blast.

DECAPITATED‘s forthcoming effort will mark the recording debut of the band’s new drummer, Michal Lysejko, who joined the group in time for their tour with LAMB OF GOD in January.

Commented DECAPITATED guitarist Waclaw “Vogg” Kieltyka: “We would like to share few news with you.

“All you know that we’ve been quite busy lately. We had some personal changes in the band and also we did I guess the best tours we had; with MESHUGGAH, LAMB OF GOD and CHILDREN OF BODOM.

“First of all, we want to introduce you DECAPITATED new drummer Michal Lysejko. Some of you had a chance to meet him already during tour with LAMB OF GOD this January.

“Also I want to say THANK YOU to the rest of the people who took a challenge and sent their video for an audition.

“Also, since January this year, we signed worldwide management contract with Continental Concerts & Management. That’s for sure big step and opportunity for us and big challenge.

“But I guess the most important news for most of you is that after almost nine years we back to Hertz Studio (albums: ‘Nihility’, ‘The Negation’, ‘Organic Hallucinosis’) to record new album which will be released autumn this year. We will inform you about details soon.”

DECAPITATED‘s last album, “Carnival Is Forever”, sold around 2,100 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 11 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

“Carnival Is Forever” was released in North America on July 12, 2011 via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD’s cover art was created by Lukasz Jaszak. The follow-up to 2006’s “Organic Hallucinosis” was recorded at Radio Gdansk Studio in Poland with producer Wacek Kieltyka and engineer Arkadiusz “Malta” Malczewski. Drums were tracked with Daniel Bergstrand (BEHEMOTH, MESHUGGAH, DIMMU BORGIR, KEEP OF KALESSIN, DEFLESHED), who also handled mixing duties.

The official lyric video for the song “Temple Of The Living Dead” from Swedish rockers NOCTUM can be seen below. The track comes off the band’s new album, “Final Sacrifice”, which will be released on October 29 via Metal Blade Records. The cover art was painted by Timo Ketola (SUNN O))), ARKTAU EOS) and fits perfectly with the album’s raw, natural sound.

“Final Sacrifice” is a fictional horror story where each song communicates a portion of the overall narrative. The “final sacrifice” is like a red thread that ties the songs together and is the concept behind the art. “Final Sacrifice” is an analog piece of art in both audio and visual aspects.

In the town of Uppsala, Sweden in the year 2009, a band called SÉANCE was formed. Moving at breakneck speed the band formed in September, recorded a two-song demo after adding guitarist Per Wikström to the lineup in October, and by November had changed their name to NOCTUM. Within those three months, the band signed an LP deal with High Roller Records, and a CD deal with Stormspell Records.

NOCTUM‘s debut album, “The Séance”, was released in September 2010 via High Roller and in December by Stormspell. The band finally embarked on its first European tour in July of 2011, and followed that up with a new EP, “The Fiddler”.

By August of 2011, NOCTUM created enough buzz in the underground to gain the attention of Metal Blade Records, which led to a new worldwide record deal.

With a new record deal in place with a global label, NOCTUM spent the majority of 2012 refining their sound and writing new songs. Their search for original and interesting material led them to a heavier and darker sound. The progression came very naturally for the band and differs from the typical ’70s vibe. The new material successfully evokes a heaviness and emotion one might not expect from a “retro”-sounding band.

NOCTUM toured Europe again in 2012, and then welcomed the addition of drummer Fredrik Jansson after Gustaf‘s departure. Jansson, who spent time in WITCHCRAFT, COUNT RAVEN, and ABRAMIS BRAMA, was added to the lineup in time to record “Final Sacrifice” in April 2013.

“Final Sacrifice” track listing:

01. Conflagration
02. Liberty In Death
03. Resurrected In Evil
04. Deadly Connection
05. Void of Emptiness
06. The Revisit
07. A Burning Will
08. Temple Of The Living Dead
09. Azoth

NOCTUM is:

David Indelöf – Guitar/Vocals
Daniel Johansson – Guitar
Tobias Rosén – Bass
Fredrik Jansson – Drums

MISFITS will debut two all-new studio recordings for the first time anywhere on a special limited-edition 12-inch maxi-single this Halloween.

’90s-era MISFITS “fiend” fave “Descending Angel” has been re-recorded with a brand new 2013 treatment by “The Devil’s Rain” lineup (Jerry Only, Dez Cadena and Eric “Chupacabra” Arce).

The new single features wicked cover art by Jeff Zornow.

The first glimpse of the old-school-inspired, one-color sleeve art, courtesy of Misfits Records, can be seen below.

More news will follow, including details of the flipside track, (hint for die-hard fiends… you’ve only heard the MISFITS perform this track live, but a studio version will soon debut). Also keep your evil eyes peeled for advance word on pre-ordering, highly limited exclusive variant vinyl colorways, and how to get your copy before it even arrives in stores.

MISFITS released their first “proper” live album since the 1980s, “Dea.d. Alive!”, on February 5 on CD and limited-edition 12-inch vinyl plus MP3 card.

With select tracks from the band’s encore set at their hometown show in New Jersey added for good measure, (recorded live on “Devil’s Night,” no less), “Dea.d. Alive!” is an audio Molotov cocktail guaranteed to have bonfires burning bright with pumpkin faces, day or night, all year round. Speakers will virtually melt as a torrential downpour of “Devil’s Rain” engulfs the senses, catapulting you front row center into a jam-packed house of horrors.

The diverse set of modern day MISFITS classics included range from current hits like “Land Of The Dead” and “Curse Of The Mummy’s Hand”, on through all-new live versions of earlier-era material like “Scream!”, “Dig Up Her Bones”, “Helena” and more — recorded live, with a level of precision and intensity garnered in over three decades of horror business. In addition to 13 fiendish faves from the band’s cryptic catalog, the live set also includes a cover version of the anthem “Science Fiction/Double Feature” (from the cult classic “Rocky Horror Picture Show”) performed by the MISFITS for the first time ever on any release!
