DEF LEPPARD singer Joe Elliott was interviewed on this morning’s (Tuesday, March 18) edition of “The Heidi & Frank Show” on KLOS 95.5 FM radio station in Los Angeles, California. You can now watch video footage of his appearance below.

As previously reported, DEF LEPPARD and KISS have announced one of the hottest double bills of the summer, with the bands joining forces to hit both arenas and sheds all over North America. The tour kicks off on June 23 in West Valley, Utah at the USANA Amphitheater and winds down on August 31 in Woodlands, Texas at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.

The two bands held a joint press conference on L.A.’s Sunset Strip at the House Of Blues. According to The Pulse Of Radio, Elliott shed light on how the two bands actually came together. “One and one make three in these situations. Two great bands going out together. There will be no dead time — there will be no dead air space. Y’know, it’ll be, hits, hits, hits.

“‘Bout two years ago, myself and Gene [Simmons] did a little tour of South America, under the guise of the ROCK N’ ROLL ALL STARS — a bunch of guys from GUNS N’ ROSES and BILLY IDOL, and what have you. And other than trying to out-do each other with obscure British bands like the IDLE RACE and the PINK FAIRIES — who knew each band better — we discussed doing this as well; that one day DEF LEPPARD and KISS would tread the boards together, as it were, and it’s finally happened, which is fantastic.”

DEF LEPPARD released a Deluxe Edition of its 1996 classic album “Slang” across multiple formats through its own Bludgeon Riffola label on February 10.

Members of DEF LEPPARD took part in an interview this morning (Wednesday, September 25) on “The Heidi Frank Show” on KLOS 95.5 FM radio station in Los Angeles, California. You can now watch video footage of their appearance below.

DEF LEPPARD‘s recent Las Vegas extravaganza will hit the silver screen for two nights in October. NCM Fathom Events together with AEG Live and Network Live are bringing DEF LEPPARD “Viva! Hysteria” concert to over 250 theaters across the country with a full front-to-back performance of 1987’s multi-platinum “Hysteria” album — along with a healthy dose of the band’s greatest hits. Tickets for the screenings are available at participating theater box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, Joe Elliott shed some light DEF LEPPARD‘s recent Vegas residency at the 4,000-capacity Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, explaining, “We’ve been asked for many years if we’d ever play an album in its entirety, and the answer was always no because we’d be out promoting a new album. Then in March and April 2013 when we had no new music to promote, we had a chance to revisit arguably our most important album. It was an easy decision to make.”

He went on to say that the stigma involved in rock musicians playing “Sin City” has long passed: “As for Vegas, it’s no longer perceived as the place crooners go to die! Artists like MÖTLEY CRÜE, ELTON JOHN, GUNS N’ ROSES and CHEAP TRICK have recently done residencies and rock n’ roll has definitely moved in! So, there was no better place for us to take the show. It was a fantastic experience for us and for our fans.”

Joe Elliott told The Pulse Of Radio that the band’s humble beginnings back in England never even hinted at where they’d be today. “35 years after starting out in a little school in Sheffield, and then the next thing we’re doing a residency in Vegas,” he said. “It was never on the agenda back then, y’know? But being in a band more than seven or eight years wasn’t either. So, at this moment in time you’re just kinda making things up as you go along, because, things just keep appearing for us. Like; ‘Hey — you guys fancy doing this?’ ‘Well, that’s something we’ve never done.’ And as soon as we can say that out loud, it’s appealing for us to do it, ”cause it gets you off the treadmill.”

The theatrical showings will be followed by a companion DVD, Blu-ray and live album that Elliott tells Billboard.com will chronicle “the whole shebang” — not only the “Hysteria” set but all of the other songs DEF LEPPARD played over the two nights the show was filmed.

“VIVA! Hysteria – Live at the Joint, Las Vegas” will be made available on CD, Blu-ray disc, DVD Video, and digital download in October at your favorite music retailer.

Drummer Matt Sorum (GUNS N’ ROSES, VELVET REVOLVER, THE CULT) took part in an interview this morning (Friday, September 13) on “The Heidi Frank Show” on KLOS 95.5 FM radio station in Los Angeles, California. You can now watch video footage of his appearance below.

Sorum told RollingStone.com earlier this week that his new solo album will be released in January. “It’s much more introspective than my usual heavy rock stuff,” he said. It’s more of a singer-songwriter thing. I play acoustic guitar, and it’s a little mellower kind of album.”

According to The Ada News, Sorum will marry his longtime girlfriend Adriane “Ace” Harper on October 12 in Palm Springs, California.

Sorum was born Matthew William Sorum (Norwegian spelling Srum), on November 19, 1960, in the present-day city of Mission Viejo, California. His parents were of English and Norwegian descent.

Sorum achieved fame with GUNS N’ ROSES, where he replaced Steven Adler in the band, who was fired because of drug addiction. While with the Los Angeles-based hard rock group (1990-1997), Sorum recorded the highly successful albums “Use Your Illusion I” and “Use Your Illusion II” (both 1991) and “The Spaghetti Incident” (1994). He also supported the group on the “Use Your Illusion” tour and can be heard on GUNS N’ ROSES“Live Era: ’87-’93” (1999) and “Greatest Hits” (2004). Starting out as a season musician in Los Angeles in the 1980s, Sorum had his first taste with success as part of THE CULT in 1989. A decade later, after being fired from GUNS N’ ROSES, he was reunited with the group and played the drums for their 2001 album “Beyond Good And Evil”. Currently, Sorum is the drummer of VELVET REVOLVER, a group he founded in 2002 with former GUNS N’ ROSES band members Slash and Duff McKagan. The band has released two albums, “Contraband” (2004) and “Libertad” (2007). On his own, Sorum released a solo debut in 2003 called “Hollywood Zen”.

Matt and Ace collaborated on DIAMOND BABY, an electro-rock group whose debut single, “The Last Rockstar”, arrived in August 2011. The accompanying music video featured guest appearances by “Glee” star Jane Lynch, iconic actress Juliette Lewis, Verne Troyer, and MOTÖRHEAD‘s Lemmy Kilmister.

Ned of the WGRD 97.9 FM radio station in Grand Rapids, Michigan recently conducted an interview with the Los Angeles-based, occult-themed traditional heavy metal band HUNTRESS. You can now watch the chat below.

HUNTRESS‘ sophomore album, “Starbound Beast”, was released on June 28 in Europe and on July 2 in North America via Napalm Records. The CD was recorded at Hobby Shop Studios in Los Angeles with producer Chris “Zeuss” Harris (SHADOWS FALL, HATEBREED, MUNICIPAL WASTE). The cover artwork for the effort was once again created by Vance Kelly (THE SWORD, GRAVEYARD, HIGH ON FIRE, PENTAGRAM, ALICE IN CHAINS, AVENGED SEVENFOLD, DEATH ANGEL), who previously worked on the group’s debut album, last year’s “Spell Eater”.

Director Phil Mucci, who helmed the “Zenith” clip, spoke about working with HUNTRESS singer Jill Janus: “Jill doesn’t compromise; she wanted something her fans would cherish for years to come. In a disposable world, she’s very conscious of her legacy, as am I. It’s more than a music video to us. It’s a gateway drug.”

Jill cannot wait for the fans to see “Zenith”. “You better pack your bongs now, ‘cuz this is going to trip you the fuck out!” she says.

HUNTRESS is ecstatic about our new music video for ‘Zenith’.

“Director Phil Mucci is a visionary who brought our galactic hallucinations to life.

HUNTRESS dedicates ‘Zenith’ to our fans who’ve inspired us on this path, and who continue to travel with us on our cosmic musical journey. Together we will smoke the galaxies and blaze a new future for true heavy metal!”

“Starbound Beast” includes the track “I Want to Fuck You to Death”, which was co-written for Jill Janus by legendary MOTÖRHEAD frontman Lemmy Kilmister.

In a recent interview with Examiner.com, Janus stated about HUNTRESS‘ musical evolution from “Spell Eater” to “Starbound Beast”: “When we recorded ‘Spell Eater’ in 2012, we were still such a new band, we were still developing our sound and we were still trying things out. And we put it out with a fury and we love that record. This time around with ‘Starbound Beast’, we were a little more thoughtful with it, my lyrical content is a little bit more advanced, as well as an overall new confidence in the band. The musicianship is better, the songwriting is better, and it’s the evolution of HUNTRESS. That’s what’s going on here, it’s naturally evolving and that’s really cool to see.”
