Miseo has now inked a deal with Bastardized Recordings for the digital release of the band’s latest EP, and the label comments: “Death metal is their passion. Around famous German death metal bands Lay Down Rotten and Milking the Goatmachine some new projects arise, with the latest development of these hessian musicians being Miseo. With their brutal and misanthropic death metal this band will catch the attention of the scene.” Miseo also comments: “We are proud to announce that Bastardized Recordings will do the digital release of our debut EP ‘The Dead Will Predominate.’ Bastardized Recordings for us is a well known label for years.

An EPK (Electronic Press Kit) for “High Rise”, the debut EP from the new version of STONE TEMPLE PILOTS featuring LINKIN PARK‘s Chester Bennington, can be seen below. The effort will be released on October 8 via 13Star Records.

“High Rise” track listing:

01. Out Of Time
02. Black Heart
03. Same On The Inside
04. Cry Cry
05. Tomorrow

The official lyric video for the song “Black Heart” can be seen below.

“Out Of Time” reached the No. 1 position on both the Mediabase Active Rock and Mainstream Rock chart last month.

“In terms of style, when the DeLeo brothers [Dean and bassist Robert] get in the studio and start writing, they have a very unique way of putting chords together and structures and the type of chord progressions they put together,” Bennington told Fuse News of the writing process in the new STP. “So, in that sense, it’s gonna be undeniably the sound of STP — I mean, they’re the heart and soul of the band. Naturally, I’m not [former STONE TEMPLE PILOTS singer] Scott [Weiland], so I’m not gonna think of the same melodies, I’m not gonna think of the same lyrical content and such, so in that sense, naturally, there’s gonna be a difference in terms of how I interpret what the band puts together musically. I think that’s one of the reasons why we’re so eager to get the [new STONE TEMPLE PILOTS] EP out, because we want people to hear the new direction and feel the vibe of the new music. Because there’s definitely a vibe in that EP that is fresh and it’s new but it still feels very STP.”

He added: “When we started writing, the ideas came so fast; every single day, it semed like there was four or five things that we were all bringing in and contributing in terms of new songs. We could have easily spent three more months on this thing and had a full-length record out. There’s enough material there for us to do that and start getting into the next one. So in terms of the amount of creativity that’s been going on, it’s very healthy.”

STP fired Scott Weiland in February after reuniting with him in 2010 for a series of tours and one self-titled album. The band had previously been on hiatus since 2002, primarily due to the singer’s struggles with drugs and alcohol.

The group sued Weiland in May, accusing him of using the band’s name to advance his solo career, while claiming that his poor performances, late arrivals, and addiction struggles harmed the band’s career.

Weiland has countersued, claiming that the band cannot use the STONE TEMPLE PILOTS name without him.

NEWSTED — the new band featuring former METALLICA, VOIVOD and FLOTSAM AND JETSAM bassist Jason Newsted and STAIND guitarist Mike Mushok — began filming a video for the song “King Of The Underdogs” on Monday, September 16 in Oakland, California. Directing the clip once again is Leon Melas, who previously helmed NEWSTED‘s video for the track “Soldierhead”.

In a recent interview with Revolver magazine, Newsted stated about the lyrical inspiration for “King Of The Underdogs”: “‘King Of The Underdogs’ is kind of a personal thing almost. It’s, like, the highest rated of the underrated. I think people are rooting for me to win as they do with underdogs.”

“King Of The Underdogs” is featured on NEWSTED‘s debut album, “Heavy Metal Music”, which sold nearly 8,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 40 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was made available on August 6 in North America via Chophouse Records/Collective Sounds and August 5 in Europe through Spinefarm Records. Jason told Billboard.com the 11-song album was very similar to the band’s debut EP, “Metal”, which opened with around 6,200 units to debut at No. 62. “The EP was always intended to be the primer, a sampler of what was to come on the LP,” he said. “It’s all metal all the time. It’s not all fast, but it is all heavy.”

Regarding how the material for NEWSTED‘s debut album came together, Jason told Loudwire: “It started out as my seeds for the first eleven songs that I made on my GarageBand thing. I wrote all the tracks — guitars, bass, drums, everything and gave them to Jessie [Farnsworth, guitar] and Jesus [Mendez Jr., drums] and had them go learn it, put their artistry on it and so it was collaborative in that way for the first batch. Like the four songs on the EP came from that initial eleven, so that’s how those songs went. Each day as we get deeper into the songs, the collaboration gets deeper as well. I have come a long way from my tunnel vision of ‘Only my ideas are good enough’ bullshit, and I’m a lot more open to everyone’s ideas and the artistry of each person to make it what it is. And three heads is better than one and that kind of thing. So it has become more collaborative as we go. I’ve written ten more since that time in October last year and a few of them have made their way onto this LP now. Once again, they were all my seeds, but now that we have Mike Mushok in the band and I give the music to all three of those guys, now I have three great artists bringing back their responses and their counterpoint playing to my ideas, so it’s becoming more and more collaborative every day and on this LP there will be shared writing credits on at least half of the songs with the writing credits now.”

“Heavy Metal Music” track listing:

01. Heroic Dose
02. Soldierhead
03. …As The Crow Flies
04. Ampossible
05. Long Time Dead
06. Above All
07. King Of The Underdogs
08. Nocturnus
09. Twisted Tail Of The Comet
10. Kindevillusion
11. Futureality

NEWSTED took part in this year’s edition of Gigantour, the critically acclaimed package festival founded in 2005 by MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine. Also appearing on the bill were headliners MEGADETH, along with BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, DEVICE, HELLYEAH and DEATH DIVISION.

“Second Chance”, the new video from English rockers GLAMOUR OF THE KILL, can be seen below. The clip was filmed in Los Angeles with director Robby Starbuck, who has previously worked with ASKING ALEXANDRIA, ESCAPE THE FATE and SNOOP DOGG, among others.

Said GLAMOUR OF THE KILL bassist/vocalist Davey Richmond: “Working with Robby on the video was such a great experience and having the opportunity to shoot it in L.A. definitely had the added bonus of standing outside in sun with an ice-cold beer between takes. The heat turned out to be our enemy, though, as we all just looked like melting pale Yorkshiremen the second we started the performance part to the video. Fortunately, we had a great make-up team who managed to disguise this though! We all had such big ideas on how we wanted the video to look and Robby managed to capture that spot-on.”

“Second Chance” comes off GLAMOUR OF THE KILL‘s new album, “Savages”, which will be released on September 24 in the U.S. through eOne Music, September 20 in Germany and September 23 in the rest of Europe through SPV.

Produced by Joey Sturgis (ASKING ALEXANDRIA), this is the first batch of new material we’ve seen from GLAMOUR OF THE KILL since the release of “The Summoning”, which came out in 2011.

The new CD’s first single, “Break” features a guest appearance by VAMPIRES EVERYWHERE! lead singer Michael Vampire.

“Savages” track listing:

01. Break
02. Second Chance
03. The Only One
04. Live For The Weekend
05. A Freak Like Me
06. Heartbreaker
07. Rescue Me
08. Leave It All Behind
09. A Beautiful Day To Die
10. Tears Of The Sun

Fresh off a full U.S. tour with ESCAPE THE FATE and a European tour with PAPA ROACH, GLAMOUR OF THE KILL will be hitting the road with MOTIONLESS IN WHITE and THE DEFILED in the U.K. throughout September before heading back out the Europe with PAPA ROACH in November.

GLAMOUR OF THE KILL has been generating buzz ever since its debut EP, “Through The Dark They March”, came out in 2007. The success of the EP led to tours with BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, DRAGONFORCE, AVENGED SEVENFOLD and most notably a performance on the main stage of Download festival in 2008.

GLAMOUR OF THE KILL is: Davey Richmond (lead vocals, bass), Chris Gomerson (guitar, backing vocals), Mike Kingswood (lead guitar, backing vocals) and Ben Thomson (drums, backing vocals).

– August 29th, 2013 – Rising out of the same Maryland/DC mean streets as fellow US doom pioneers Pentagram and The Obsessed, Iron Man was formed in 1988 as a Black Sabbath tribute band by guitarist Alfred Morris III, whose musical career began in 1977 with mysterious proto-doom cult FORCE. Al’s legendarily heavy, unearthly guitar tone was already much in evidence on FORCE’s ultra-rare 1981 debut EP – and it has only deepened, hardened, improved and refined in the ensuing 32 years.
