Surgical Steel, the highly anticipated comeback album from the legendary band Carcass, is a smashing success. Their current lineup includes longtime members Jeff Walker and Bill Steer along with new drummer Daniel Wilding. Formed in the late ’60s, Accept was hugely successful in their native Germany, and had some U.S. success as well in the ’80s with songs like “Balls To The Wall.” Their last studio CD was in 1996, and singer Udo Dirkschneider left Accept to concentrate on his own band. There have been a couple of brief reunions and tours, but they never recorded together. Fast forward to 2009, and longtime members guitarist Wolf Hoffmann and bassist Peter Baltes recruited new singer Mark Tornillo. Guitarist Herman Frank and drummer Stefan Schwarzman rejoined the group, and Accept has recorded Blood Of The Nations, produced by Andy Sneap. Hoffmann tells us how they found Tornillo, the recording of the album, their upcoming U.S. tour and other subjects.

Y&T, featuring original members Dave Meniketti (vocals and lead guitars) and Phil Kennemore (bass), along with longtime members John Nymann (guitar) and Mike Vanderhule (drums), will release its first studio album in 13 years, aptly titled “Facemelter”, in Europe on May 21 via Frontiers Records.
