On Wednesday, September 25, San Antonio, Texas’ Kens5.com conducted an interview with DEF LEPPARD members Rick Savage (bass) and Joe Elliott (vocals). You can now watch the segment below.

DEF LEPPARD‘s recent Las Vegas extravaganza will hit the silver screen for two nights in October. NCM Fathom Events together with AEG Live and Network Live are bringing DEF LEPPARD “Viva! Hysteria” concert to over 250 theaters across the country with a full front-to-back performance of 1987’s multi-platinum “Hysteria” album — along with a healthy dose of the band’s greatest hits. Tickets for the screenings are available at participating theater box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, Joe Elliott shed some light DEF LEPPARD‘s recent Vegas residency at the 4,000-capacity Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, explaining, “We’ve been asked for many years if we’d ever play an album in its entirety, and the answer was always no because we’d be out promoting a new album. Then in March and April 2013 when we had no new music to promote, we had a chance to revisit arguably our most important album. It was an easy decision to make.”

He went on to say that the stigma involved in rock musicians playing “Sin City” has long passed: “As for Vegas, it’s no longer perceived as the place crooners go to die! Artists like MÖTLEY CRÜE, ELTON JOHN, GUNS N’ ROSES and CHEAP TRICK have recently done residencies and rock n’ roll has definitely moved in! So, there was no better place for us to take the show. It was a fantastic experience for us and for our fans.”

Joe Elliott told The Pulse Of Radio that the band’s humble beginnings back in England never even hinted at where they’d be today. “35 years after starting out in a little school in Sheffield, and then the next thing we’re doing a residency in Vegas,” he said. “It was never on the agenda back then, y’know? But being in a band more than seven or eight years wasn’t either. So, at this moment in time you’re just kinda making things up as you go along, because, things just keep appearing for us. Like; ‘Hey — you guys fancy doing this?’ ‘Well, that’s something we’ve never done.’ And as soon as we can say that out loud, it’s appealing for us to do it, ”cause it gets you off the treadmill.”

The theatrical showings will be followed by a companion DVD, Blu-ray and live album that Elliott tells Billboard.com will chronicle “the whole shebang” — not only the “Hysteria” set but all of the other songs DEF LEPPARD played over the two nights the show was filmed.

“VIVA! Hysteria – Live at the Joint, Las Vegas” will be made available on CD, Blu-ray disc, DVD Video, and digital download in October at your favorite music retailer.

A PERFECT CIRCLE, the multi-platinum rock band helmed by Maynard James Keenan (TOOL, PUSCIFER) and Billy Howerdel (ASHES DIVIDE), will release “Three Sixty”, the outfit’s first greatest-hits collection, on November 19 via Universal Music Enterprises (UMe).

The release also includes A PERFECT CIRCLE‘s first new original, studio recording in a decade with the inclusion of “By And Down”, a song written after the band returned from their self-imposed hiatus for a series of live performances throughout 2010 and 2011.

Billy and I created A PERFECT CIRCLE out of a now long-running friendship, and I think the music we have made reflects that personal connection and has given us the ability to further develop and trust our intuition,” explained Keenan. “I feel ‘Three Sixty’ is an accurate representation of that friendship and those instincts.”

In a brand new intervie with RollingStone.com, Keenan stated about “Three Sixty”: “Of course, record companies always have their little clause in their contract, about their right to release a greatest-hits record. I think that can be kind of weird sometimes, when you see ‘the greatest hits,’ no, no — ‘the greatest greatest hits.’ Releases by a record label that the band had nothing to do with, and there’s several versions of the same thing, over and over again. That’s kind of why we did the DVD and the box set. If you’re going to release a greatest hits, we should also offer something that’s not just the old recordings, rearranged. But on that greatest hits, there’s going to be the studio version of ‘By And Down’, which is the new track that we’ve been working on, that we never quite got around to recording.”

A PERFECT CIRCLE formed in the late ’90s with Keenan and Howerdel making up the core of the band with a number of well-known musicians having recorded and/or toured with the outfit, including James Iha (SMASHING PUMPKINS), Troy Van Leeuwen (QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, FAILURE), Paz Lenchantin (ENTRANCE BAND, ZWAN), Jeordie White (MARILYN MANSON), Josh Freese (THE VANDALS, DEVO) and Tim Alexander (PRIMUS).

A PERFECT CIRCLE also recently announced the release of a limited-edition box set titled “A Perfect Circle Live: Featuring Stone And Echo”. The collection, which focuses on the band’s live outings from 2010-2011 includes a full-length DVD of the outfit’s August 2011 Red Rocks concert (with accompanying audio) as well as a 3-CD collection of live releases, one dedicated to each of the three studio albums from the band’s discography. The collection is available on November 26.

At first glance the name Monsterworks seems like it would be the title for Rob Zombie's greatest hits album or something along those lines. Couple that with the album cover that just screams early-90's computer game and you get an album I would normally pass on. I don't remember when or how I wound up hearing this …

TeamRock Radio recently conducted an interview with DEF LEPPARD and LAST IN LINE guitarist Vivian Campbell. The chat can be heard using the SoundCloud widget below.

Campbell, who is currently being treated for Hodgkin’s lymphoma, has just completed a short tour with LAST IN LINE, the band featuring Vivian alongside fellow founding DIO members Vinny Appice, Jimmy Bain and Claude Schnell, plus singer Andrew Freeman. The guitarist has been receiving chemotherapy for four months, with two months of treatment remaining.

“I feel fortunate that my cancer sent me an alarm call in the form of ‘the cough that wouldn’t quit,'” Campbell said in a statement this past June.

DEF LEPPARD last month completed a short tour that started June 21 at the Hellfest festival in France and ended July 17 in Canandaigua, New York.
