Metal Injection recently had the chance to speak with Ben Weinman, guitarist of The Dillinger Escape Plan, at Backroom Studios as part of the newest edition “The FiX.” Metal Injection correspondent Frank Godla asked Ben about all his current projects and got an update on what’s on Ben’s schedule.

On Giraffe Tongue Orchestra, his project with Mastodon guitarist Brent Hinds and Jane’s Addiction bassist Eric Avery:

“We’re pretty much half done. Brent from Mastodon is going on tour in November/December. I’ll be in the studio with Dillinger in November/December. Eric Avery will be finishing up touring with Garbage in December. So I think that probably January/February we’re going to finish up.”

On heading into the studio with The Dillinger Escape Plan:

“We’re looking around April for a new release. I’ve been working on pre-production and demoing stuff everyday. We’re going in starting November 5th to start the new record. A lot of migraines trying to figure this out.”

Post-hardcore heroes Inhale Exhale are excited to unleash new track “Carpe Diem,” which is premiering exclusively today with Revolver. The track is the second new song the band is previewing for fans in advance of the October 9th release of its fourth album, “Movement,” on Red Cord Records. Stream “Carpe Diem” now at Revolver right here.

“‘Carpe Diem’ is basically about the idea the album is centered on – moving forward and keeping your head up above all the garbage the world throws at you,” says guitarist John LaRussa. “It’s about making the most from any situation. If it’s something positive, rolling with it and remembering the good from it. If it’s negative, take it and use it to make yourself stronger. We get something out of every experience, and it’s up to us what we do with it.”

Following the October 9th release of “Movement,” Inhale Exhale returns to Europe for several weeks of tour stops throughout Germany, Austria, Poland, Netherlands, Czech Republic, and the Ukraine. The following press release was issued about the album:

“Self-produced by LaRussa at his own Revelry Recording, Movement is a study in controlled chaos. The volatile, melody-driven anthems carry the weight of seasoned survivors who persevere come what may. It’s easily Inhale Exhale’s most aggressive work to date – a fact only underscored by ferocity of their previous albums. On Movement, they push the envelope on all fronts while staying true to their hearts, their fans and their roots.

“Following three successful albums with longtime label Solid State Records, Inhale Exhale has become a fixture in the hardcore and metal community – setting a high bar from day one. Now, six years and four albums in, the band has seen and done it all – surviving through gimmicks and fads that have moved in and out of heavy music and learning from them to stay true to themselves. With Movement, Inhale Exhale prove they’ve lost none of their fire and prove that today’s up-and-comers still have a lot of work to do.”

The album’s track listing is:

1. Aesthetics
2. Party Drama
3. A Poise for Poson
4. Mirage In The Middle of Summer
5. The Collectors
6. Low
7. Carpe Diem
8. Ain’t No Trip To Cleveland
