In a miracle of science, Metal Injection cloned Devin Townsend for the sole purpose of interviewing himself. Who better than Devy to interview Devy? And so, Devin did just that, doing a fine job asking about Devin’s new album, “Epicloud,” and why he’s not into reforming Strapping Young Lad.

After completing his quadrology last year with the simultaneous release of “Deconstruction” and
“Ghost,” renowned multi-instrumentalist and producer Devin Townsend is ready to start the next chapter in the Devin Townsend Project’s career with “Epicloud.” Due out September 18th in North America and September 24th in Europe, “Epicloud” boasts 13 light-hearted, hook laden tracks featuring once again, guest vocal appearances by Anneke van Giersbergen.

The next chapter of the Devin Townsend Project will be “Epicloud,” which is due out September 18th, 2012 in North America and September 24th in Europe. “Epicloud” will be available in the following formats: standard CD jewel case, limited edition digipack with bonus CD, double vinyl gatefold with the exclusive bonus track, and digital download on iTunes with two exclusive bonus tracks, “Cry Forever” (demo) and “Take My Ego” (demo).

In addition, fans can now pre-order the album on CM Distro and receive an exclusive bundle that includes a DTP teddy bear (limited to 500) and immediate download of the single “Lucky Animals.” The track-listings for the standard and digipack versions of Epicloud are below.

Russian act Blackthorn has posted the new single “Era Obscura” online, which can be heard in the player below. The band also commented:

“An unexpected pleasure! We’re pleased to announce the first single of the band, entitled ERA OBSCURA. The single contains two versions of the track; one in English and the other in Russian.
