Fan-filmed video footage of British heavy metal vocalist Blaze Bayley‘s (IRON MAIDEN, WOLFSBANE) entire March 8 performance at the Underworld in London, England can be seen below.

Blaze‘s “Soundtracks Of My Life” tour will see him play 33 gigs in 40 days in 15 countries, celebrating Bayley‘s 30 years in the industry.

Bayley released a career-spanning double-disc collection, “Soundtracks Of My Life”, on October 31, 2013.

Metal Mind Productions recently released the two-CD version of Blaze Bayley‘s “Alive In Poland” (previously available only as part of the limited-edition “Alive In Poland” DVD) in Europe and North America.

“Alive In Poland” was recorded in Poland in April 2007 during the 21st edition of Metalmania festival in Katowice, Poland. It features a fantastic, over-one-and-a-half-hour show during which Blaze presented the best tracks from his discography, as well as select tracks from IRON MAIDEN (“Man On The Edge”, “Futureal”).

Bayley‘s latest studio album, “The King Of Metal”, was released in March 2012. The CD was recorded at Fear Studio in Ravenna, Italy.

The 50-year-old Bayley, who was born in Birmingham, was the original frontman in WOLFSBANE, but left in 1994 to replace Bruce Dickinson as the lead singer of IRON MAIDEN.

The fifth installment in Relapse’s exhaustive reissue campaign of DEATH‘s immensely influential catalog is “Leprosy”, the band’s titanic second album. Originally released in 1988 the pioneering LP built upon the thrash sounds of METALLICA and SLAYER but added a previously unheard level of raw extremity. These songs are the roots of an entire genre: death metal. While this was only the second record DEATH released, it immediately cemented them as heavy metal icons.

The “Leprosy” reissue will be made available on April 25 in Benelux, Germany, Finland; April 29 in North America and April 28 in the the rest of the world. The entire album, as well as the bonus material, has been painstakingly remastered by Alan Douches (MASTODON, NILE) and will be reissued in the following format:

* 2xCD/Limited Edition
* 3xCD/LP/Picture Disc LP/Limited Edition
* 2xLP Box set/Digtal

The Deluxe 2xCD contains 50 minutes of previously unheard and unreleased “Leprosy” demos and rehearsal material housed in an embossed o-card package with a 24-page booklet featuring unseen pictures of the band as well as brand new liner notes from Ian Christe (SiriusXM) and Jeremy Wagner (BROKEN HOPE). The LP features the remastered core album on wax together with a download card for all of the music included on the 2xCD.

A remastered version of the death metal classic “Pull The Plug” can be heard below.

In addition to the 2xCD reissue, a super limited 3xCD version will be available exclusively from www.relapse.com featuring everything included on 2xCD version plus an exclusive third CD featuring over 40 minutes of unreleased live material, housed in a deluxe embossed eight-panel digipak with a 24-page booklet, limited and numbered to 2000 copies.

To coincide with THE CULT‘s “Electric 13″ world tour, the band has created an iconic limited-edition surfboard.

“[The 1979 American epic war film] ‘Apocalypse Now’ was a huge influence on the ‘Electric’ album,” says THE CULT singer Ian Astbury. “Many of the songs such as ‘Love Removal Machine’ and ‘Peace Dog’ feature ‘Apocalypse Now’ influences.

“After seeing ‘Apocalypse Now’, I became fascinated with the subcultures that existed during the Vietnam War, especially the scenes that focused on Lieutenant Colonel Kilgore‘s (Robert Duvall) love of surfing and his iconic surfboard.

“Surfer culture during the Vietnam War has always been a great muse to me. The idea of a culture so free and expressive in the violent and oppressive environment of a war zone is such a great symbol of man’s desire to master his environment and coexist with nature. The board had become an object of desire. I always wanted to own one. So we created the Death From Below / Surf Cult version.”

“Death From Below” was conceived and designed by Ian Astbury and Sonya Koshuta, with board shaper Bob Davis (Carrozza Surf Boards).

Slipknot’s Clown: busy bee

Slipknot‘s M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan has unveiled the first model of a new, limited-edition series of official Clown masks that’ll go on sale each year.

50 editions of the “Clown001″ are on sale at $500 each, with each one coming hand-painted and so featuring unique touches that essentially make it a one-of-a-kind.

“I decided that every year on my birthday I’m going to release a new clown mask,” explains the man himself. “As you know, I’ve tried to get some masks out to the public and it hasn’t quite yet added up to everything I wanted to be. Now I’m collaborating with a friend named Jason Kain and we are going to bring you the new way in clownology.

“I just put them up today. I’m going to put masks out every year with a new story. Clown001 is starting it all off. In the near future, you will receive the story behind clown001.”

Clown confirmed to Metal Hammer earlier this year that we’ll be seeing a new Slipknot album in 2014, following the Des Moines legends’ show-stealing set at Download earlier this year. Brace yourselves.

SLIPKNOT percussionist M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan the released the first in a limited-edition series of “clown” masks. Crahan said: “I feel being 44 years old today [September 24] is the beginning of a new era for myself for whatever reason.

“I decided that every year on my birthday I’m going to release a new clown mask.

“Clown001 is starting it all off.

“In the near future, you will receive the story behind clown001.”

Only 50 Clown001 masks are available and are priced at $500 apiece. Each mask is hand-painted so there will be slight differences between masks and it takes anywhere from three to six hours to complete. It takes about 2-3 days to complete one of these and each one is made with care.

SLIPKNOT has performed live over the past two years but has not recorded a new album since 2008′s “All Hope Is Gone”.

Crahan spoke with Kerrang! magazine about the band’s continued delay in recording a new studio CD. The SLIPKNOT co-founder explained: “We haven’t written an album in five years because we wrote one, we toured it for two years, and Paul died, and it’s been three years. What do you want from me? Nothing. When I come back, when we come back, it will be time, you will understand, we will understand, and it will be right. We’ll be the first band that could be off for five years and come back like we never were gone. So that’s what it’s all about.”
