His Masters Noise and Century Media are proud to announce the beginning of a new chapter for Watain. The band comments: “Since the harvest, Watain has been occupied with preparations for a long and hard journey. Seeds have been sown, blades have been sharpened and new fires have been lit to illuminate the untrodden tunnels that lay before us as we descend further down the maze…” And so it was that on the 3rd of January, three years on the day since the recording of “Lawless Darkness” did commence, Watain returned to Necromorbus Studio and began working on what is to become the group’s 5th full-length album.

Brazilian speed metal act Axecuter is streaming the title track from the debut full length release “Metal Is Invincible.” The album is set to drop on March 1, 2013 through France’s Inferno Records. The album is the full length follow up to the debut EP “Innocence Is Our Excuse” issued in 2012.

Deathbound Records has issued the following announcement about inking a deal with U.S. act Woccon:

“After months of hard work we are extremely proud to welcome Woccon to our roster. Founded in Athens, Georgia by multi-instrumentalist, Tim Rowland (Sholfrost, ex-Peregrine), Woccon released an EP in the summer of 2011 titles, Through Ancestral Fires, which featured guest vocals by Ryan Morgan of Misery Signals.

“After self-releasing the EP Tim was joined by guitarist Tiler Kuykendall and drummer Wade Jones, to embark on a new musical direction in which they all shared influences and visions.

“From blackened death metal to melodic doom, The Wither Fields will be available as a limited physical release through Deathbound Records. Copies will be numbered and include two bonus tracks. The album will also be available digitally through all digital outlets.”

Divinefire vocalist Germán Pascual (Ex-Narnia/Ex-Mind’s Eye) is streaming the new LP “A New Beginning” in full at his official website over at this location. The debut solo release was issued on October 7, 2012 through Nightmare Records/Sony/Red in North America.

Special guest musicians on the album include Carl-Johan “CJ” Grimmark (Narnia/Fires Of Babylon/Rob Rock) and bassists Per Schelander (Pain of Salvation/Royal Hunt) and Raphael Dafras (Almah/Seven Horizons).
