SLAYER members Dave Lombardo (drums) and Kerry King (guitar) were interviewed by Chicago music critics Jim Derogatis and Greg Kot for this weekend’s edition of NPR’s “Sound Opinions”.

A number of Swedish metal musicians have come together to record and release a song as a way of raising awareness and taking action on the topic of bullying and harrassment in schools.

Philip Anselmo says that his collaboration with fellow surviving Pantera members is unlikely to lead to any new original music.

The following update has been posted on the official web site of the Dutch symphonic metal band EPICA:

Former PANTERA and current DOWN singer Philip Anselmo tells Billboard.com that his collaboration with fellow surviving PANTERA members Vinnie Paul Abbott (drums) and Rex Brown (bass), along with the estate of the late guitarist “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott, to work together on PANTERA’s “Cowboys From Hell” reissue is unlikely to lead to any new original music from the former bandmates.
