Bassist Chris Beattie of Connecticut hardcore/metal masters HATEBREED will sit out the band’s fall North American headlining tour after sustaining an injury in an accident. His temporary replacement on the road will be Matt Bachand of SHADOWS FALL.

HATEBREED‘s tour kicks off tonight (Thursday, September 26) in Poughkeepsie, New York and features direct support from SHADOWS FALL, along with special guests THE ACACIA STRAIN and BATTLECROSS.

Says Beattie: “On Monday, a large branch fell off a tree I was cutting and knocked the ladder I was on out from under me. I fell 8 feet off the ladder onto the sidewalk and luckily was able to throw the chainsaw away from me on the way down. I broke my left wrist and right elbow.

“I will be going ‘under the knife’ this Friday to correct the breaks and start the healing process.

Jamey [Jasta, vocals], Wayne [Lozinak, guitar], Matt [Byrne, drums], Frank [Novinec, guitar] and our manager Steve have all been very supportive and I look forward to getting back out on the stage as soon as I can.

“Please go out and support HATEBREED as they leave for a short U.S. tour today.

“Thanks to Matt from SHADOWS FALL for filling in for me. See you soon.”

HATEBREED‘s latest album, “The Divinity Of Purpose”, sold 17,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 20 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was made available on January 29 in North America via Razor & Tie and on January 25 in Europe through Nuclear Blast. The CD was co-produced by HATEBREED, Chris “Zeuss” Harris (SUICIDE SILENCE, ALL THAT REMAINS, SHADOWS FALL) and Josh Wilbur (LAMB OF GOD, AVENGED SEVENFOLD), with Wilbur also handling mixing duties. The cover artwork was created and illustrated by Eliran Kantor (TESTAMENT, ATHEIST, SIGH, ANACRUSIS, GWAR).

The Metal Allstars tour will feature “some of the biggest contributors to the heavy metal genre along with some of the most technical musicians in the industry,” according to a press release.

Metal Allstars will be offering unique items and experiences to be auctioned off in order to raise funds for Ride For Dime. Shadows Fall guitarist Matt Bachand will be the bassist for Times of Grace’s upcoming U.S. tour with Underoath, the band’s label, Roadrunner Records, announced.

Bachand, a longtime friend of TOG/Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz and vocalist Jesse Leach, takes over for bassist Daniel Struble, who has left the band to tend to “personal matters.” Struble also plays in Five Pointe O. The rest of the band will be rounded out by Dutkiewicz’ KsE guitar partner Joel Stroetzel and drummer Dan Gluszak.

“Losing Daniel was a blow to the Times of Grace camp, but we knew he had to do what was best for him and his family,” said Leach. “Having Matt show interest in joining the touring lineup could not have been a better fit! I have been a fan of Matt’s voice and guitar work for many years. I am honored and very stoked to have him join us on tour to play bass and sing backup vocals. Matt is a great guy, and someone Adam, Joel and I have all known for years. Personality-wise and as a musician, it clicks so well. I am certain Matt will add a great vibe and bring his own style to the live show!”

Bachand said: “I am very excited to be a part of Times of Grace. Not only will it be great to get onstage with some old friends, but I am looking forward to something new musically as this role as bassist will be a very different experience from my role as guitarist of Shadows Fall.”

Dutkiewicz, who formed the band last year with Leach, former vocalist for KsE, said of Bachand joining the tour: “I’ll miss the crap out of Dan, but I’m so stoked to be bro-ing down with our longtime beer-swilling bassist bud Bachand. Come out to the shows and prepare to flex!”
