“Going To Hell”, the second album from THE PRETTY RECKLESS, the band led by actress-turned-singer Taylor Momsen, is likely to sell between 30,000 and 35,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to industry web site Hits Daily Double. The estimate was based on one-day sales reports compiled after the record arrived in stores on March 18 via Razor & Tie. The chart will be unveiled on Wednesday, March 26.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, THE PRETTY RECKLESS has become the second female-fronted act in the last three years to hit No. 1 on the rock radio chart. The band’s new single, “Heaven Knows”, hit the top of the survey last week, allowing THE PRETTY RECKLESS to join the Lzzy Hale-fronted HALESTORM as part of a small and very select list of chart-topping rock acts fronted by women.

“Going To Hell” follows up THE PRETTY RECKLESS‘ 2010 debut full-length, “Light Me Up”, as well as a 2012 EP called “Hit Me Like A Man”.

Momsen began her career as an actress when she was a child before becoming a full-time musician years later. She told The Pulse Of Radio that her family always knew this was what she really wanted to do. “They knew that music was always where I was headed, and what my — that was my passion and my goal,” she said. “I mean, acting was a day job, essentially, while I worked on writing a record’s worth of material that I wanted people to hear, and finding the right people to work with and the right band and all that. So they weren’t surprised when I jumped ship.”

The video for “Heaven Knows”, in which Momsen appears semi-nude, has gotten more than 2.7 million views on VEVO.

THE PRETTY RECKLESS is currently supporting FALL OUT BOY on tour in Europe and will return to the U.S. next month for an appearance at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards on April 23 in Los Angeles.

The band is also confirmed to perform at all of the major U.S. rock festivals, including Rock On the Range, Rocklahoma, Fort Rock, Welcome To Rockville, Rock Fest Kansas City and others.

Vocalist/guitarist Lzzy Hale and guitarist Joe Hottinger of Pennsylvanian rockers HALESTORM were interviewed on the latest episode of the “Talking Metal” podcast. You can now listen to the chat using the audio player below. (Note: The HALESTORM interview begins around the 13-minute mark.)

HALESTORM will release its new EP, “ReAniMate 2.0: The CoVeRs eP”, on October 15 via Atlantic.

The EP marks the acclaimed hard rock band’s first new release since their stunning Grammy Awards triumph earlier this year, as well as the follow-up to 2011’s “ReAniMate: The CoVeRs eP”. As with its predecessor, “ReAniMate 2.0: The CoVeRs eP” sees HALESTORM putting their distinctive brand on a strikingly eclectic collection of classic songs, including legendary tracks by JUDAS PRIEST, AC/DC, PAT BENATAR, FLEETWOOD MAC, MARILYN MANSON, and DAFT PUNK.

“Like our first ‘ReAniMate’ EP, the songs included here are a collection of both our favorite songs and songs to challenge ourselves,” said Lzzy Hale. We decided to go more ‘bare bones’ with this EP, meaning minimal production with live, gritty performances. We recorded this EP the week of the Grammys, so the excitement and debauchery you hear through your speakers is very real. We hope all our fans have as much fun with ‘ReAniMate: 2.0’ as we did!”

“ReAniMate 2.0: The CoVeRs eP” track listing:

01. Dissident Aggressor (originally performed by JUDAS PRIEST)
02. Get Lucky (originally performed by DAFT PUNK)
03. Shoot To Thrill (originally performed by AC/DC)
04. Hell Is For Children (originally performed by PAT BENATAR)
05. Gold Dust Woman (originally performed by FLEETWOOD MAC)
06. 1996 (originally performed by MARILYN MANSON)

2011’s “ReAniMate: The CoVeRs eP” contained covers of tracks from SKID ROW, LADY GAGA and GUNS N’ ROSES. Singer Lzzy Hale told The Pulse Of Radio that recording other artists’ songs helps her own writing. “There’s just nothing like singing and playing and picking apart an already proven amazing song,” she said. “I think it helps you as a songwriter. I’ll write a song and be like, ‘Well, is that as good as HEART‘s ‘All I Wanna Do Is Make Love To You’, and I’ll have to be like, ‘No, back to the drawing board.'”

HALESTORM has issued an official music video for the song “Here’s To Us”, the latest single off the band’s 2012 sophomore album, “The Strange Case Of…” Singer Lzzy Hale told Rolling Stone, “We wrote this song literally as our personal anthem. We’ve been through a lot together as a band, and we’ve learned to celebrate the low times as well as the highs. It’s about toughin’ out and respecting the journey for us, and that’s how we have kept it together as a foursome for 10 years! Here’s to us!”

The band recently recorded an alternate version of the track featuring guest appearances from Slash, SHINEDOWN‘s Brent Smith, ALTER BRIDGE‘s Myles Kennedy, DEVICE‘s David Draiman and others. Hale told The Pulse Of Radio that that version of the song was all about unity in the rock scene. “Everyone always thinks everybody’s in competition,” she said. “‘Oh, you know, we’re in competition for the charts!’ We’re in competition like, ‘Did you have a better set than me? Are you a better player?’ And it was important for all of us to show that none of that matters. We’re all in this together.”
