On July 7, Access Unlimited TV‘s Lori Trejo conducted an interview with BUTCHER BABIES at the Englewood, Colorado stop of this summer’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. You can now watch the chat below.

BUTCHER BABIES‘ debut album, “Goliath”, sold around 3,300 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 107 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD came out on July 9 via Century Media Records.

The Los Angeles-based band — frontwomen Carla Harvey and Heidi Shepherd, guitarist Henry Flury, bassist Jason Klein and drummer Chris Warner — wrapped its tour with MARILYN MANSON in late February and went straight into the studio with producer Josh Wilbur (GOJIRA, LAMB OF GOD, HATEBREED).

In a recent interview with CrypticRock.com, Shepherd stated about “Goliath”: “The album, as a whole, is very diverse. There is basically something for everybody. We all have different influences and everything is portrayed on this album. Jason [Klein, bass] loves death metal; Henry [Flury, guitar], in general, metal; I love nu-metal; and Carla loves classic metal. We all love every [kind of] metal but those are our favorite and those are where we came from. All our influences shine bright on this album. It’s definitely a coloration of everybody’s influences and everybody’s love. We’re all very proud of it in one way or another. There is something for everybody in it.”

Denver’s 106.7 KBPI radio station conducted an interview with AVENGED SEVENFOLD guitarist Zacky Vengeance on September 2 at the Locura Festival at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre in Englewood, Colorado. You can now watch the chat below.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD has scored its first-ever No. 1 U.K. album with its sixth full-length CD, “Hail To The King”.

The band’s previous effort, “Nightmare”, peaked at No. 5 in 2010.

“Hail To The King” is likely to sell between 170,000 and 180,000 copies in the U.S. in its first week of release, according to industry web site Hits Daily Double. The estimate was based on one-day sales reports compiled after the record arrived in stores on Tuesday (August 27). That figure should be good enough to land the group its second straight No. 1 debut. AVENGED SEVENFOLD‘s fifth album, “Nightmare”, opened with 162,500 copies back in August 2010 to land at the top of The Billboard 200 chart.

Denver’s 106.7 KBPI radio station conducted an interview with Danish/American metal rock ‘n’ rollers VOLBEAT on September 2 at the Locura Festival at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre in Englewood, Colorado. You can now watch the chat below.

VOLBEAT‘s fifth studio album, “Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies”, was released in North America on April 9 via Vertigo/Republic Records/Universal Music.

Seamlessly bringing together all of the band’s influences and reshaping them into something gleaming and new, “Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies” is a record that’s rich with stories and characters woven throughout its lyrics. Some are real — like the noble lady outlaw Pearl Hart, who held up a stagecoach to buy medicine for her dying mother, or Lola Montez, the erotic dancer with her infamous “Spider Dance,” or “Black Bart,” the gentleman highwayman who wrote poems for the people he robbed. Others are entirely fictional. “The Nameless One” is a cautionary tale of dabbling in the dark arts, featuring the mysterious and sinister character of the title. Elsewhere, “Room 24”, featuring King Diamond, was inspired by a terrifying experience in a hotel room somewhere in the heart of America.

“Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies” finds the core trio of Michael Poulsen (vocals/guitar), Anders Kjølholm (bass) and Jon Larsen (drums) joined by former ANTHRAX/THE DAMNED THINGS guitarist Rob Caggiano, who produced the album with longtime VOLBEAT co-producer Jacob Hansen.

“It’s a new vibe for VOLBEAT,” said Poulsen. “You’ve got everything — the rockabilly stuff, the melodies, the ultra-heavy stuff, the Western motifs and the big rock songs. It’s everything that VOLBEAT are all about, but taken even further.” The album title is a phrase that evokes another time, an era when elegant lawbreakers were the rock stars of the day. It tips its fedora to everything from the bad men (and women) of the old west to the old-school metal bands who influenced the young Michael Poulsen to form his first band, DOMINUS, back in the early 90s.

Denver’s 106.7 KBPI radio station conducted an interview with Pennsylvanian rockers HALESTORM on September 2 at the Locura Festival at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre in Englewood, Colorado. You can now watch the chat below.

HALESTORM has issued an official music video for the song “Here’s To Us”, the latest single off the band’s 2012 sophomore album, “The Strange Case Of…” Singer Lzzy Hale told Rolling Stone, “We wrote this song literally as our personal anthem. We’ve been through a lot together as a band, and we’ve learned to celebrate the low times as well as the highs. It’s about toughin’ out and respecting the journey for us, and that’s how we have kept it together as a foursome for 10 years! Here’s to us!”

The band recently recorded an alternate version of the track featuring guest appearances from Slash, SHINEDOWN‘s Brent Smith, ALTER BRIDGE‘s Myles Kennedy, DEVICE‘s David Draiman and others. Hale told The Pulse Of Radio that that version of the song was all about unity in the rock scene. “Everyone always thinks everybody’s in competition,” she said. “‘Oh, you know, we’re in competition for the charts!’ We’re in competition like, ‘Did you have a better set than me? Are you a better player?’ And it was important for all of us to show that none of that matters. We’re all in this together.”

“Here’s To Us” was previously covered on a February 2012 episode of the hit television show “Glee”.

The song is the fourth single from “The Strange Case Of…” , following “Love Bites (So Do I)” , “I Miss The Misery” and “Freak Like Me”. HALESTORM won the Grammy for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance in February for the chart-topping “Love Bites (So Do I)” .
