A teaser for the new song “Disconnect Me” from Montreal, Quebec, Canada-based melodic death metallers THE AGONIST can be seen below. The full track will be released on March 21.

THE AGONIST earlier in the week announced the addition of singer Vicky Psarakis to the group’s ranks. Vicky joins THE AGONIST as the replacement for Alissa White-Gluz, who left the band to focus on her new gig as the frontwoman of ARCH ENEMY.

Comments THE AGONIST in a statement: “We announce that after three albums and countless tours, we officially part ways with vocalist Alissa White-Gluz. We wish Alissa all the best with ARCH ENEMY and her future endeavors.

“It is the beginning of a new and exciting chapter for THE AGONIST! We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to the THE AGONIST family. Please give a warm welcome to very talented vocalist Vicky Psarakis!”

THE AGONIST‘s third album, “Prisoners”, debuted at No. 19 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

“Prisoners”, was released on June 4, 2012 in Europe and June 5, 2012 in North America via Century Media Records. The CD was produced by Christian Donaldson (CRYPTOPSY) and mixed by Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, DARK TRANQUILLITY, SUICIDE SILENCE) and it “picks right up where 2009′s ‘Lullabies For The Dormant Mind’ left off, with soaring melodies over complex metal passages that fans of thinking-man’s metal can appreciate,” according to a press release.

Digital Tour Bus, which gives fans “an all-access pass” to the tour buses that their favorite bands travel in, has posted its latest “Bus Invaders” episode, focusing on Swedish melodic death metallers DARK TRANQUILLITY. The four-minute clip, which was filmed February 12 in Joliet, Ilinois, can be seen below.

On its North American tour, DARK TRANQUILLITY sold a seven-inch EP entitled “A Memory Construct”, which will also be released digitally in the beginning of March. Recorded during the “Construct” sessions, the single contains the two songs, is limited to 500 copies worldwide and is available on a transparent red wax. Featured tracks are the previously unreleased “A Memory Construct” and “Sorrows Architect”, previously only available as a limited flexi seven-inch released with issue #106 of Decibel magazine.

DARK TRANQUILLITY‘s tenth studio album, “Construct”, was released on May 27, 2013 via Century Media Records. The CD was mixed by Jens Bogren (PARADISE LOST, OPETH, KATATONIA) at his Fascination Street studios in Örebro, Sweden.

DARK TRANQUILLITY filmed a music video for the song “Uniformity” on April 13, 2013 with Patric Ullaeus of Revolver Film Company, who has previously worked with DIMMU BORGIR, LACUNA COIL, IN FLAMES, SONIC SYNDICATE and KAMELOT, among others.

Italy’s READY, SET, FALL! has inked a deal with Lifeforce Records. The band’s full-length debut, “Memento”, will be released in February 2014.

According to a press release, READY, SET, FALL! “combines Swedish melodic death with American metalcore and a strong preference for agile variability.

“Listening to ‘Memento’, you cannot avoid to think of SOILWORK, IN FLAMES, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE or ALL THAT REMAINS. This is exactly what READY, SET, FALL! want to achieve, without just copying those established acts. The quintet is driven by its internalization of modern-style metal, being played without any boundaries or restrictions.”

READY, SET, FALL! was formed in Genoa in 2010. Some of the members have roots within the pop-punk genre (WHERE EVERYTHING IS, THE LAST BANNED) while others paid their dues as part of metalcore and metal acts such as BLOOD, SWEAT AND NO TEARS, ASPASIA and LIVING CORPSE.

A video for the song “Labyrinth”, taken from “Memento”, can be seen below.

Craving has posted a music video for the band’s cover of “Only Teardrops,” which can be found below, and Apostasy Records also comments on the track: “Covering has a long tradition within the metal-scene but bands mostly pay tribute to their idols or just cover some classic tunes. The Northern German melodic death / black metal-outfit Craving made it a little different. The guys took the song ‘Only Teardrops’ by Emmelie De Forest who won this year’s European Songcontest and put their own unique stamp on it.

Finnish melodic death metallers INSOMNIUM have released the first song, “Ephemeral”, off their forthcoming album, to be released in 2014 via Century Media Records. The first track to feature new guitarist Markus Vanhala (also in OMNIUM GATHERUM), who replaced Ville Vänni in 2011, “Ephemeral” will be made available digitally in Europe on September 23 and will be accompanied by three bonus tracks — acoustic songs that can be heard in the background of the recently released INSOMNIUM documentary.

Comments the band: “After the success of our last single, ‘Weather The Storm’, we decided that it would be a good idea to record some new material this summer before releasing the actual new full-length album. This was also a good opportunity to explore different studios and work with different people. Just to explore our sound a bit more in terms of production.

“And here we are finally; happy to introduce you our new single, ‘Ephemeral’.

“The drums recorded by Kimmo Perkkiö at SF Sound (Finland). Everything else recorded by Teemu Aalto at Korkeakoski Studios, Kotka (Finland). The song was mixed and mastered by André Alvinzi and Jens Bogren, respectively, at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden.

“It was nice challenge to work on the instrumental side of INSOMNIUM and come up with music that has more cinematic edge to it. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.”

INSOMNIUM‘s latest album, “One For Sorrow”, was released in October 2011 in North America via Century Media Records. The CD was recorded in Gothenburg, Sweden with sound engineer Daniel Antonsson (also bassist in DARK TRANQUILLITY and guitarist in DIMENSION ZERO) and at Fantom studios in Tempere, Finland, where the album was also mixed by Samu Oittisen.

INSOMNIUM in 2011 parted ways with guitarist Ville Vänni and replaced him with Markus Vanhala (OMNIUM GATHERUM).

More behind-the-scenes footage from the making of “The Monster Within”, the fourth album from Stockholm, Sweden-based melodic death metallers DEGRADEAD, can be seen below. Released on August 23 via Metalville, the CD was recorded between January 14 and February 2 at Panic Room studios in Skara with producer Thomas “Plec” Johansson and marks the group’s first release with new drummer Amit Mohla. According to the band, “This album ended up being the best DEGRADEAD album so far! More dynamic, more melodic, more thrashy, more of everything!”

Commented Johansson: “It has been great going back to the roots even on this one. No drum triggers or sample replacements used whatsoever, which is otherwise so commonplace in today’s metal productions. We did it the hard way, with getting the right sounds from the start and having Amit actually playing the parts until we got the takes we needed, tuning the drums in between takes, switching snares for different songs etc… No plugins were used in the process either other than for very surgical tasks and special FX. All other processing are real chambers, hardware reverbs, delays, compression and EQ. Five times more work, but five times more fun and inspiring plus it’s five times more fun to listen to.”

“The Monster Within” track listing:

01. One Against All
02. The Monster Within
03. For Better Or Worse
04. Dead Will Come Alive
05. We’ll Meet Again
06. The Dark Mind
07. Strive To Struggle
08. Scars Of Misery
09. Tendency To Sin
10. Sorrow Never Survives

The “For Better Or Worse” video can be seen below.

DEGRADEAD‘s singer, Mikael Sehlin, recently joined fellow Swedes ENGEL as their new frontman.

Regarding what impact Sehlin‘s addition to ENGEL will have on his status in DEGRADEAD, DEGRADEAD said: “Mikael is still our vocalist and he is still 100% dedicated to DEGRADEAD and this will not affect DEGRADEAD.”

DEGRADEAD‘s third album, “A World Destroyer”, was released in North America on June 28, 2011 via Metalville Records.

On August 6, 2010, DEGRADEAD played for their first time at the Wacken Open Air festival in Wacken. Germany. Their full set, as performed on the W.E.T Stage before an enthusiastic audience, along with many extras, is included on the DVD release, “Live At Wacken And Beyond”, which was released on February 28, 2012 via Metalville Records. The disc also contains “From Tullinge To Hyderabad”, a 50-minute documentary following DEGRADEAD from their first years in Tullinge, a small suburb south of Stockholm where the band was formed, to their successful tour of India in February 2011. The video for “Point Zero Solution”, the title track of the third album from Swedish melodic death metallers DEALS DEATH, can be seen below. The clip was directed by Patric Ullaeus of Revolver Film Company, who has previously worked with DIMMU BORGIR, LACUNA COIL, IN FLAMES, SONIC SYNDICATE and KAMELOT, among others.

Comments DEALS DEATH guitarist Erik Jacobson: “‘Point Zero Solution’ introduces the factors that lie behind a weakened society, a failed state. The lyrics deal with our human behaviour and our quest for comfort and luxury, at any cost.”

DEALS DEATH vocalist and lyricist Olle Ekman says about the album as a whole. “It’s a step-by-step description of the process which breaks down the systems of nature and society, our false hopes, our credulity towards authority and the belief in eternal growth.”

“Point Zero Solution” will be released on September 13 via Spinefarm Records. The CD, which was forged in the deep woods of Grangärde, Sweden, “contains 11 songs packed with a lyrical edge, delivered with all our blood, sweat and toil,” says the band.

Having introduced themselves to a wider audience with last year’s “Elite”, the new CD shows DEALS DEATH‘s staying power and musical evolution with lush arrangements, deadlier output through and through and melodic hooks catchier than ever before.

“Point Zero Solution” track listing:

01. Point Zero Solution
02. Facing The Echoes
03. Escalation
04. Flatline
05. Passion For Infinity
06. The Separation
07. Paramount Authority
08. Beyond Reason
09. Dark Dream Dawn
10. Back To Consciousness
11. Author Of Arts

The story of DEALS DEATH began in a music college called Boomtown, where guitarist Erik Jacobson met a couple of other students. With some further twists to the story, with which we need not bother, the band released its self-financed debut, “Internal Demons”, in 2009 to rave reviews.

In 2009, DEALS DEATH recruited new members in Gothenburg and made the city their base. The second album, “Elite”, was recorded in May 2010 in Gothenburg and mixed by Jonas Kjellgren (SCAR SYMMETRY). A promo video was shot for the song “Fortified” and released in April 2011. The clip made waves on the metal scene (surpassing already half a million views) and then, a fortuitous bounce launched DEALS DEATH to a larger-than-just-metal audience, when vocalist Olle Ekman‘s ‘Death Metal Vocal Exercises” video became a surprise YouTube hit.

“Dreamscape”, the new Tage Rönnqvist-directed video from Finnish melodic death metallers MYGRAIN, can be seen below. The song comes off the band’s fourth album, “Planetary Breathing”, which will be released on September 27 via Spinefarm Records. The CD was recorded during August and September 2012 at Sound Supreme studio with Janne Saksa, who previously worked with the band on their first two albums. The mixing and mastering was again handled by Dan Swanö (EDGE OF SANITY, BLOODBATH, NIGHTINGALE) at Unisound studios in Örebro, Sweden.

Commented MYGRAIN: “The debut album, ‘Orbit Dance’, was released in 2006. The second album, ‘Signs Of Existence’, came out two years later and the third one, ‘MyGrain’, in 2011. The last-mentioned felt like a launch to something new and it was like a new beginning for the band.

‘Planetary Breathing’ can be characterized through familiar MYGRAIN elements: the catchy choruses, melodies and keyboard lines are still there, whereas the winding and striking guitar riffs being a solid base of the MYGRAIN sound.

“We are so excited of the result we achieved with this album! Together with Janne and Dan, we managed to capture the most rich and balanced MYGRAIN sound so far.”

“Planetary Breathing” track listing:

01. Incantation
02. Waking Up The Damned
03. Ambivalentine
04. Black Light Supernova
05. Dreamscape
06. Rats in The Cradle
07. The Ghost in Me
08. Mechanimal Instinct
09. The Final Skyline
10. Planetary Breathing
