DEFTONES‘ video for their new single, “Romantic Dreams”, off their latest album, “Koi No Yokan”, can be seen below. The clip was directed by skater and filmmaker Brett Novak, and features fellow skater Jason Park.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, DEFTONES frontman Chino Moreno believes that the band should and will release “Eros”, the album it recorded before late bassist Chi Cheng was left in a semi-comatose state by a car accident in November 2008. Although Moreno was not sure if the disc would ever surface, his feelings have changed since Cheng‘s death this past April. Moreno told MTV Hive, “I get asked about that record a lot. For a while, I was giving the same answer, ‘No, no, no, no, no, no, no.’ After Chi‘s passing, I went back and listened to some of the record and it was a pretty intense experience to say the least.”

Moreno added, “I think it should be released, but we don’t have any definite plans. There’s some work to do on it. DEFTONES have been moving forward in a strong, positive motion, so for us to stop and reflect on something five years ago, I don’t know if we’re ready for that.”

But he also said, “It is a special thing for us: it’s the last thing Chi played on. It will see the light of day. I just don’t know when.”

Moreno‘s new side project, PALMS, released its self-titled debut disc on June 25.

Cheng performed on DEFTONES‘ first five albums, with his last released work being on 2006’s “Saturday Night Wrist”.

Bassist Sergio Vega played on “Diamond Eyes” and the most recent DEFTONES disc, “Koi No Yokan”.

HIGH ON FIRE‘s North American tour kicks off November 10 in Atlanta at The Masquerade and runs through mid-December, wrapping up in Los Angeles on December 12. Norwegian rockers KVELERTAK will open all dates. DOOMRIDERS (November 10 to November 23), PACK OF WOLVES (November 27) and WINDHAND (November 29 to December 12) will each be featured as the evening opener on different legs of the tour.

To promote the upcoming trek, HIGH ON FIRE will release a new single, “Slave The Hive”, on October 16, marking the first new music from the California metal champions since the spring 2012 release of “De Vermis Mysteriis”. A limited-edition seven-inch single will be available at all tour dates with a video for the song to be released simultaneously.

“De Vermis Mysteriis” sold around 7,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 63 on The Billboard 200 chart. Released on April 3, 2012 via eOne Music, the CD was recorded in Salem, Massachusetts’ GodCity Studios with producer and CONVERGE guitarist Kurt Ballou. The 10-song effort — touted as “direct, eye-opening and powerfully supernatural” — was the band’s sixth studio recording and the follow-up to 2010’s “Snakes For The Divine” which debuted at No. 62 on The Billboard 200 chart and has been called “wonderful” by The New York Times and “an exhilarating rush” by the Chicago Tribune.

“Crucial Velocity”, the new Aisha Tyler-directed video from Maryland rockers CLUTCH, can be seen below. The song comes off the band’s latest album, “Earth Rocker”, which sold 22,000 copies in its first week of release to debut at position No. 15 on The Billboard 200 chart.

Released via CLUTCH‘s own Weathermaker Music label, “Earth Rocker” entered the German Media Control chart at No. 71. In the U.K., the CD landed at No. 50 on the regular chart, No. 3 on the Rock/Metal Albums chart and No. 11 on the Independent Albums chart.

Produced by Machine (LAMB OF GOD, FOUR YEAR STRONG, FALL OUT BOY) at the Machine Shop studio in Belleville, New Jersey, “Earth Rocker” was described by CLUTCH vocalist Neil Fallon in a recent interview with DCHeavyMetal.com as “probably faster than most of our recent albums. Maybe compared to some other bands, it’s not the fastest thing on planet Earth. For us it was definitely a step up in the tempo. And I think the other thing that kind of stands out about this one is the blues influences that we’ve been flirting with over the past couple records is more or less absent in this record, which didn’t really happen intentionally until we looked back at it. As a whole, it’s just much more of a straight-up rock and roll record.”

The artwork for “Earth Rocker” was created by Nick Lakiotes, longtime CLUTCH art director, who has worked on previous efforts, including “Robot Hive/Exodus” and “Strange Cousins From The West”.
