UK extreme metal royalty Carcass will headline Damnation Festival in November!

“We’re very excited about the prospect of returning to Damnation Festival this year,” says guitarist Bill Steer. “Our appearance there in 2008 was a major highlight for us and this time around, people can expect to hear a fairly different Carcass set. The old favourites will be in there, of course, but we’re also planning to play a couple of the less obvious tracks from our past, as well as songs from the album we’ve just completed. Join us!”

Not a bad start at all, that. Damnation takes place on November 2 at Leeds University Union. To buy tickets (currently available at 2012 prices), visit http://www.leedstickets.co.uk , the official Damnation Festival website at http://www.damnationfestival.co.uk or facebook.com/damnationfestival

Amenra has revealed the cover artwork for new album “Mass V,” which can be viewed below, and the following press release was also issued:

“To Amenra, aesthetics are not merely supplementary to the musical experience but essential to it, and for their monumental new album Mass V, they have surpassed themselves. Today the band has proudly unveiled the artwork and track listing for the album which will see the light of day on November 27th, their first for new label home Neurot Recordings. All photos contained in the layout for Mass V were taken by Stefaan Temmerman and the art itself was made and assembled by Webecameaware.”

On the subject of the album’s visual aspects, the band revealed the following personal testimonial about how it came to be: “In November 2011 we went out wandering through our own and neighbouring countries. Looking for the perfect setting for the artwork to the new album. After a couple of days our trail ended at the village of Wissant in North France. The site is a gathering of destroyed bunkers from the second World War. The force and strength coming from these weathered constructions was overwhelming. Concrete blasted to pieces, hundreds of bullet holes everywhere, the salt and sand were once covered in blood. We drew respect from these stone temples, this once, was a world of pain. We stayed overnight at the site and slept on one of the bunkers just so we could get swallowed by the sea as tide came in and when the dawn brought first light, Stefaan Temmerman took the picture we knew was going to be perfect to represent our MASS V. It was a long and cold night.”

The album’s track listing is:

1. Dearborn and Buried
2. Boden
3. A Mon Ame
4. Nowena I 9.10

Amenra’s upcoming tour dates are as follows:

10/06/2012 Club Fabrica – Bucharest, Romania
