Artisan News recently conducted an interview with former MISFITS guitarist Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein. You can now watch the chat below.

Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein‘s song “Valley Of Shadows” was released as a single on June 25 via iTunes.

Like the other 10 songs on Doyle‘s new album, “Abominator”, “Valley Of Shadows” is rife with horror imagery, while telling the tale of a sick and twisted love story. Doyle‘s nuclear guitar riffs are mixed to melt speakers, while Alex Story‘s screaming vocals add to the sonic attack that is “Abominator”.

“Abominator” was made available worldwide on iTunes and all digital music services on July 30.

The effort, which has been called “perhaps the best MISFITS-related record in over a decade,” also features Alex Story (CANCERSLUG) on vocals, “Left-Hand” Graham on bass and Dr. Chud (MISFITS) on drums.

Showcasing the evolution of sound Doyle has achieved from his already legendary development with the MISFITS, “Valley Of Shadows” rages with the primal fury and carnality found throughout the band’s debut album. This is a call to arms to true fiends everywhere. The trip through the valley is a brutal thrill filled ride to hell that you won’t soon forget. Where hardcore punk meets old school thrash and a new breed of doom metal, “Valley Of Shadows” is just a glimpse into what is to come from “Abominator”.

Doyle recently partnered with Labeled Insane Management and BrainMuscleMedia to create his own label, Monsterman Records.

“Abominator” track listing:

01. Abominator
02. Learn To Bleed
03. Dreamingdeadgirls
04. Headhunter
05. Valley Of Shadows
06. Land Of The Dead
07. Cemeterysexxx
08. Love Like Murder
09. Mark Of The Beast
10. Bloodstains
11. Hope Hell Is Warm

Doyle recently hit the road again with Glenn Danzig to revisit the magic of their legendary early collaborations, this time taking the mayhem with DANZIG‘s 25th-anniversary tour. On each date, Doyle took to the stage with Danzig to run through a set of MISFITS classics, paying homage to their legacy as, arguably, the most influential horror-punk band of all time.

Singer/bassist Mike Dean and singer/drummer Reed Mullin of hardcore punk veterans CORROSION OF CONFORMITY recently joined forces with a number of well-known musicians from the metal and hardcore scenes to create the new project TEENAGE TIME KILLER.

The instrumental parts for the upcoming debut release from TEENAGE TIME KILLER, which is named after a RUDIMENTARY PENI song, were recorded at Dave Grohl‘s (FOO FIGHTERS, NIRVANA) Studio 606 in Northridge, California on the famous Sound City mixing board, which was the central focus of Grohl‘s acclaimed “Sound City: Real To Reel” documentary.

In a brand new interview with Jump Metal (see below), Mullin revealed some of the names that are going to be involved with the project:

* Jello Biafra (DEAD KENNEDYS)
* Tony Foresta (MUNICIPAL WASTE
* Tommy Victor (PRONG, DANZIG)
* Dave Grohl (FOO FIGHTERS, NIRVANA)
* Max Cavalera (SOULFLY, SEPULTURA)
* Phil Rind (SACRED REICH)
* Randy Blythe (LAMB OF GOD)
* Pepper Keenan (CORROSION OF CONFORMITY)
* Karl Agell (CORROSION OF CONFORMITY)
* Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein (MISFITS)
* Keith Morris (BLACK FLAG, CIRCLE JERKS)

Back in May, Blythe posted an Instagram photo of him with Dean and Mullin in the studio and described his contribution to TEENAGE TIME KILLER, a track called “Hung Out To Dry”, as “old-school C.O.C.-style thrash punk.”

Dead In The Dirt

Dead In The Dirt

Once a breeding ground for all things doom-related, Southern Lord Records have been turning their attention to the imminent collapse of society and streets overrun with furious insurgent soldiers, aka crust.

The latest batch of angry orcs to come stampeding out of the stable are Atlanta’s Dead In The Dirt. Their supremely volatile debut album, Blind Hole, manages to compress crust, grind, hardcore punk and approximately 50 trillion gallons of bile into 22 tracks totalling a mere 24 minutes that will still tear down any part of your brain that protects whatever you consider sacrosanct.

Thanks to the band and Southern Lord, we have an exclusive preview of the track, No Chain – 80 seconds of pummelling, implacable fury that should be the national anthem for whatever semblance of life emerges crawling from the ruins.

Check out Dead In The Dirt’s Facebook page here!
