DEVICE and DISTURBED frontman David Draiman and his wife, Japanese-American model, actress and wrestler Lena Yada, welcomed a baby boy, Samuel Bear Isamu Draiman, this morning at 12:58 a.m.

In a Facebook post, Draiman wrote, “MY DEAR FRIENDS, BORN AT 12:58 AM ON THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 12 2013, I WOULD LIKE TO INTRODUCE YOU TO OUR SON, SAMUEL BEAR ISAMU DRAIMAN. MY WIFE LENA IS SUPERWOMAN…29 HOURS OF LABOR! BOTH MOTHER AND CHILD ARE HEALTHY AND WELL. I THANK THE POWERS THAT BE FOR THIS GREATEST OF GIFTS. ALL MY LOVE AND RESPECT, -DAVID”

Draiman brought his then-pregnant wife up on stage during DEVICE‘s August 11 concert in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at the final stop of this summer’s Gigantour.

Draiman revealed the news of the pregnancy on May 2 on Twitter and also let the audience know at the Revolver Golden Gods awards, where he performed LED ZEPPELIN‘s “Whole Lotta Love” with HALESTORM.

Draiman and Yada were married in September 2011. The Pulse Of Radio asked Draiman at the time how he thought becoming a family man might change his music. “You know, I can only imagine that it would give me more inspiration to write,” he said. “I think that when you all of a sudden become a family man, and you have more to worry about than just yourself, your concerns, they build, in terms of things going on with the world, in terms of your life, in terms of your fears and your hopes and your dreams. And so I really think it’ll be a tremendous catalyst for potential inspiration.”

DEVICE released its self-titled debut album on April 9. It debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard album chart, selling 35,000 copies in its first week of release.

“That song kind of came from that ‘Symphony Of Destruction’ corner of my mind,” Mustaine told Guitar World magazine. “You can’t always play aggressive, thrashy stuff. Sometimes those aren’t even songs; they’re like musical rams. But because I’m not a pop guy, I’m also not really comfortable playing sing-along songs. To me, ‘Super Collider’ made sense like a normal song — a verse-chorus-verse-chorus kind of thing. It’s written the way a real songwriter would write the song, instead of just taking all these musical twists and turns.”

UpVenue.com conducted an interview with guitarist Virus of DEVICE, the industrial-style project featuring DISTURBED frontman David Draiman, on August 10 at the Heavy MTL festival in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. You can now watch the chat below.

DEVICE has canceled all its tour dates for the next month and a half due to complications with the pregnancy of Draiman‘s wife. Draiman has decided to stay close to home until the baby is born, forcing the group to scrap all live appearances between now and the child’s due date in the first week of October. Draiman and his wife, Japanese-American model, actress and wrestler Lena Yada, are expecting a boy, already named Samuel Bear Draiman. Draiman revealed the news of the pregnancy on May 2 via Twitter before announcing it at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards.

Draiman told The Pulse Of Radio earlier this summer how excited he was about becoming a father. “I’m very much looking forward to it,” he said. “I’ve been wanting this for so, so, so long and to finally get to the point where he’s almost here — it’s getting me all verklemmt here. But it’s gonna be an amazing thing. I am overwhelmed with joy and just hope that Sam comes into the world, you know, a happy and healthy baby boy.”

Draiman and Yada were married in September 2011. The singer brought Yada up on stage recently during DEVICE‘s August 11 concert in Toronto.

DEVICE released a new music video earlier this month for the song “You Think You Know” from the band’s self-titled debut album.

DEVICE‘s debut CD entered at No. 11 on the Billboard album chart last April, selling 35,000 copies in its first week of release. Draiman launched the group last year after his main band, DISTURBED, went on hiatus in late 2011.
