Metallicaaaaaaaaah

It looks like Metallica might be harbouring plans to bring their full Through The Never movie set production on tour!

“Well, that’s the plan, you know,” bassist Rob Trujillo tells The Pulse Of Radio. “I don’t think you build something that incredible and not, you know, share it with the world. Obviously we’re just trying to get through this phase of the journey and gonna release this beast to the world and present it on the IMAX screens, and then after that, you know, we’ll see where the adventure takes us, you know. We do have this stage, we should put it to use.”

Could we see The Toilet On Tour?

Metallica: Through The Never opens internationally next month. Read more about the film, the band’s immediate plans and that long-awaited new album in our immense new issue, out right now (and also featuring free Metallica posters, stickers and a film guide, just because. ABSOLUTLEEEH!).

When METALLICA‘s new movie, “Metallica Through The Never”, opens in 3D IMAX on September 27, fans will see the band performing on a massive stage, specially constructed for the film, that incorporates elements of METALLICA live shows from the past 30 years. The Pulse Of Radio asked bassist Robert Trujillo if there is any chance of taking that stage show on the road. “Well, that’s the plan, you know,” he said.

The band has released a third chapter in its “Hit The Lights: The Making Of Metallica’s Through The Never” series of videos.

The new segment focuses on the conception and construction of the stage and live production.

The movie will expand to theaters around the country on October 4 after its limited IMAX opening on September 27.

The film, a blend of concert movie and fictional narrative, stars Dane DeHaan as a member of METALLICA‘s road crew who is sent on a mysterious mission while the band performs at a sold-out arena and events outside grow more bizarre.

This Saturday (September 21), METALLICA will play a special show at New York’s famed Apollo Theater as part of the promotion for the film.

Inner Wound Recordings has announced the signing of the Swedish power metal band PERSUADER. The group’s new album, “The Fiction Maze”, will be released late 2013/early 2014.

PERSUADER was formed in Umeå, Sweden 1997, and has thus far released three albums: “The Hunter” (2000), “Evolution Purgatory” (2004) and “When Eden Burns” (2006).

PERSUADER is:

Jens Carlsson – Vocals
Fredrik Hedström – Bass
Emil Norberg – Guitar
Daniel Sundbom – Guitar
Efraim Juntunen – Drums

Says PERSUADER: “So finally, we’re back! A journey that began some five years ago has finally come to the end of the line and we’re extremely proud to uncover the new PERSUADER album entitled ‘The Fiction Maze’.

“A lot of hard work was put into creating the perfect mix of everything we’ve done so far, expanded on the PERSUADER sound while keeping the core that is the band; heavy riffing, strong melodies, pounding rythms and soaring vocals. Combined with a crushing production courtesy of mixer extraordinaire Ronnie Björnström [AEON, APOSTASY, BONE GNAWER] this turned out to be quite a beast of an album, the true pinnacle of our career so far.

“The time has come. Now join us through the fiction maze!”

According to The Pulse Of Radio, Steven Tyler appears today (September 10) on the syndicated “The Dr. Oz Show” and talks frankly about his long battle with addiction. Tyler recalls key moments in his journey, hitting rock bottom, and checking himself into the Betty Ford Center. He credits Dr. Harry Haroutunian — the physician director of the center — with helping him recapture his life. Dr. Haroutunian touches on how the AEROSMITH frontman has written the foreword to his new book “Being Sober”, and explains the message he wants readers to take away.

On the show, Tyler explains how he came to fall off the wagon after years of being straight: “I had a bunch of operations and simply didn’t follow my program and I kept the drugs by the side of my bed so I just did more instead of doing what was prescribed. Remember, I’m a very good drug addict because I’ve done it for so many years.”

On today’s show, Tyler makes a bold claim as to who’s to blame for getting drugs out to the masses these days: “Y’know who the new dealers are? They’re doctors. The dealers aren’t on the street. It’s not a shady guy on the street. Y’know how many doctors I’ve gone to and said, ‘I, I, I’m in a 12-Step program, I’ve been sober for. . .’ He goes, ‘Ah, good for you!’ On the way out he says, ‘You need something to sleep tonight?’ And I’m trying to tell him that I can’t take anything that’s mood altering, ’cause if I do, I like to ride it. We all do, right? You get on a water ski, you wanna go again next week. Kiss her — I wanna do it again [laughs]! It’s ‘euphoric recall,’ it’s not so odd. It’s what humans — y’know, we’re all touchy-feely; even those that say that they’re not and men that don’t cry, they still want to be touched by their mothers. Skin is the biggest organ in the body. So, we like that feeling of, y’know, opiates.”

Steven Tyler admits that he was left ravaged on every level from his years of addiction: “My sobriety cost me nothing less than everything. . . It’s serious when you lose your kids, your children, your wife, your band, your job and you’ll never understand why, because you’re an addict. You can’t figure that out.”
