On March 10, Polish tech death masters DECAPITATED entered Hertz Studio in Bialystok, Poland to begin recording their sixth album. The as-yet-untitled CD is set for a release in September via Nuclear Blast.

DECAPITATED‘s forthcoming effort will mark the recording debut of the band’s new drummer, Michal Lysejko, who joined the group in time for their tour with LAMB OF GOD in January.

Commented DECAPITATED guitarist Waclaw “Vogg” Kieltyka: “We would like to share few news with you.

“All you know that we’ve been quite busy lately. We had some personal changes in the band and also we did I guess the best tours we had; with MESHUGGAH, LAMB OF GOD and CHILDREN OF BODOM.

“First of all, we want to introduce you DECAPITATED new drummer Michal Lysejko. Some of you had a chance to meet him already during tour with LAMB OF GOD this January.

“Also I want to say THANK YOU to the rest of the people who took a challenge and sent their video for an audition.

“Also, since January this year, we signed worldwide management contract with Continental Concerts & Management. That’s for sure big step and opportunity for us and big challenge.

“But I guess the most important news for most of you is that after almost nine years we back to Hertz Studio (albums: ‘Nihility’, ‘The Negation’, ‘Organic Hallucinosis’) to record new album which will be released autumn this year. We will inform you about details soon.”

DECAPITATED‘s last album, “Carnival Is Forever”, sold around 2,100 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 11 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

“Carnival Is Forever” was released in North America on July 12, 2011 via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD’s cover art was created by Lukasz Jaszak. The follow-up to 2006’s “Organic Hallucinosis” was recorded at Radio Gdansk Studio in Poland with producer Wacek Kieltyka and engineer Arkadiusz “Malta” Malczewski. Drums were tracked with Daniel Bergstrand (BEHEMOTH, MESHUGGAH, DIMMU BORGIR, KEEP OF KALESSIN, DEFLESHED), who also handled mixing duties.

God Forbid is preparing to release a sixth full-length album and Victory debut, “Equilibrium,” on March 26th. The forthcoming effort was produced by Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel), Jason Suecof (Bury Your Dead, Chimaira) and mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Amon Amarth).

“With the new album, we focused on writing tight, hook-y metal songs,” commented guitarist/vocalist Doc Coyle on the creative process for Equilibrium, “There are some really fast, super heavy, groovy songs – some of the catchiest, most melodic songs we’ve ever written. We wanted a modern, but organic-sounding album that was tight but still captured the intensity of the band. The album sounds huge!”

Coyle went on to speak about the overall theme of the album, “The title of the album says it all – it’s about finding your way when you’re lost. The lyrics come from a very personal, very real place. The recurring lyrical theme is about the everyday struggles of life and what it takes to persevere and follow your dreams.”

God Forbid’s solidified line-up, newly managed under World Entertainment’s Alexander Ford and Gunter Ford, includes lead vocalist Byron Davis, guitarist/vocalist Doc Coyle, bassist John “Beeker” Outcalt, Corey Pierce on drums and newest member Matt Wicklund on guitar. The band will support “Equilibrium” with heavy touring. Pre-orders and package deals for “Equilibrium,” featuring brand new merch, are now available here.

God Forbid will debut brand new material at the following upcoming headlining shows in February:

Feb. 18 – Brooklyn, NY – St. Vitus
Feb. 24 – Clifton, NJ – Dingbatz

Wretched has entered the studio to record the band’s third full-length album, “Son of Perdition.” The forthcoming effort is set for a March 27th release and will be produced by Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me, He Is Legend, For Today) at The Basement Studio in Winston Salem, North Carolina.

Last year, Wretched solidified its line-up with the addition of industry-veterans Adam Cody (Glass Casket) and Andrew Grevey (Loculus) taking the positions of vocalist and bassist, respectively. “Son of Perdition” marks the first official appearances by Cody and Grevey since their inception into Wretched.

The band took “a huge step forward, musically,” confirms guitarist and one of the two founding members Steven Funderbunk on the new record. Funderbunk goes on to say, “Lyrically, the fans can expect an apocalyptic-type theme that portrays a very personal experience. This record will include some of our darkest and most mature material written to date.”

“Son of Perdition” also exposes a “more melodic approach to the Wretched sound,” says Funderbunk, “A lot of the drums are harmonically matched with a lot of the guitar riffs. We also used a lot of cool chords we haven’t used in the past. It’s far more rhythmic and grooves more than our previous records.”

Wretched will support “Son of Perdition” on this spring’s Metal Alliance Tour beginning in March, hitting 31 cities across the U.S. and Canada. Dates are as follows:
