Polish death metal veterans VADER will release their new album, “Tibi Et Igni” (a Latin phrase which translates to “For You And Fire”), on May 30 via Nuclear Blast. The follow-up to 2011’s “Welcome To The Morbid Reich” was recorded at Hertz Studio in Bialystok, Poland with producers Wojtek and Slawek Wiesawski. The artwork was handled this time by a true legend of visuals, Joe Petagno (MOTÖRHEAD).

Commented VADER mainman Piotr “Peter” Wiwczarek: “Joe is a legend! Not just because he created MOTÖRHEAD logo or breathtaking artworks for many outstanding albums. Joe is over all times and his imagination touches the Hell itself…. And this is enough reason to ask him for painting ‘a Hellfire’ for VADER‘s new music. He accepted it and… made me so proud!”

Joe Petagno added: “They have been on my ‘get in touch’ list for years. Finally we managed it and for a killer album very appropriately titled: ‘Tibi Et Igni’.”

“Tibi Et Igni” track listing:

01. Go To Hell
02. Where Angels Weep
03. Armada On Fire
04. Triumph Of Death
05. Hexenkessel
06. Abandon All Hope
07. Worms Of Eden
08. The Eye Of The Abyss
09. Light Reaper
10. The End

Digipak Bonus:

11. Necropolis
12. Des Satans Neue Kleider

Bonus 7″ Vinyl:

Side A: Necropolis
Side B: Przeklęty Na Wieki (Cursed Eternally)

“Tibi Et Igni” will be made available as a standard jewelcase CD, digipak (with 2 bonus tracks), as colored vinyl with a bonus seven-inch EP (including 2 bonus tracks) and exclusively at Nuclear Blast mailorder as a limited digipak edition with a signed VADER tourbook.

VADER will release a special seven-inch single containing two tracks from “Tibi Et Igni”. The single is titled “Go To Hell” and includes the following songs:

Side A: “Where Angels Weep”
Side B: “Triumph Of Death”

The song “Where Angels Weep” will also be available digitally.

The vinyl and the digitally version will be released on April 18 via Nuclear Blast.

You can pre-order the single (red, white and black vinyl) at this location.

VADER‘s forthcoming effort will mark the recording debut of British drummer James Stewart (DIVINE CHAOS), who replaced Pawel “Paul” Jaroszewicz in 2011.

VADER‘s latest album, “Welcome To The Morbid Reich”, was released in Europe on August 12, 2011 and in North America on September 13, 2011 via Nuclear Blast Records. The effort was recorded at Hertz Studio in Bialystok, Poland and features the cover artwork of Zbigniew Bielak (DESTRÖYER 666, WATAIN). The band laid down a total of 12 songs for the CD, which was mixed and mastered in May 2011.

Hugely influential British melodic hard rockers MAGNUM will release their 19th studio album, “Escape From The Shadow Garden”, in January 2014 via Steamhammer/SPV. A European tour will kick off in March.

Says MAGNUM bassist Al Barrow: “The recording has been done! Moving on to mixing next week.

“It’s a killer album; you’re gonna love it. Very up-tempo, balls-to-the-wall guitars, lots of keyboards and Bob‘s [Catley] done some fantastic vocals. Tony [Clarkin, guitar] has surpassed himself once again with the songwriting. Harry [James, drums]… well, that goes without saying, he’s got us rocking our socks off.

“I will be working on new artwork as soon as I’m back from Sweden ready for the January 2014 release.

“Lots of exciting things happening in the MAGNUM camp. Details will be confirmed and shared very soon, we hope.”

MAGNUM‘s latest CD, “On The 13th Day”, came out in September 2012.

Of all the bands to come out of the recent wave of Scandinavian retro rock, Sweden’s Graveyard are one that have stuck around, proving they’re not just a fad and coming out with the killer album Lights Out last year. Today, despite the decent-sized crowd they’ve attracted, it seems that the Zippo Stage may not be the best place for them as the murky guitar sound gets a bit lost outdoors – the Pepsi Max tent would have been a far more suitable setting for their hazy, atmospheric rock ‘n’ roll. Regardless, songs like the mellowed-out Slow Motion Countdown travel well across a sea of Download punters lazing on the (miraculously, rather dry) grass and nodding their heads, beers in hand – perfect background noise, but in an indoor setting it could have been so much more.

“You either love us or hate us,” says Hacktivist’s Timfy James when the band hit the Pepsi Max stage in the afternoon. Judging by the sheer amount of people headbanging in the tent to every song, the Download audience loves Hacktivist. While the ‘rap metal’ label may evoke the image of whiny backwards-baseball-capped white boys and cause diehard metallers to shudder, Hacktivist’s sound is more like a mix of UK grime and technical metal, with everything from screams to melodic clean vocals to the fast and furious rapping of J Hurley. It’s heavy, aggressive, progressive, with scathing lyrics – what’s not to love? While filming the whole set, the boys even cover Jay-Z and Kanye West, giving them a metal-over, and who else could pull that off without getting bottled? Nicely done, lads.

Finnish act SoulHealer has checked in with the following update about completing the recording process for a new album:

“One year has passed again, and this was a really great one for SoulHealer. One highlight was for sure our first show in Germany at the warmup show of the Headbangers Open Air, where we had a blast. And we hope and promise to be back in Deutschland as soon as possible. It was also great to share the stage with our heroes from Zero Nine at Lankafest.

“And last but not least we signed a worldwide deal with Pure Legend Records, a sublabel of the german record label Pure Steel Records last summer, where we will release our coming album.

“And here we can tell you, that we have finished our studio work there last weekend. All songs are recorded, and now Janne Tolsa will take care of mixing and mastering everything at Note On – Studio.

“We are more than happy with our recording sessions and how everything turned out. And we think that we have produced a killer album, with some of the strongest SoulHealer songs ever. We know almost all bands say this about their newest album, but this is the feeling we have at the moment, and we want to share it with you.

“Well, you will be able to make your own opinion pretty soon. We are looking forward for another great SoulHealer year 2013, and we hope you are doing too.”
