U.K.’s Total Guitar magazine recently conducted an interview with KORN guitarists James “Munky” Shaffer and “Brian “Head” Welch. You can now watch the chat below.

KORN‘s 11th studio album, “The Paradigm Shift”, is the first to feature original Welch in more than eight years. Welch rejoined the group permanently earlier this year after leaving in 2005.

KORN will release “The Paradigm Shift” on October 8. A deluxe edition will feature two bonus tracks and a documentary DVD called “Reconciliation”.

In an interview with AltSounds, KORN singer Jonathan Davis was asked if “The Paradigm Shift” was the band’s way of trying to appease KORN‘s hardcore fans after the dubstep influence on the last CD. “We wanted to do what we do best,” he said. “Yes, we love our fans, but we’re not trying to make the same record over and over. Sure, when we write certain parts we say to each other, ‘The fans are gonna go crazy here,’ but the fans that are the most vocal about it, if we paid attention to that all the time, we’d just be making the same thing over and over.”

Speaking about Welch‘s return to the group, Davis said: “It was good to have him back, and it opened up the opportunity for Head and Munky to do what they’re so good at. You know, playing off each other. So, it just clicked as if no time had passed. It was great to have our brother back again. With him being back and everything… it really worked.”

PitCam.TV recently conducted an interview with KORN guitarists James “Munky” Shaffer and Brian “Head” Welch. You can now watch the chat below.

KORN‘s 11th studio album, “The Paradigm Shift”, is due out on October 8. The follow-up to 2011’s “The Path Of Totality” features the return of Brian “Head” Welch to the lineup after more than eight years away. His last album with the band was 2003’s “Take A Look In The Mirror”.

Singer Jonathan Davis told The Pulse Of Radio what the experience was like having Welch back in the studio, making this record extra special.

‘Untouchables’ used to be my favorite, but this one’s mine now,” he said. “You know, it’s just all those years of work and being able to be in a band this long with the guys. And having Head back bringing, you know, that old chemistry back with him with Munky on the rock side and I was on the electronic side. It was good having the compromise on both sides. It was just good for the creative process, I think.”

Songs on the new set, which was recorded with producer Don Gilmore (LINKIN PARK, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, LACUNA COIL) at Buck Owens‘ studio in KORN‘s original hometown Bakersfield and at Los Angeles’s famed NRG Recording Studios, include first single “Never Never”, “Prey For Me”, “Spike In My Veins”, “Mass Hysteria”, “Paranoid And Aroused” and “Victimized”.

The deluxe version of “The Paradigm Shift” will contain two bonus tracks and a 60-minute documentary chronicling Head‘s return to the band produced by the band’s behind-the-scenes “filmographer,” Sebastien Paquet.

KORN has unveiled the lineup for its one-day edition of the revived Family Values festival. This year’s show, which will take place at the 1st Bank Center in Denver on October 5, will include ASKING ALEXANDRIA, HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD, MACHINE GUN KELLY and BEWARE OF DARKNESS in addition to the headliners.
