On March 17, GetYourRockOut conducted an interview with vocalist Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth of New Jersey thrash metal veterans OVERKILL in Manchester, England. You can now watch the chat below.

OVERKILL will release its new album, “White Devil Armory”, in July in North America via eOne Music and in Europe through Nuclear Blast Records. The effort was tracked at Gear Recording and will be mixed by Greg Reely, who also worked on 2012’s “The Electric Age”.

“White Devil Armory” track listing:

01. Freedom Rings
02. Where There’s Smoke…
03. Pig
04. Amorist
05. Down To The Bone
06. Bitter Pill
07. King Of The Rat Bastards
08. Another Day To Die
09. It’s All Yours
10. In The Name

The cover artwork for “White Devil Armory” can be seen below.

Said OVERKILL in a statement: “We are still working on the new record, but this is gonna be worth the wait, with more old-school, face-melting thrash!”

Speaking to Steppin’ Out magazine, OVERKILL vocalist Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth stated about the band’s upcoming album: “The new record has a blend of what we’ve done over the past half decade. I’m noticing it’s a more punchy heavy metal record with more dimension than the last record had. Where is it going to end up on the food chain? I really don’t know. But my feeling is it’s an eclectic collection of moments from us. ‘The Electric Age’ came across, to me, as kind of a two-dimensional thrash record. This one is punchy but has a whole different bunch of ways to go and things to hear on it.”

OVERKILL released a very special limited tour edition of “The Electric Age” in Europe on April 19, 2013 via Nuclear Blast Records. The limited 2CD tour edition included the regular album as well as a four additional live tracks on a bonus CD, recorded at The Metro in Sidney, Australia on September 25, 2010.

“The Electric Age” sold 6,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 77 on The Billboard 200 chart.

New Jersey thrash metal veterans OVERKILL will enter the studio on Monday, September 2 to begin recording their next album for a March 2014 release. The CD will be tracked at Gear Recording and mixed by Greg Reely, who also worked on “The Electric Age”.

In a recent interview with Radiosuicide Photography‘s RSPTV, OVERKILL vocalist Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth stated about the band’s plans for the coming months: “There’s six songs done [for the next record so far]. What we’re gonna do in the interim is we’re gonna come over while recording and do European festivals. After that, we do a U.S. tour with the German band called KREATOR. It’s gonna be a flip-flop headline; we’ll close the shows on the East Coast in those theaters and they’ll close on the West Coast in theaters, or big clubs. After that, we drop the record in March, it hits the street. They even gave me the date as March 7 already, so we’re that far planned ahead for those type of activities. And after that, I’m sure that what we’re gonna do is just start rolling these tours again. And I think that as we’ve gotten older, one of the things that we like is that we actually do more tours, but we do less touring; we’re not away from home for three months or sixty days, we’re away from home for three or four weeks. Three weeks is a great tour for a guy my age. Because then you don’t have to recover for a month when you come home. [laughs]”

As previously reported, OVERKILL released a very special limited tour edition of its latest album, “The Electric Age”, in Europe on April 19 via Nuclear Blast Records. The limited 2CD tour edition includes the regular album as well as a four additional live tracks on a bonus CD, recorded at The Metro in Sidney, Australia on September 25, 2010.

“The Electric Age” sold 6,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 77 on The Billboard 200 chart.

“The Electric Age” was recorded and mixed at Gear Recording Studios in New Jersey, owned and operated by OVERKILL bassist D.D. Verni.

To honor and celebrate Record Store Day on April 20, Nuclear Blast and OVERKILL released a limited-edition 10-inch copper-colored vinyl in gatefold containing four live tracks recorded at The Metro in Sidney, Australia on September 25, 2010.

OVERKILL was forced to drop off the “Dark Roots Of Thrash” tour with TESTAMENT in February due to Ellsworth‘s bout with pneumonia.

The album is set to see release in other major international markets four days earlier on January 20th, 2012. The album was mixed by Greg Reely (Fear Factory, Machine Head, DevilDriver) and Ahti Kortelainen (Sentenced, Sonarta Arctica).

“Decadence” marks the first official full-length release from Nothnegal. You can listen to a snippet of a new song now at this location.

“Decadence is our first official studio release and the first release featuring the current lineup, the first time that Fufu handling the vocals, Marco on keyboards and Kevin on drums,” states guitarist Hilarl. “We began writing Decadence in Summer 2010. The record has been quite a challenge for us as we have taken time to do a lot of experimentation on the sound, shifting more towards thrash and progressive metal with industrial elements making it entirely different from the sound we had on our 2009 four-track demo, Antidote Of Realism. With a completely new and original sound and attitude, we feel like we’re starting again from scratch as we believe we’ve finally discovered our sound with Decadence.”

“Decadence” is currently available for pre-order on Season of Mist’s e-shop as a limited digipak edition. Each copy from the first pressing of the album will come with a unique code that can allow you to win a trip to the band’s stomping grounds… the Maldives! The 5-day journey will take place at the Fihalhohi Island Resort in Summer 2012. The winner will receive one return flight to the Maldives, an all-inclusive stay (including scuba-diving and other water sport activities) for two people and a meet and greet with the band. More details can be found in the booklet of the album.

Nothnegal, which signed to Season of Mist back in 2010, has issued the following update about album delays and lineup changes:

“We regret to inform that the release our debut album which was originally intended to come out this Spring have been delayed. This was mostly due to some unforeseen problems and changes in the band’s lineup.

“Fufu, who have been doing the backing vocals and guitarist have taken over the vocals and Avo is no longer part of Nothnegal as he decided to leave the band after our European tour with Finntroll.

“We have finished recording 8 songs our upcoming album and the album’s sound does shift away from the sound we had on our previous release by having a more heavier thrashier sound. Most of the instrument tracks were laid down at our home studio, the vocals were recorded at OneManArmy Studios in Finland. The songs are currently being mixed in Canada by Greg Reely (Machine Head, Fear Factory, Devin Townsend) who would also be doing the mastering.

“The album would be released worldwide through Season of Mist later this year making it our first release through SoM and also our debut album. More details on the album, the release schedule and our touring plans to follow soon.”

The current lineup of Nothnegal is as follows:

Vocals & Guitars – Fufu
Guitars – Hilarl
Keyboards/Samples – Marco Sneck
Drums – Kevin Talley
