This summer two of the world’s greatest rock bands, KISS and Def Leppard, are set to deliver a massive tour dedicated to fans who wanna rock and roll all night!

DEF LEPPARD singer Joe Elliott was interviewed on this morning’s (Tuesday, March 18) edition of “The Heidi & Frank Show” on KLOS 95.5 FM radio station in Los Angeles, California. You can now watch video footage of his appearance below.

As previously reported, DEF LEPPARD and KISS have announced one of the hottest double bills of the summer, with the bands joining forces to hit both arenas and sheds all over North America. The tour kicks off on June 23 in West Valley, Utah at the USANA Amphitheater and winds down on August 31 in Woodlands, Texas at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.

The two bands held a joint press conference on L.A.’s Sunset Strip at the House Of Blues. According to The Pulse Of Radio, Elliott shed light on how the two bands actually came together. “One and one make three in these situations. Two great bands going out together. There will be no dead time — there will be no dead air space. Y’know, it’ll be, hits, hits, hits.

“‘Bout two years ago, myself and Gene [Simmons] did a little tour of South America, under the guise of the ROCK N’ ROLL ALL STARS — a bunch of guys from GUNS N’ ROSES and BILLY IDOL, and what have you. And other than trying to out-do each other with obscure British bands like the IDLE RACE and the PINK FAIRIES — who knew each band better — we discussed doing this as well; that one day DEF LEPPARD and KISS would tread the boards together, as it were, and it’s finally happened, which is fantastic.”

DEF LEPPARD released a Deluxe Edition of its 1996 classic album “Slang” across multiple formats through its own Bludgeon Riffola label on February 10.

As they rock world waits on the probable announcement of a KISS / DEF LEPPARD summer tour, Paul Stanley is already doing press for his eagerly awaited autobiography, “Face The Music: A Life Exposed”. The memoir will be released on April 8 — two days before KISS is inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

Although Stanley has been vocal about his issues with co-founding members Ace Frehley and Peter Criss, he talks in the new book about the problems in keeping a partnership going with Gene Simmons over the decades, telling The Pulse Of Radio that it’s taken a lot of work to keep the pair moving forward and on the same page. “Oh, sure,” he said. “That over the years that’s been an ongoing theme in our relationship. But time is the ultimate judge, and the fact that we’ve been together, at this point for, 40 — my gosh — almost 44 years says volumes. There have been times where I’ve been very angry and resentful — and I’m not saying momentarily — I’m saying for long periods of time. But, in time, everything falls in place and you get a better perspective — hopefully. If you don’t expect from someone what’s not possible, then you won’t be disappointed.”

Stanley spoke frankly of a particularly icy moment in KISS history when, during the 1980s, Simmons seemed far more interested in an acting career than being the type of partner Stanley had come to rely on in KISS throughout the ’70s. “It’s much easier to do that when you know somebody else is gonna run with it. [Laughs] It’s much easier to abandon ship when you know that someone is going to bail water. That was more than annoying and hurtful. It was unjust, because to cap that off — he still wanted to be paid equally. Well, that’s insult to injury. Who gets paid for not doing their job? Doesn’t work like that.”

KISS will play a rare unplugged concert on April 3 at Highland, California’s San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino. The gig is being dubbed “An Acoustic Evening And Stories With Kiss”, which recalls not only the band’s impromptu performances at past KISS conventions, but the original lineup’s legendary 1995 reunion as part of “MTV Unplugged”.

The acoustic show will be filmed by AMC as part of the upcoming reality show based around the AFL football team the L.A. Kiss, which is part owned by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley.

On Wednesday, September 25, San Antonio, Texas’ Kens5.com conducted an interview with DEF LEPPARD members Rick Savage (bass) and Joe Elliott (vocals). You can now watch the segment below.

DEF LEPPARD‘s recent Las Vegas extravaganza will hit the silver screen for two nights in October. NCM Fathom Events together with AEG Live and Network Live are bringing DEF LEPPARD “Viva! Hysteria” concert to over 250 theaters across the country with a full front-to-back performance of 1987′s multi-platinum “Hysteria” album — along with a healthy dose of the band’s greatest hits. Tickets for the screenings are available at participating theater box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, Joe Elliott shed some light DEF LEPPARD‘s recent Vegas residency at the 4,000-capacity Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, explaining, “We’ve been asked for many years if we’d ever play an album in its entirety, and the answer was always no because we’d be out promoting a new album. Then in March and April 2013 when we had no new music to promote, we had a chance to revisit arguably our most important album. It was an easy decision to make.”

He went on to say that the stigma involved in rock musicians playing “Sin City” has long passed: “As for Vegas, it’s no longer perceived as the place crooners go to die! Artists like MÖTLEY CRÜE, ELTON JOHN, GUNS N’ ROSES and CHEAP TRICK have recently done residencies and rock n’ roll has definitely moved in! So, there was no better place for us to take the show. It was a fantastic experience for us and for our fans.”

Joe Elliott told The Pulse Of Radio that the band’s humble beginnings back in England never even hinted at where they’d be today. “35 years after starting out in a little school in Sheffield, and then the next thing we’re doing a residency in Vegas,” he said. “It was never on the agenda back then, y’know? But being in a band more than seven or eight years wasn’t either. So, at this moment in time you’re just kinda making things up as you go along, because, things just keep appearing for us. Like; ‘Hey — you guys fancy doing this?’ ‘Well, that’s something we’ve never done.’ And as soon as we can say that out loud, it’s appealing for us to do it, ”cause it gets you off the treadmill.”

The theatrical showings will be followed by a companion DVD, Blu-ray and live album that Elliott tells Billboard.com will chronicle “the whole shebang” — not only the “Hysteria” set but all of the other songs DEF LEPPARD played over the two nights the show was filmed.

“VIVA! Hysteria – Live at the Joint, Las Vegas” will be made available on CD, Blu-ray disc, DVD Video, and digital download in October at your favorite music retailer.

As drummer for the English hard rock band DEF LEPPARD, Rick Allen knows what it’s like to be on top of the musical world. After a near-fatal auto accident in 1984, he also knows what it’s like to completely lose his left arm to amputation — and the post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) that almost destroyed his will to live. “I didn’t know what my life would be like after that terrible day,” says Rick. “It was the darkest time in my life. And, even today, I still consider myself a work in progress.”

Rick began perfecting his use of a specially designed electronic drum kit so he could play with one arm. And perfect he did indeed; the resulting DEF LEPPARD album — “Hysteria” — sold more than 20 million copies worldwide.

Rick founded the Raven Drum Foundation, which provides drum circles to Wounded Warrior to help encourage healing from PTSD. Other efforts of Rick‘s foundation include Resiliency Radio, where he broadcasts programs geared toward rebuilding a healthy life. This includes interviews with WWP teammates and other warriors.
