Members of world-famous American rock band JOURNEY played the national anthem yesterday (Saturday, September 28) before Arizona State University‘s football game against USC in Tempe, Arizona.

Founding member and lead guitarist Neal Schon, accompanied by longtime keyboardist and backing vocalist Jonathan Cain, played the anthem approximately 15 minutes prior to kickoff.

Schon, JOURNEY‘s only constant member, and Cain, who joined in 1980, co-wrote most of the band’s classic songs, including massive hit anthem “Don’t Stop Believin'”.

Members of world-famous American rock band JOURNEY are set to play the national anthem before Arizona State University‘s football game against USC on September 28 at 7:30 p.m. in Tempe, Arizona.

Founding member and lead guitarist Neal Schon, accompanied by longtime keyboardist and backing vocalist Jonathan Cain, will play the anthem approximately 15 minutes prior to kickoff.

The Sun Devils‘ first home Pac-12 contest of the season is the second annual Maroon Monsoon game, and also Sun Devil Club Night and Family Weekend. Fans are encouraged to once again wear maroon and help get the word out via social media using the hashtag #MaroonMonsoon.

Oklahoma’s own Neal Schon of the legendary rock band JOURNEY will be inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall Of Fame this Friday evening, August 23, , in Tulsa, prior to JOURNEY‘s concert at The Joint Hard Rock Event Center.

The only constant member of JOURNEY, Neal Schon was born at Tinker Air force Base located southeast of Oklahoma City. The multi-talented guitarist, vocalist and songwriter was also a member of SANTANA and BAD ENGLISH, HSAS, ABRAXAS POOL, SOUL SIRKUS, and others, and enjoys a successful solo career. As a member of JOURNEY, Schon co-wrote some of the group’s biggest hits, including “Don’t Stop Believin'”, “Any Way You Want It”, “Lights” and “Wheel In The Sky”.

“The Oklahoma Music Hall Of Fame is thrilled to induct Neal Schon to kick off the first of a number of events planned in Tulsa and OKC,” says Oklahoma Music Hall Of Fame‘s executive director Jim Blair.

Schon joins a prestigious group of past inductees, including Woody Guthrie, Merle Haggard, Blake Shelton, Ronnie Dunn, and Carrie Underwood, among others, who have contributed to Oklahoma’s rich musical local, national and international history.
