Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison’s new band Scar The Martyr played their first ever US show in New York last weekend, and a fan-filmed video from the gig has been thrown online.

Have a watch below:

You can also hear a brand new track from the band, Blood Host, in all its HD glory. Blood Host is taken from the band’s debut effort, it out September 30, and features Kris Norris, Kyle Konkiel, Henry Derek, Jed Simon and, of course, Joey Jordison. Listen to it right freakin’ now!

“It’s very coincidental that Blood Host is our first track and video because it was the first song I wrote for this project when it was nothing but a mere idea at best,” says our Joey. “Songs of course followed, and molded into an overall feel, concept and now a full length album. Blood Host has it all, hypnotic riffs, soaring choruses, pummeling breakdowns and the lyrics are infectious in every sense. We are very proud of the track and it pretty much lets you know where we are coming from musically and what we are all about live. Scar the Martyr up close and personal.”

NYC-based duo Bangladeafy are prepared to release their new EP, a capsule of musical mayhem containing a burst of the most bewilderingly fun metallic fusion out there. The following press release was issued about the band: “With rabid rolls and pummeling percussion fueled with nutbar fingertapping, cerebellum-convulsing time change-ups, sporadic keyboard-interloping and the vocalizations and a general disregard for rulebooks, off-the-chain twosome Bangladeafy iercely perpetuates an original style of technical extreme music defying genre classifications and merging in a melee that’ll have jazz aficionados fighting prog critics while the tech metal fans bang their own faces off in their own anomalous sequences

The New Jersey technical death metal outfit Cognitive recently signed to Torture Music Records for the release of an upcoming full-length album, scheduled to hit stores in the latter half of 2013. The label comments:

“Formed in 2011, Cognitive is, despite its young history as a band, already a household name in the underground death metal scene. Having played in 11 states and shared stages with the likes of Macabre, Cattle Decapitation, Waking the Cadaver, and Internal Bleeding, as well as self-released debut EP, ‘The Horrid Swarm,’ in July 2012, the band shows no signs of slowing down as of winter 2012.

“With their upcoming self-titled full-length, Cognitive will pick up where they left off with ‘The Horrid Swarm,’ and deliver another release full of unmerciful technicality, pummeling grooves and vicious brutality.”

Cognitive also commented, “Thanks to all the fans who have been supporting us this past year! Lets make 2013 even sicker!”

Dave Suzuki, former guitarist for Vital Remains (1997-2009) and Ray McCaffrey (Sin Of Angels/Grief) have resurfaced with a new musical project callefd Churchburn. Dave comments, “Churchburn is very different from Vital Remains. Ray and I wanted to do something slow and heavy…just something pummeling to the listener.”

You can check out a song from the band titled “Kneel Upon Charred Remnants” in the player below. The following press release was also issued:

“Churchburn is the musical collaboration between two of the undergrounds masters of misery Dave Suzuki, best known for his mesmerizing guitar work and brutal drumming in Vital Remains and Ray McCaffrey, who carved out sonic drum patterns for Sin Of Angels and Grief. The two have set out to share with the world their love of the riff, not only the heaviest but also the most haunting. Each song is crafted with the most sinister of intent. Churchburn wants the listener to feel a true sense of dread as the song progresses. This is only the beginning…”

Swedish deathcrust ensemble Bombs of Hades are the latest addition to the ever-pummeling Pulverised Records roster. A press releasing about the signing reads as follows:

“Spawned in 2002 as a crustpunk act, Bombs of Hades quickly mutated into a gristly old-school Swedish death metal direction, while still retaining a strong d-beat/crust vibe. Fronted by Jonas Stålhammar (ex-God Macabre, ex-Utumno, etc), who recently served briefly with legendary Swedish thrashers The Crown, the band is now geared up for their second full-length, entitled A Serpent’s Redemption. The follow-up to 2010′s Chambers Of Abominations, released via Blood Harvest Records, is expected to drop sometime next year.”

Commented Stålhammar: “Bombs of Hades is psyched to have the next album released through Pulverised. A Serpent’s Redemption will satisfy souls starved for some true old-school death metal and will be unleashed before the Summer of 2012.”

Added Pulverised Records A&R Manager Calvin Chiang: “Bombs of Hades is one band that have been on our radar for some time now. We finally thought it was time to seize the opportunity to grab them for a brand new record. To further confirm that our gut feeling was correct, our good old friend Ayong (founder of Pulverised Records) coincidentally recommended the band and strongly insisted we get Bombs of Hades on our roster by hook or by crook! Expect full-blown death metal abomination!”
