iced Earth

US power metal legends Iced Earth will release Plagues Of Babylon later this year via Century Media!

“The new Iced Earth studio album is expected to have a late 2013 release date,” says band mainman Jon Schaffer. “It will be titled Plagues Of Babylon and we are very excited about how killer things are sounding this early in the writing/demo process.

I expect this album will be something very special! Thanks again for your continued support of the band! We love you guys!”

As They Burn: repping for France

Metal Hammer is stoked to be premiering a new track from brutal French deathcore merchants As They Burn!

F.R.E.A.K.S. is taken from the band’s new album Will, Love, Life, out February 19 via Victory, and features a guest appearance from Emmure frontman Frankie Palmeri.

For those fans of The Safety Fire with serious withdrawal symptoms, the band has put together a special film documenting the band’s time away on a European tour. Check out the “Stache Tour Diary 2012″ below.

At the end of January, The Safety Fire will kick-off an 11-date U.K. tour with tech-metal behemoths The Faceless, making sure that 2013 begins with an almighty bang. Guitarist Derya “Dez” Nagle had this to say about the tour and the past year:

“This has been an absolutely amazing year for TSF. Aside from releasing our debut album, touring the States and Europe and playing some amazing festivals, we have had the pleasure of playing with some awesome bands. We are glad to see the trend is continuing on into 2013, with what is set to be an amazing tour with The Faceless. Exciting times ahead. Hype.”

Emmure played Trespass this summer

Connecticut deathcore stompers Emmure – who were a part of the first ever Metal Hammer Trespass America festival earlier this year –  have announced a UK tour mere days after coming off the road with Aussie chums Parkway Drive.

The guys will be returning to our shores in April, joined by Chelsea Grin, Obey The Brave, Attila and Buried In Verona.

British melodic hard rock group Magnum is currently on tour in Europe to promote recent studio album “On The 13th Day.” The band has posted the first in a series of tour video blogs, which can be seen below.

“On The 13th Day,” the eighteenth studio album from Magnum, was released in September through SPV / Steamhammer and entered the charts in Germany, Sweden, England, and Switzerland. Remaining dates for the tour can be found after the jump.
