To succeed in the music industry you of course have to have quality material. In addition to that, a band has to be willing to put the work into building an audience. Halestorm has been relentlessly touring for the past few years, winning over festival crowds and any other audience they play in front of with their potent live show. That hard work is paying off, with their single “Love Bites (So Do I)” becoming the first song by a female-fronted band to top the active rock chart. With several other possible singles on their latest CD The Strange Case Of…, the band is poised to ascend even higher. After their set at the recent Carolina Rebellion festival, I spoke with vocalist/guitarist Lzzy Hale and drummer Arejay Hale about the new album, Lzzy’s recent black carpet duties at the Golden Gods awards and other topics.
