Supremely talented UK newcomers Empress have drawn comparisons with everyone from Mastodon to Pink Floyd in their forward-thinking, riff-heavy and hook-laden take on modern progressive rock and metal. New video Deeper In Disguise is taken from their untitled debut album, out later this year, and to be perfectly honest, it’s awesome.

Empress support Bring Me The Horizon and Crossfaith on the following UK dates:

APRIL
29 – MANCHESTER Academy II
30 – NEWCASTLE University
MAY
01 – INVERNESS Ironworks
02 – GLASGOW ABC

Cancer Bats: True Canadian Hardcore

Quite frankly, if you’re not already well aware that Cancer Bats are one of the most essential live acts in the world today, you’ve either been stuck under a planet-shaped rock for the past five years or you’ve been spending far too much time dicking about.

After dropping their best work yet in last year’s amazing Dead Set On Living and following it up with the ridiculously knackering Pentagram Tour, the Canadian hardcore ragers returned to our shores late last year with a sterling stint supporting Hertfordshire ravecore crew Enter Shikari. It was amazing, obviously, and now they’re back once more, ripping through the UK on a tour that also features Brutality Will Prevail and Empress. We’re gonna be honest; if you’re not excited by this one, just go home, pick up a Sharpie and write “MUG” in massive letters, right across your forehead. Go on. You mug.

The remaining dates on Bats’ tour are below, with tickets still available for some dates, so go down, lose all the shit you have left to give and try not to hurt yourself.CHILDREN OF NOTHING, THIS IS OUR SONG!

Cancer Bats UK Tour

14 – LEEDS Cockpit
15 – LONDON Koko
16 – SOUTHAMPTON The Cube
17 – MILTON KEYNES Craufurd Arms
18 – NORWICH Waterfront
19 – NOTTINGHAM Rescue Rooms
20 – READING Sub 89
21 – BRISTOL The Fleece
22 – BRIGHTON The Haunt
