Former GUNS N’ ROSES guitarist Slash talked to Artisan News at the premiere of the first-ever motion picture he has co-produced, “Nothing Left To Fear”. Check out the report below.

On October 4, Slash will release the soundtrack album for the first-ever motion picture he has co-produced, “Nothing Left To Fear”, via his company Slasher Films. “Nothing Left To Fear The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack” will be released on October 4, exclusively at PledgeMusic.com, the same day the film opens in select theaters.

Written and produced by Slash and Nick O’Toole, the “Nothing Left To Fear” soundtrack includes the film score plus two original songs: “Nothing Left To Fear”, which features vocalist Myles Kennedy, and the instrumental “Welcome To Stull”.

Available on Blu-ray Combo-pack, DVD and On Demand starting Tuesday, October 8, “Nothing Left To Fear” is a harrowing tale in the spirit of the terrifying horror films of the 1970s. The movie is inspired by the legend of Stull, Kansas, which is surrounded by Internet folklore proclaiming the town to be one of the Seven Gateways to Hell. Wendy (Anne Heche), her husband Dan (James Tupper of “Revenge”) and their kids have just moved to the small town of Stull, Kansas, where Dan is the new pastor. But in this sleepy community of friendly neighbors, a horrific series of occurrences awaits them: Their teenage daughter (Rebekah Brandes of “Bellflower”) is being tormented by grisly visions. Her younger sister (Jennifer Stone of “Wizards Of Waverly Place”) has been marked for a depraved ritual. And deep within the heartland darkness, one of The Seven Gates Of Hell demands the blood of the innocent to unleash the creatures of the damned. Ethan Peck (“10 Things I Hate About You”) and Clancy Brown (“The Shawshank Redemption”) co-star in this demonic shocker featuring original music by producer Slash and inspired by the real-life paranormal legacy of Stull.

“Nothing Left To Fear” is the first film from Rock And Roll Hall Of Famer Slash‘s production company Slasher Films, and was written by Jonathon W.C. Mills and directed by Anthony Leonardi III.

ADLER, the band led by original GUNS N’ ROSES drummer Steven Adler, will have its music featured in the pilot and future episodes of “Sex And The Single Vegan”, a half-hour, single-camera comedy created by Los Angeles-based writer, actor and producer Joanne Rose.

“The sitcom is about finding your identity,” says Rose.

Lead character Jennifer Richards (played by Joanne Rose) loves sex, is a vegan and loves blogging about it all. She’s in her 30s and sees her friends getting married and choosing a clear course in life and here she is blogging about her terrible dates. “She is actually driven by a deep fear of life passing her by and the one thing she won’t compromise, however, is her independence and ideals,” continues Rose.

When a top-notch pastry chef named Michael Pierce comes crashing into her life, he is everything she dislikes. “He’s arrogant, yet annoyingly sexy but not a vegan,” Rose says. “This is a huge driver for Jennifer and each week we’ll get to see that tension play out as she dives in head first with her career, her dating blog, her anti-Michael rants, when all her body is telling her is to screw his brains out and be the mother to his kids.”

Vegan Vision Productions has teamed up with Rawkn Music, a music placement division of Rawkn Management, with top-tier talent, owned and operated by Rob Adams and Walter Tabayoyong.

“It’s our sincere privilege to have the opportunity to collaborate musically along with our client Steven Adler for the ‘Sex And The Single Vegan’ project,” says Rob. “We, along with Steven, are animal advocates and look forward to a continued relationship in the pursuit and awareness of animal causes. We look forward to working on future endeavors with Joanne, to bring great talent and music to great shows.”

Joanne Rose, who originates from Melbourne, Australia and is now a permanent U.S. resident, formed her own production company, Vegan Vision Productions, five years ago.

Rose launched her career online with her U.S. comedy web series “Vegan 101”, which ran for three seasons. The series featured Rose in highly exaggerated stories about vegans from all walks of life through comedy sketches.

Members of DEF LEPPARD took part in an interview this morning (Wednesday, September 25) on “The Heidi Frank Show” on KLOS 95.5 FM radio station in Los Angeles, California. You can now watch video footage of their appearance below.

DEF LEPPARD‘s recent Las Vegas extravaganza will hit the silver screen for two nights in October. NCM Fathom Events together with AEG Live and Network Live are bringing DEF LEPPARD “Viva! Hysteria” concert to over 250 theaters across the country with a full front-to-back performance of 1987’s multi-platinum “Hysteria” album — along with a healthy dose of the band’s greatest hits. Tickets for the screenings are available at participating theater box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, Joe Elliott shed some light DEF LEPPARD‘s recent Vegas residency at the 4,000-capacity Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, explaining, “We’ve been asked for many years if we’d ever play an album in its entirety, and the answer was always no because we’d be out promoting a new album. Then in March and April 2013 when we had no new music to promote, we had a chance to revisit arguably our most important album. It was an easy decision to make.”

He went on to say that the stigma involved in rock musicians playing “Sin City” has long passed: “As for Vegas, it’s no longer perceived as the place crooners go to die! Artists like MÖTLEY CRÜE, ELTON JOHN, GUNS N’ ROSES and CHEAP TRICK have recently done residencies and rock n’ roll has definitely moved in! So, there was no better place for us to take the show. It was a fantastic experience for us and for our fans.”

Joe Elliott told The Pulse Of Radio that the band’s humble beginnings back in England never even hinted at where they’d be today. “35 years after starting out in a little school in Sheffield, and then the next thing we’re doing a residency in Vegas,” he said. “It was never on the agenda back then, y’know? But being in a band more than seven or eight years wasn’t either. So, at this moment in time you’re just kinda making things up as you go along, because, things just keep appearing for us. Like; ‘Hey — you guys fancy doing this?’ ‘Well, that’s something we’ve never done.’ And as soon as we can say that out loud, it’s appealing for us to do it, ”cause it gets you off the treadmill.”

The theatrical showings will be followed by a companion DVD, Blu-ray and live album that Elliott tells Billboard.com will chronicle “the whole shebang” — not only the “Hysteria” set but all of the other songs DEF LEPPARD played over the two nights the show was filmed.

“VIVA! Hysteria – Live at the Joint, Las Vegas” will be made available on CD, Blu-ray disc, DVD Video, and digital download in October at your favorite music retailer.

Vocalist/guitarist Lzzy Hale and guitarist Joe Hottinger of Pennsylvanian rockers HALESTORM were interviewed on the latest episode of the “Talking Metal” podcast. You can now listen to the chat using the audio player below. (Note: The HALESTORM interview begins around the 13-minute mark.)

HALESTORM will release its new EP, “ReAniMate 2.0: The CoVeRs eP”, on October 15 via Atlantic.

The EP marks the acclaimed hard rock band’s first new release since their stunning Grammy Awards triumph earlier this year, as well as the follow-up to 2011’s “ReAniMate: The CoVeRs eP”. As with its predecessor, “ReAniMate 2.0: The CoVeRs eP” sees HALESTORM putting their distinctive brand on a strikingly eclectic collection of classic songs, including legendary tracks by JUDAS PRIEST, AC/DC, PAT BENATAR, FLEETWOOD MAC, MARILYN MANSON, and DAFT PUNK.

“Like our first ‘ReAniMate’ EP, the songs included here are a collection of both our favorite songs and songs to challenge ourselves,” said Lzzy Hale. We decided to go more ‘bare bones’ with this EP, meaning minimal production with live, gritty performances. We recorded this EP the week of the Grammys, so the excitement and debauchery you hear through your speakers is very real. We hope all our fans have as much fun with ‘ReAniMate: 2.0’ as we did!”

“ReAniMate 2.0: The CoVeRs eP” track listing:

01. Dissident Aggressor (originally performed by JUDAS PRIEST)
02. Get Lucky (originally performed by DAFT PUNK)
03. Shoot To Thrill (originally performed by AC/DC)
04. Hell Is For Children (originally performed by PAT BENATAR)
05. Gold Dust Woman (originally performed by FLEETWOOD MAC)
06. 1996 (originally performed by MARILYN MANSON)

2011’s “ReAniMate: The CoVeRs eP” contained covers of tracks from SKID ROW, LADY GAGA and GUNS N’ ROSES. Singer Lzzy Hale told The Pulse Of Radio that recording other artists’ songs helps her own writing. “There’s just nothing like singing and playing and picking apart an already proven amazing song,” she said. “I think it helps you as a songwriter. I’ll write a song and be like, ‘Well, is that as good as HEART‘s ‘All I Wanna Do Is Make Love To You’, and I’ll have to be like, ‘No, back to the drawing board.'”

On October 17, Rock Against MS returns to the Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, California with yet another amazing all-star lineup. On the heels of a spectacular sold-out show last March 27, the rock stars return in support of longtime friend and publicist Nancy B. Sayle. This rock-fueled concert is to help raise awareness and funding for Sayle and her new foundation benefiting those living with MS. This show will also be in loving memory of Penny (Maglieri) Tuttle who passed from complication from MS just days prior to the first Rock Against MS concert. Penny is the daughter of Sunset Strip’s legendary rock and roll giant Mario Maglieri, owner of the Whisky A Go Go and the Rainbow Bar & Grill.

Penny‘s passing affected Sayle profoundly, as she herself is challenged with primary progressive MS.

“Being just diagnosed in 2009, I first ignored the disease and now with it progressing, I move forward doing all I can to cheat it and be positive,” explains Sayle.

Penny‘s death, just within days of a concert at her family’s venue that they so graciously donated to us really shook me. The Maglieri family are great longtime friends and I want to honor Penny and many others that have lost their lives due to this disease. We also thank the Maglieri family for all they have done for us.

“I really need all to know about MS. It is important that we fight and not lose hope.”

Scheduled performers at Rock Against MS on October 17:

* Steve Lukather (TOTO)
* Gilby Clarke (GUNS N’ ROSES)
* Rob “Blasko” Nicholson (OZZY OSBOURNE)
* Marky Ramone (RAMONES)
* Jorgen Carlsson (GOV’T MULE)
* CJ Vanston (SPINAL TAP)
* Erik Eldenius (BILLY IDOL)
* Brian Tichy (OZZY OSBOURNE, WHITESNAKE)
* Robert Sarzo (QUEENSRŸCHE)
* Jimmy D’Anda (BULLETBOYS)
* Nick Menza (MEGADETH)
* Gretchen Bonaduce
* Chas West (MOBY DICKS, BONHAM)

They are showing support for not only Sayle, but for so many others living with MS in our own community and around the world.

Many more artists will be announced in the coming weeks and a huge surprise guest is in anticipation.

In its finishing stages, the Rock Against MS Foundation will provide services from a three (3) grant resource system, which will provide daily care, quality of life needs and emergency funding, while assisting people with multiple sclerosis to live an independent and full life. There will also be an educational grant for kids with MS as well as kids that have parent with MS that are challenged with funding for college.
