Florida death metal veterans DEICIDE will release their new album, “In The Minds Of Evil”, on November 26 (one day earlier internationally) via Century Media Records. The CD was recorded at AudioHammer Studios in Sanford, Florida with producer Jason Suecof (TRIVIUM, AUGUST BURNS RED, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, ALL THAT REMAINS, WHITECHAPEL, DEVILDRIVER).

“In The Minds Of Evil” track listing:

01. In The Minds Of Evil
02. Thou Begone
03. Godkill
04. Beyond Salvation
05. Misery Of One
06. Between The Flesh And The Void
07. Even The Gods Can Bleed
08. Trample The Cross
09. Banished By Evil
10. Kill The Light Of Christ
11. End The Wrath Of God

The cover artwork (see below) was taken from Australian artist Simon Cowell‘s painting Power Of The Mind, and offers a fitting face to the album’s 11 tracks.

DEICIDE drummer Steve Asheim recently told Decibel magazine about the band’s working relationship with Suecof: “It’s awesome! I’ve known Jason since ’08. I had been going out to do the ORDER OF ENNEAD records with him. The last DEICIDE record we did with Mark [Lewis], but I’ve known Jason a long time, so I asked him if he was into it. He said, ‘Absolutely!’ I wanted to get one done ovith him before something happens. You never know.”

Regarding the lyrical themes covered on the new DEICIDE album, Asheim said: “[The lyrics] are typical Glen Benton. Blasphemous, brutal rhetoric. We’re going to get down and dirty this Blasphemous, brutal rhetoric. We’re going to get down and dirty this time around, so expect the lyrics to be brutal.”

According to Asheim, longtime fans will pick up on nuances inspired by the almighty “Legion” effort. “Jason wanted to capture the ‘Legion’ feel,” the drummer said. “We’re wanting Glen‘s vocals to sound more old-school. So, it’s a bit of the new with a little throwback action.”

As for DEICIDE‘s time at Audiohammer, Asheim said: “It’s pretty cut-and-dried these days. I’ve known Jason a few years. I kind of know his methodology, how he works. It’s a far drive, so we’ll spend two or three nights there. Once we knock it out, we’ll end up partying. We repeat that the next day.”

“To Hell With God” sold 2,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release.

DEICIDE‘s previous CD, “Till Death Do Us Part”, opened with 2,900 copies back in May 2008.

Says DARKANE: “We are extremely proud of this collaboration.

“We started actually recording our latest album, ‘The Sinister Supremacy’, which came out last summer, with a beer tasting at Helsingborgs Brewery and already there were sown enough seeds of this amazing collaboration. As far as metalcore goes, The Devil Wears Prada always got the nuances and specifics right. A healthy balance of clean and screamed vocals, heavy and melodic riffs, and rhythms to breakdowns have always been a part of their writing. I feel that lately, metalcore is starting to drift from fast and bright to slow …

Hell

We’ve only been sent another update on that new Hell album from our mate, Andy Sneap. What’s occurin’, Sneap?

“Spent most of today refining vocal ideas with Dave and getting final vocals down. We tend to demo things to a pretty high standard but its always good to come back and see whether you can better a take once we are all familiar with the songs. With most of the new stuff we’ve been jamming it as a band after demoing it to find comfortable tempos and little nuances that you only get in a band environment. Getting some great takes out of Dave, he’s really come into his own as a singer since the first record. Also been printing final keyboard stuff and getting rhythms down on another 2 songs. Solid 14 hr days in the studio right now but really confident with every song.”

New Hell album Curse And Chapter will be released November 25 via Nuclear Blast.

Tickets for this year’s monstrous Defenders Of The Faith IV tour are on sale….NOW!

Florida death metal veterans DEICIDE in January entered AudioHammer Studios in Sanford, Florida with producer Jason Suecof (TRIVIUM, AUGUST BURNS RED, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, ALL THAT REMAINS, WHITECHAPEL, DEVILDRIVER) to begin recording their new album for a late 2013 release via Century Media Records.

In a new Facebook message, the band states: “Vocals [are] done! Steve [Asheim, drums] goes in this week to complete drum edits and then the mixing process begins and then on to mastering, Century Media will be doing a press release shortly to announce the title and track listing and cover art… [We] can’t wait to unleash this beast upon you.”

THE MAN-EATING TREE — the atmospheric metal band featuring former SENTENCED drummer Vesa Ranta alongside current/former members of POISONBLACK, REFLEXION and EMBRAZE — has issued the following update:

“Our band has been working on a material for the third record for over a year now, with some very promising results.

“A few months ago, we went through all the material we’d already come up with and decided which songs we would continue with and would probably end up on the next THE MAN-EATING TREE record. At the end of August we’re about to enter the studio. We’re excited and certain that once again we’ve found some new elements to enrich our music. In the studio we have also some new things going on, this time we’ll be working with the producer/musician Aksu Hanttu.

“Describing our own music is always difficult, but you could say that our basic sound is getting somewhat heavier and more somber, but you still definitely recognize the old THE MAN-EATING TREE sound. Our new singer, Antti Kumpulainen, brings some new nuances to our sound. With him we’ve done more demo recordings than ever before.”

Says Kumpulainen: “I knew that my longtime friend Janne had this new band and I’d heard both ‘Vine’ and ‘Harvest’ and really liked the atmosphere there was. But what I didn’t know was that THE MAN-EATING TREE were looking for a new singer. So after a brief discussion with the members of the band, it became very clear that I wanted to be a part of THE MAN-EATING TREE.

“I’ve always been into music that has the light and the shade in it, some kind of ‘the beauty and the beast’ mentality.

“For me, music and lyrics together create an atmosphere that’s passionate, cathartic, beautiful, somber. Some sort of emotional passage which eventually will become cathartic.

“I have various musical inspirations, DEFTONES, NINE INCH NAILS, ALICE IN CHAINS, CULT OF LUNA, KATATONIA, PORTISHEAD and A PERFECT CIRCLE, to name some. But my main inspiration comes from the highs and the lows of our everyday lives.”

Adds Ranta: “Like I told you before, for the last year our band has been working hard with the new material. At the same time, our keyboardist Heidi Määttä was studying elsewhere in Finland. After her studies she felt that she’s no longer part of our band and therefore could not continue. There’s no drama, we just grew apart, that’s all. THE MAN-EATING TREE wants to thank Heidi for everything and wishes all the best for her.”

THE MAN-EATING TREE is:

Antti Kumpulainen – Vocals
Janne Markus (ex-POISONBLACK] – Guitar
Antti Karhu (CLOCK PARADOX) – Guitar
Mikko Uusimaa (REFLEXION) – Bass
Vesa Ranta (SENTENCED) – Drums

THE MAN-EATING TREE‘s sophomore album, “Harvest”, was released in November 2011 via Century Media Records. The CD was once again helmed by producer Hiili Hiilesmaa (HIM, SENTENCED, AMORPHIS) and marked the recording debut of guitarist Antti Karhu.

THE MAN-EATING TREE‘s debut album, “Vine”, came out in Finland on September 22, 2010 via Cobra Records and in other territories through Century Media Records.

Georgia’s experimental, apocalyptic punk rock band Circle Takes The Square has announced the new album “Decompositions: Volume 1″ will be released tomorrow, December 21st via the band’s own Gatepost Recordings. The album will be available digitally for a “pay what you like” price via Bandcamp here.

Over two years in the making, “Decompositions: Volume 1″ is CTTS’s first new album in over eight years, a follow up to 2004’s “As the Roots Undo.” Stream “Chapter I: RITES OF INITIATION” from “Decompositions: Volume 1″ in the player below.

Recorded/Mixed/Mastered by Anthony Stubelek at Rockstudio in Brunswick, GA, “Decompositions: Volume I” is a collection of songs comprised of three central musical narratives. Each composition maintains its own identity and story arc, while also playing an integral role in the overarching plotline that unfolds throughout the Decompositions’ two chapters. The following press release was issued about the album:

“In Chapter 1: RITES OF INITIATION, CTTS push their intricate and circuitous writing style to it’s furthest reaches, evoking labyrinthine soundscapes and psychological/visionary imagery in songs like ‘WAY OF EVER-BRANCHING PATHS’ and ‘SPIRIT NARRATIVE’ – all within an eclectic yet cohesive collage of punk, metal and even indie sounds.

“In Chapter 2: TOTEM POLARIS, CTTS breaks ground in new territories, often only hinted at in their past work. What may have been a fleeting moment of crushing sludge, or straight-forward thrash in their previous compositions, becomes the keystone in songs like ‘Arrowhead As Epilogue’ and ‘Singing Vengeance Into Being,’ where the prog-influenced nuances of Chapter 1 are still present, but used primarily as embellishments rather than foundations. Earthy overtones and esoteric references swirl around within the angular dirges Circle Takes the Square has conjured up in Decompositions: Volume 1, wherein the least expected sounds and passages (to those already initiated into the realm of CTTS), seem to ensure the band’s commitment to challenging themselves and their fans, with continued experiments inside the beautifully dark universe they’ve manifested.”

The track listing is:

Chapter I: Rites of Initiation
I. Enter By The Narrow Gates
II. Spirit Narrative
III. Way of Ever-Branching Paths
IV. The Ancestral Other Side

Chapter II: Totem Polaris
V. Prefaced By The Signal Fires
VI. A Closing Chapter (Scarlet Rising)
VII. Singing Vengeance Into Being
VIII. Arrowhead As Epilogue
IX. North Star, Inverted

Decompositions – Vol I. Chapter 1. Rites of Initiation by Circle Takes the Square
