Reunited grunge legends SOUNDGARDEN played their landmark 1994 “Superunknown” album last night (Thursday, March 13) at the iTunes Festival, which made its U.S. debut as part of the ongoing South By Southwest festivities in Austin, Texas.

The event was streamed live through the iTunes store and was available on all personal computers and mobile devices.

Fan-filmed video footage of SOUNDGARDEN‘s concert can be seen below.

Last month, SOUNDGARDEN announced that it will be releasing two special deluxe editions of “Superunknown”.

“Superunknown – Deluxe Edition”, which will feature the remastered album as well as b-sides, demos and rehearsals, will hit stores on June 3.

“Superunknown – Super Deluxe Edition” will also hit stores on June 3 but will be a full five CD set with a hardcover book and photos.

SOUNDGARDEN forntman Chris Cornell told Billboard.com that the idea for a “Superunknown” show came about after the group put together the special 20th anniversary deluxe editions. “It’s the idea of the reissue and recognizing it as an anniversary, which I don’t think is our instinct, ever,” Cornell explained. “But it seemed kinda to make sense for this album. If you can single out any of our albums as being, like, the most iconic one, it’s obviously this one. I think it’s an accomplishment, and I’m proud we did it. So it’s kind of a cool thing to do and concentrate on.”

As for the performance, Cornell opened by explaining to the audience: “I want to apologize ahead of time because there are so many different tunings on this album and when we sequenced it, we didn’t really care about that… so we’re going to switch guitars a lot on pretty much every single song.”

The singer told Billboard.com: “When you start with the tunings, it seems like a more disjoined album than it really is when you play it in order, because each tuning has its own personality. But the whole album seems to flow naturally, but when you look at it closer it seems less fluid in a way.”

“Dreamscape”, the new Tage Rönnqvist-directed video from Finnish melodic death metallers MYGRAIN, can be seen below. The song comes off the band’s fourth album, “Planetary Breathing”, which will be released on September 27 via Spinefarm Records. The CD was recorded during August and September 2012 at Sound Supreme studio with Janne Saksa, who previously worked with the band on their first two albums. The mixing and mastering was again handled by Dan Swanö (EDGE OF SANITY, BLOODBATH, NIGHTINGALE) at Unisound studios in Örebro, Sweden.

Commented MYGRAIN: “The debut album, ‘Orbit Dance’, was released in 2006. The second album, ‘Signs Of Existence’, came out two years later and the third one, ‘MyGrain’, in 2011. The last-mentioned felt like a launch to something new and it was like a new beginning for the band.

‘Planetary Breathing’ can be characterized through familiar MYGRAIN elements: the catchy choruses, melodies and keyboard lines are still there, whereas the winding and striking guitar riffs being a solid base of the MYGRAIN sound.

“We are so excited of the result we achieved with this album! Together with Janne and Dan, we managed to capture the most rich and balanced MYGRAIN sound so far.”

“Planetary Breathing” track listing:

01. Incantation
02. Waking Up The Damned
03. Ambivalentine
04. Black Light Supernova
05. Dreamscape
06. Rats in The Cradle
07. The Ghost in Me
08. Mechanimal Instinct
09. The Final Skyline
10. Planetary Breathing

MYGRAIN‘s third, self-titled album entered the official chart in the group’s home country at position No. 23.

The band’s second CD, “Signs of Existence”, landed at No. 32.

Firetruck Rally has posted two songs online from the band’s upcoming self-titled EP, to be released independently this coming October/November as a 7″. You can check out the songs “Regression” and “We Know Nothing” in the player below. The band also commented on its history:

“Founded in 2011 by Ben, Yoni, Shimmy, and Ben (ex and current members of Israeli hardcore/punk bands Instinct/Uzbeks/Best/Mad Choice/Suckinim Baenaim/more), we’ve been locally active in Israel for the past 2 years, and are about to tour Europe the next summer. It’s corny to say we’re influenced by a wide spectrum of music genres and bands, but we are. Some main impact bands that influenced FTR are Converge, TDEP, Paint It Black, and Quasimoto.”
